Almost half the price of other brands
Almost half the price of other brands, delivered very quickly and quality/fit was perfect.
Some basic instructions and parts list included in the box would be advantageous. Had a problem with adjusting the hinges but a phone call sorted it out straight away.

Proceed With Caution
I'd chosen California Shutters based on the strong reviews, however, my experience has got me thinking either the quality has dropped drastically in a short time, or some of these reviews are not genuine.
I ordered on 30th April and the first batch arrived on 9th May so in good time. However, the shutters were hard to open, some slats wonky, covered in black marks, markings for drilling left uncleaned, wreckless hole drilled where one of the clips should fit. Simply just no pride in their work nor care for the customer it seems.
The customer service team have been great and tried their best - arranged replacement shutters, delivered 22 May - however it was the same story, if not worse, one shutter was loose/falling apart with slats falling out if you looked at it the wrong way then same as the above for the rest plus even harder to operate the tilt mechanism.
I'm glad I ordered from a different company at the same time as the difference in quality is night and day - clean, smooth tilt mechanism and no marks.
So at best I'll get a refund but still sat here almost 5 weeks ongoing with a lot of hassle and nothing to show for it.
Therefore all in all, proceed with caution and consider other options as there are companies providing better products out there.

Lost in transit.
Good communication after raising delivery issues. Ordered shutters on the 16th of January and received the final part today. After many emails and phone calls to the company the missing part of the shutters finally turned up after being lost in transit. The shutters are good quality and very nice, it's such a shame that the very poor delivery service has really put a cloud over the overall purchase. The people at Californian shutters were as helpful as they could be, however as I have stated the delivery service was extremely poor.

Super long delivery time and disappointing in terms of shutting out light
The shutters took 4 1/2 months to arrive , longer than the predicted arrival date , but nobody contacted me to inform me. When they were finally delivered , I had no notification so it was pure chance that I was in. The shutters do look nice now installed and the frames fit perfectly ( made specifically to my measurements) , however the shutters don’t fit perfectly within the frames in that there are quite a few gaps that let light through and the slats don’t fit together very tightly. When I contacted customer service I was told this is how they are , just designed to block up to 70 % of the light out . So if you’re looking for something that blocks out more light , these shutters may not be for you.
Since writing my review , they have reached out and offered a goodwill gesture to compensate for the long delivery time , I’m very happy with the level of customer service from them.

These shutters are fantastic…
These shutters are absolutely fantastic. We are both pensioners with no DIY experience but we managed to put them in on our own. It did take around 14 weeks to arrive but they are well worth the wait very good quality. They were half the price of the ones you get fitted by a company. We did 3 windows downstairs. Now thinking of saving up for the upstairs. Will highly recommend California Shutters.

Good Price and Service. OK Product.
We've used California Shutters before and of the different shutter suppliers we've used for different rooms over the years, CS seem to be the best overall.
This time it was just a small shutter in our en-suite to replace an existing one that wouldn't fit after a remodel of the room.
Overall, we're pleased with the quality of the shutter and the delivery was quick because we chose the faux-wood materials.
The only minor gripe I have is that the steel keeper plates that the shutter magnets sit against when closed, are ugly and let the appearance of the shutter down a lot. I can't believe that anybody thought that they looked acceptable, when designing the overall product range. I will be taking this up with CS.
Otherwise, very happy with our purchase.

Fantastic company
I have ordered 5 shutters from this company and when I have had an issue ( not through any fault of themselves ) they reply as soon as they can
1. I lost a pin for the shutters? 2 pins sent within 3 days
2 I lost all my confirmation emails
sorted out straight away with the remaining order numbers
I personally give this company 10/10
and I do not normally give reviews
