Laura (Spa) is best in class

I booked a facial at the spa and was gifted with an incredible experience with Laura. She is exceptionally personable, warm natured and kind. She allowed space to chat or be completely silent and the treatment was fantastic. My skin has never felt better! As a visitor to the area, Laura was so kind as to provide recommendations for the remainder of my trip. Please go visit Laura on your trip to the Cameron House Spa, you won't regret it!

Awful communication and service

Have been trying for almost 2 weeks to get in contact with someone reference a golf membership here. Multiple enquiries, phone calls, emails and messages left with never a reply. When you do manage to get through to someone you get put on hold for 45 mins at a time before it cuts off. I would expect better service from an establishment like Cameron house. Very disappointing to say the least

Refused refund

Cancelled my booking due to unforseen circumstaces 3 days before due and they refuse to refund the deposit even though their terms say they will. It was only for 1 nights accommodation!

This is not a 5 * Hotel

This is not a 5 * Hotel.
Room was not ready for the allocated 3pm check in even though I was there from 1.30 pm waiting in the lobby
Paid £50 per night to bring along my small Maltese dog and never got any snacks or bed etc for this price
When using the Spa a five minute drive away the driver was not there for the 6.15 pm collection on the return keeping us waiting outside

Good but...

The vast majority of my experience met the standard I would expect from a hotel of this price brand and reputation. However, the one major issue I had (which spoilt my one night stay to a considerable extent) was finding out 5 minutes before an expensive late afternoon spa session that the location for this activity was a *5 minute drive away from the actual hotel*. Having already had an alcoholic drink, driving myself was not possible (and even if it were, having to extract my car from the relatively remote car park - in the pouring rain - and drive to the spa (and back) would have seriously detracted from the supposedly relaxing (and expensive) spa experience. The hotel arranged a transfer in the end but this delayed the whole thing by 30 minutes (plus another similar wait after the treatment) which then had a negative knock-on effect on the rest of the planned evening. There was *no mention* of the location difference on the booking confirmation email at all. *Surely* I am not the first person to have had their plans ruined by this pretty significant - *and extremely easily remedied* - oversight?
