Bought a Campingaz bbq nearly 3 years…

Bought a Campingaz bbq nearly 3 years ago. It has been terrible. We had a Beefmaster bbq before for 25 years which was excellent. We have already replaced the burner. Campingaz do not wear well and we are already looking at a new one. Cheap rubbish and terrible to clean. Please don’t waste your money.

Terrible Campingaz customer service

Terrible Campingaz customer service! Bought a partygrill CV400 and the piezo igniter stopped working on second use. Contacted customer service and several weeks later got a reply asking for video evidence of the fault. Sent them the video showing it failing to light off the piezo, then being lit using a cigarette lighter. Got a reply saying the piezo is working fine and that I should check that the gas hasn't ran out, with an explanation as to how to check if there is gas in the cylinder! After I got over the shock of this incredibly dismissive and uneducated response, I penned a polite reply suggesting they review the video again as it clearly shows the piezo is not working, and that the gas is not empty. No reply after 2 weeks or after chasing them up. Eventually got someone on the phone who said Campingaz don't offer a spares service and I should contact the retailer. So why not say that in the first place instead of wasting my time and insulting my intelligence with your BS! Didn't want a full refund from Amazon as I got it on a good deal so would cost me more to return it and buy a new one. Shame as its a really good little stove when it works.

Bought a 12v cool box from decathlon in…

Bought a 12v cool box from decathlon in France. After a years light use the lead basically fell apart. Contacted customer services. A month later they got in touch and told me to contact the shop or buy a new one at silly money. Decathlon said I needed to take it back to France. So apart from the shoddy product and shocking customer service, I suppose they’re ok.

I am very surprised at the bad reviews…

I am very surprised at the bad reviews on here as we bought our BBQ earlier this summer and although we had to assemble it ourselves (a bit of a shock) it had easy instructions and we are thrilled with it especially the VERY easy cleaning after use.

Bad, bad and bad

There are no words to start saying how bad this is. Barbecue arrived with no screws; when we finally got them, and starting mounting it, the insert, where the screw goes, broke (came out of the wood). Now I am gluing it. It drives me crazy how this can go wrong from A to Z! And haven’t even passed the first part.

Terrible design.

The product design and engineering on this product is shambolic at best. The whole department should hang their heads in shame. A simple assembly routine is thwarted by a poor understanding of tolerances and a zero consideration approach to Design For Assembly. Twisting and bending parts to make them assemble should not be needed. X-Ray vision and 4 arms should also not be required.

Campingaz BBQ Warning

Top of the range Onyx 4. Rusted to pieces after 3 years. 5 year warranty which Campingaz refuse to honour. Their response is I live in a coastal area in Ireland and therefore the BBQ is more prone to rust. 17 of 32 counties in Ireland are coastal. A fabulous BBQ, but unfortunately it was money down the drain, be warned, Campingaz will not stand over their warranty if you live near the sea. Shameful.

Con artists with questionable ethics

No other company deliberately cons people into buying non recyclable proprietary products for their own gain..

This company has developed a proprietary cylinder attachment that looks identical to a screw-top cylinder... The issue is they then seal it with a green cap, and price it slightly lower than the competition.
The aim here is the customer walks into a store, thinks they are buying a screw top gas cylinder and gets home, breaks the seal to find it is a ridiculous proprietary fitting they need to purchase an extra adapter to use.

This a daylight scam. To find out the gas cylinder you are purchasing is not screw top requires googling the code on the cylinder. It is not at all transparent what you are buying and this is a dirty sales tactic.

Bought Party Grill 400 on 31/08/23 but…

Bought Party Grill 400 on 31/08/23 but had to return it to seller - Lid badly chipped at clip openings. Purchased the same model 05/09/23 and it arrived in the same state. Campingaz really need to look into this problem.

Cheating customers

They cheat customers showing, on website, functionalities that are absent in real product.

In my case the right shelf, on a 3 Series Premium S, was shown as foldable. In realty, it is not foldable.

Diabolical Service Guaranteed!

Extremely poor customer service! I bought what I would class as an expensive gas BBQ, used it for one season absolutely perfect. At the start of season 2 I noticed the lid was starting to blister and peel and the inside was the same. I checked my warranty which was 3 years so I was well within that. Long story short the customer service from Campingaz isn’t anything short of shocking. Their response was “it looks like your item has been on fire” to which my response was obviously not however given the nature of the product and what it does there will be heat and the odd flame however I’d expect it to be manufactured to reflect this. I was simply told they wouldn’t do anything and that they’d no longer respond to any further communication from me. I’ve been a loyal Campingaz customer with many products and spent many £££‘z - not anymore!

Cheap rubbish parts.

I brought the party grill 600 approximately 2 years ago. Didn't keep the recieipt like a plonker 🤦 but last season I had to replace the griddle plate. The teflon coating had started peeling off. I assumed it was because we must have washed it with something it didnt agree with. So I went ahead and brought a replacement. At 50quid they aren't cheap. Anyway the new one hasn't been used. Pulled it out to use it today and the coating is peeling off already. That's really poor. Not only that the inside of the partygrill bowl has gone rusty. I don't think it's been used 4 times in its life. Such a shame as we love the idea of it. So easy to use. Just built really poorly. I paid for the name. Assuming I could trust it. This time I have been let down.

Poor spares service

Poor spares service, no reply from the customer service. Party grill 200. I have a critical failure of a component that left gas pooring out of the attached cylinder with no method to turn it off due to the component failure. The plastic threaded coupler connecting the gas valve to the burner has failed after 2 or 3 years use. Use being one or two camping trips a year if I'm lucky. Do yourself a favour and by a Cadac if you value you safety.

Got a triple burner gas bbq

Got a triple burner gas bbq - absolutely love it. Took ages to build and the packaging is pretty environmentally unfriendly (EVERYTHING is individually wrapped) but the instructions are simple enough to follow and the BBQ itself is a beauty, we love it.

I was bought the Campingaz 400 SG…

I was bought the Campingaz 400 SG Double Burner and Grill for my birthday last month (june 2019). The product looks great out the box, but the quality unfortunately doesnt continue through this product.

I have used it one, the front latch looks and feels as if its about to fall off and barely holds the burners shut properly. When first opened, one of the burners was at a 45 degree angle and wouldnt light. Gentle persuasion back into right position and works fine, but neither burner like to ignite easily at all.

First use experience was great to cook on and boil kettles etc, but both burners are a bit wobbly, and general feel overall feels that perhaps this product wont last as well as the previous models.

I took to a more expensive type with new burner style after borrowing a friends very old campingaz equivalent which still works great, but feel mine will not last the length of time theirs have.

Its still a great product, and obviously only used once, but have a busy couple of months of camping coming up , so will reassess at the end of summer
