EOS Utility is trash
EOS Utility repeatedly froze and failed to work on my Mac. After uninstalling, remnants remained and required Apple support to fully remove. Canon customer support was not knowledgeable about Mac issues. The software never functioned properly and caused significant frustration.
Canon MB-2720 Printer Total Junk!
Canon printers are pure junk. My MP2720 is not worth the box it was packaged in. This is class action suit material here. Total junk. Shame on you Canon! Ink impossible to replace -- even with genuine Canon ink cartridges.
Canon MILC cameras
My Iphone can make a much detailed photo with more resolution at a fraction of the price that Canon is asking for their MILC cameras, especially R5 Mark II that has less detail and dynamic range than its predecessor.
Much Lower Quality Printer Products and Services
For the sake of convenience, I tried to use "Canon Direct" to order ink from the printer properties screen that pops up when printing.
For two ink bottles, I selected free standard delivery (3-7 days). It's been 10 days and I called two days ago to find out what was happening. Tracking shows that it has been labelled by FedEX but no sign of anything after that. Though Canon promised me an update yesterday, they never got back to me.
Today, I called again and was told they checked into it and didn't know where it was in the system but they could create a new order, so I could start this ridiculous process all over again!
I declined, canceled the order and told them that they needed some serious overhauls in their processing and customer updates!
I used to be a Canon printer fan because of their archival inks and great photo prints, but I have been having problems with the G7020 printer quality and now this escapade with the ink order makes this a failing company for me, as these are core aspects of their business.
I will find a better company to meet my printing needs!
I used to love their cameras
I used to love their cameras! I mean sure, everybody has a brilliant device in their pockets now that can take amazing photos, that are easy to use, powerful to catch a lot of light and whatnot. however though, it is nothing like the satisfaction of taking a brilliantly clear and perfectly professional picture with actually a pro device!
I don't know a lot about the current situation with their business metrics and market shares and whatnot, but still, I think when it comes to cameras , lenses, video cameras, I think Canon was and probably still is way to go.
and not just that, their printers are also known for the quality and efficiency for home and professional environments. they had some sort of a legacy going on in innovation and imaging tech, and i truly hope that theyd be able to continue that.
Disappointing Experience with Canon Warranty Department
Title: Disappointing Experience with Canon Warranty Department
My recent interaction with Canon's warranty department has been nothing short of frustrating and disheartening. I purchased a Canon product with the expectation that their warranty would provide me with peace of mind and support in case of any issues. However, my experience has been quite the opposite.
Firstly, trying to navigate the process of making a warranty claim was unnecessarily convoluted. The instructions provided were vague and unclear, and it took several attempts to even figure out how to initiate the process. When I finally managed to submit my claim, the response time was excruciatingly slow. It felt like my case was being neglected or ignored, which is far from the responsiveness I would expect from a reputable company's warranty department.
After weeks of waiting, I was informed that my claim was denied due to reasons that were not adequately explained. It was baffling to receive such a response after investing time and energy into following their instructions. When I attempted to communicate further to seek clarification, the lack of empathy and understanding from their representatives was deeply disappointing. It was as if they were more interested in closing the case quickly than in actually assisting a customer in need.
In a world where customer support and warranty services can make or break a brand's reputation, Canon's warranty department falls drastically short. The inefficiency, lack of transparency, and dismissive attitude have left me frustrated and regretful of my choice to invest in their products. This experience has certainly made me question whether I can rely on Canon's warranty for any future purchases.
Terrible experiences with Canon…
Terrible experiences with Canon printers. First one bought a few years ago wouldn't print colours and b&w only in zig zags. Bought an MG6440 in Dubai. You can't get the Canon ink cartridges in UK and Canon block the refills and non Canon ones. Bought a MG2550s a couple of weeks ago and tried it today and it won't connect to any computer at all. Useless. Never going to buy Canon again. HP much better.
Good Service
I'm from Singapore. A while back I had my printer have some problem. I wrote in to Canon SG's email. and they immediately offered some solution. They asked for my date of purchase or warranty, I told them I had lost it. They were very kind to still extend service to me and backdate the warranty to a reasonable time and start the warranty period from there. Then almost half a year later, someone actually called me again to check if my printer was working well and all. Excellent service.
Printer without cable
Bought a printer PIXMA MG2550S, and later I realized that there was no cable to connect it to the computer, and the printer is not wireless.
They literally expect you to buy that separately, its like buying a laptop, but there is no charger with it.
Seriously, who the f does that?!
Old but still great!
Well, Canon was my second camera I bought back in 2011 after my old Samsung one broke and still today, I use it for object and close-up shots and it just works! I've 3 different lenses; one for close-up, one for mid-range photography and one for long-distance photography. They still work. Even though I'm not a professional, I can recommend Canon (1100D) to everyone who wants to take clear shots!
Bad Quality
I have had three canon cameras, all three sucked. When taking out a tripod, all three of the cameras got stuck in the tripod head. One of them was waterproof, and the battery cover fell off and broke the camera while underwater. Another one of the cameras battery port broke, and the last one's lens got stuck. Trash company that doesn't stand behind their products.
i have been stuck with my printer and…
i have been stuck with my printer and no one is here on the website ready to help me
Canon customer service is utterly useless. I habe two business class copy/scanner machines and I pay for monthly service. I have been on hold for support for more than an hour and still no relief.
Canon customer service is useless.
Their printers aren't the best,and are…
Their printers aren't the best, and are cheap for a reason, but still.
They don't care about the customers of their product,
wasted hours just to install drivers for my printer MG2550S,to this day its still having issues with usb connections/driver issues even though it worked on other computers, their website is slow, they only care about money and not customers, shame.
Can't clear a jam without disassembly
The printer worked well for a few months, and then I got a paper jam. That's when I discovered there is no way to get to the paper path to clear the jam. After disassembling the printer to get to the paper path to clear the jam, it wouldn't power up. Off to the trash can it goes.
DONT BUY CANON...
Dont buy canon products they go oboslote so fast you cant belive it. Driveres wont be updatet and they are a part of destroying the planet througt planned obsolescence. Printers use way tooo much ink and they are constanly emty... Cameras wont get driver updates... and the show goes on and on. So im not buying canon ever again...
Utter trash
Utter trash, they removed software for a rather new printer, now I just can't use it as their software won't install. Guess they want us to buy new ones really often. Scumbag company.
I am done with Canon
I am done with Canon. I am on my second and LAST Canon printer. There is no dedicated printer driver available even though it's a newish device, and their instructions online for Mac users are incorrect. So my only option is to call customer support and PAY to have my device actually be usable. And they're only available Mon-Fri, so good luck getting anything done on the weekend. GOODBYE Canon.
Better than Epson
I had so many troubles with Epson that when my printer works with Canon, I feel like I need to promote it !
Sue Canon!!
I have to print something about 5 times a year. I picked up a Cannon TS3300 at Walmart around a month ago for the rare occasion that I have to print. I printed 2-3 pages and then the printer sat on my shelf for a month. This morning I had to print my car insurance id, I fired up the printer and it just kept faulting. Complete junk!!!
I am angry that I wasted money buying the Cannon junk. I am more angry at that I wasted my valuable Saturday morning trying to accomplish a simple task. I called Cannon (utterly worthless). I called Walmart (even more worthless).
Here is how I see;
- Junk printer ~= $100
- 3 hours wasted @ $100/hr = $300
At a very modest hourly rate, I feel Cannon owes my $400 for taking 3 hours of my life.
Come on lawyers, there has to be a precedence for this. These crooks must be liable for not only the junk they sell, but the time they rob hard working people trying to use their junk.
