Petitions arrive by email twice a day. Whenever I have source checked any petition in question, I’ve been met with corresponding evidence.

omg what a horrible site

omg what a horrible site. They do not respond when you email them. My profile got deleted three times for no reason. When you make comments on articles your comments will go in random peoples inboxes. Then they contact you and you have to explain that care 2 is messed up and they will agree too! I had one guy make two different fake profiles begging for goddamn money to send him! There will be lots of trolls and spam comments in the articles and they do nothing about it! The guy Randy who owns care 2 is a goddamn millionaire who could care less about animals and people! stay away!

I used to trust the Petition Site…

I used to trust the Petition Site (Care2) and have accumulated many Butterfly Rewards over the years, signed numerous petitions However, I've wondered about some petitions lately. Today I saw a petition on Facebook, a Care2 petition about R. Kelly. I'm not an R. Kelly fan, I'm more indie and old R&R, Pink Floyd, etc. I also worked many trials for four decades, the legal system for 45 years. The Facebook post, the remarks made by Care2 on their official Facebook page, and many of the flat-out racist remarks are horrible. It disgusts me that something I thought was reliable and addressed many environmental and social causes I support is not, if fact, a place you can rely on. I intend to do a post about this issue. I went to their site and discovered there was no place to contact them with the concerns, just as there was no place to message them on Facebook. Appalling.

I deleted my Care2 account with an explanation to Customer Support (for what it's worth). Two more people were suspended ~ one for expressing a non-vegan opinion and one for saying he supported Israel.
Don't post a comment unless it agrees with Care2 or you will be suspended for violating their Code of Conduct . It is a site purely for sheeple and the willfully ignorant.

Some good petitions

Some good petitions. But too many are misleading and just for stupid liberal causes. Also I understand it's funded by george sorogross a American hating commie. Boxes are checked automatically so be careful. You might be signing a cause you detest. CHEATING it's a liberal thing. All animal petitions are signed as they are more worthy than anti American petitions. BE CAREFUL

I've Seen Better Petition Sites

The biggest problem this petition site has is that it doesn't have a filter for articles that are flat-out inaccurate. Seriously, using Natural World News as a source? They also seem will have rather anti-science attitudes at times, especially regarding talking about the effects cats have on the environment. Seriously, TakePart was better before it was defunct.

Care2 Stole my Emails

I have been with Care2 since 2003 and i had an email account with them. On December 2015, I tried to log on to care2 and i couldn't. I thought it was a glitch. I tried so many times all through to the new year of 2016 and couldn't login. I thought maybe it was some denial of service because the site was hogged with traffic. In February of 2016, i was damn serious about getting into my mail and i kept getting the EDR and a bunch of codes after it "error". I left support messages after messages with no response. The next message i got from Care2 on my backup/reset email was that they were shutting down their email service in October. From when i got that message in Mid 2016 up till October. I couldn't still log in and now the Email service is shut down. Kudos Care2 you are the biggest scam ever. And don't give me the crap about money because i would have paid anything to have my email account still running and retrieve those Emails. I cherished that i was on there for over a decade and to me that is a priceless memory. Am sure many loyal users would have done the same too. Care2 stole my emails and a decades worth of memory.

Disappointing and unethical site

I have been a member 1-1/2 years and in the last several months, find the articles are more sensationalized and very biased in favor of one side only on any issue, and more often than not, full of inaccurate information based on the authors opinion rather than facts. I research everything!

The comments allowed to be posted are racists, vulgar, and disgraceful and even worse name-calling if someone posts a comment in disagreement with the writer and/or member(s) posts. They claim you can flag an inappropriate comment, no you can't, I tried that on one individual post where the language was not only vulgar but downright disgusting, but as this person supports the cause, it could not be flagged. I sent messages to the Editor to no avail, except to have access to areas of the site cut off.

I have found some petition to be inaccurate and also sensationalized, plus on a worthy cause, they try to "trick" you into signing a second petition. If you sign one, another sign here pops up, well fool me once, never again, thinking it had not been accepted, click again, the result being having to go in a remove my signature from the second petition, a petition no one other than their die-hards-follow-me-blindly would even consider signing. I certainly agree with Cee, unethical and lacking in professional etiquette is putting it mildly! There is not much more I can say that others have not already said.

I am trying to determine IF C2 actually donates funds to the organizations listed on their "green star" giving page, so far I find they are still listed on some, one says they used to be and another has had complaints are have not finished their investigation. I quit doing the green star donations when I found for every star donated, they took one from something else already allocated elsewhere and could not get an answer from C2 on why!

HELP SUPPORT DOES NOT RESPOND

Have been with Care2 for a few years now but Care2 has changed information on my account with them and now it shows that I only started being a member this year. We live in South Africa also called Zuid Afrika in Afrikaans and my email address ends with mweb.co.za and Care2 decided for some reason only known to themselves to change the end part of my email address to mweb.com now this has caused me endless problems by the site not allowing me to sign petitions. What do I belong to Care2 for, but to help them by signing petitions, etc. Have sent numerous help requests to them 6 - 8 but have not received one reply back from them which is really disgusting. What can one do about this as it will not allow me to change my email address myself back to the correct one. Do not think Care2 cares anymore about their site.

Short deadline to transfer then ditch w/o explaination

Care2 gave email users 30 days notice to transfer emails. I've have two accounts- both used over 10 years, with hundreds of emails to transfer and accounts to change.

However, Care2 dismantled it's email two weeks early, leaving me with years of memories gone.

What A Disappointment & A Scam

Nothing much I can add to what others have said here except, as a gay person, I have been very disappointed in this so-called "progressive" site that pays lip service to women's, children's, animal and lgbt rights but panders to a Jew-hating, homophobic, anti-women/child Islamist gang of hatemongering thugs, and they do nothing to stop their hate, but they do, as others state here, silence those who try to combat these bigots. It cares nothing, really, for the victims of this ideology of hate. It is all a scam. It should be called CAIR2.

I have found more concern for the rights of the above named groups on Conservative sites than on this supposedly Liberal site.

Care2 Does Not Care

I joined several years ago as I am interested in the environment, conservation, wildlife and animal welfare. There were a lot of petitions to sign and articles to enjoy. Unfortunately, I also found rabid anti-Semitism and anti-Israel articles and posted articles from various media sources on both subjects supporting Israel and showing how Islamists hurt and abused non-Muslims such as Asia Bibi in Pakistan. Not long after I started commenting on blatantly anti-Semitic/anti-Israel sites I was suspended without warning or reason and several months of emailing the lack of help team brought no response. One of two emails may have been lost but I think I sent something like 20! I tried to set up an alternative account but was removed.

A friend wrote to the BBB and Care2 ignored them.

There is a group of people who are incredibly and blatantly anti-Semitic who continually breach the "Code of Conduct" when posting articles and commenting on these articles or on other peoples. They know that they are allowed to be abusive because they are exempt.

Care2 also allows people to be harassed on other subjects. I have seen many people complain that their comments disappear for no apparent reason, their notes do not take and that they are totally unable to post some articles.

It seems that this site illegally censors the truth about certain subjects in breach of the First Amendment. They are blatant in their racism and they, themselves, breachthe Code of Conduct where the staff post racist comments and stir rather than prevent. I have never advocated the monitoring of social media but, in the case of Hate2, I believe that they should be.

I am going to send this to "I don't Care2" but sincerely doubt that they will care.

Unethical and lacking in professional etiquette

I was a Major contributor of articles and petiitons on articles of interest on environmental, animals, and world causes such as human rights, Mideast politics etc. terminated without comment and despite having over 1000 friends and having submitted over 22,000 articles over many years there has been no explanation for my suspension ten days ago despite numerous requests for this. My conclusion now is that I would advise real activists to steer away from this poorly run site operated from all appearances without ethics apparently and favoring a cadre of extremists.

Care2 is a shady petition promotion site, with low customer service skills and ethics.

Be careful about joining that site.

While officially its purpose is to create “Largest online community for healthy and green living, human rights and animal wel”, the reality is not so clear.

First, you must provide a complete and accurate personal information. Which, some members allege, is then sold to third parties and they will contact you for their fundraising.

Second, the site serves as a propaganda tool for extremist Vegan, Leftist and Islamist views. Several aggressive members, with links to the site administration, regularly stir anti-Israel and anti-Semitic sentiments and promote “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” anti-Israel campaign, still managed by the Arab Boycott Office.

The Care2 administration was repeatedly notified of such campaigns, clearly violating written Care2 Code of Conduct, yet nothing was done to stop these trolling violators. Actually, accounts of people who protest the trolls are terminated instead.

Third, the moderators lack both the customer service and basic ethics skills. They never warn members about pending account termination and do not provide explanations for such termination. For those who had been a member of this network for years, established connections with friends, loaded tons of personal photos and had a great deal of correspondence stored at Care2 mailboxes, a sudden loss of all that comes as a great shock and major inconvenience.

It is unclear what the purpose of this site is and who pays them for hundreds of petitions they encourage members to initiate. Their claims of having tens of millions members is a lie to scam advertisers, because the number of accounts never goes down, not when people pass away or have their accounts terminated.

Joining and running activities on Care2 may result in bitter feelings later when your membership is suddenly terminated without any explanation and all emails, connections that you established over the years and personal photos are lost.

They sell members personal info to companies for money

Care2 SELLS your personal Information to companies for money.... Well they call it a "Fee"

Of course they claim that they tell everyone on their Privacy and term pages. But word count makes this equal in length to having to read two chapters long of a novel.

It's a scam, they are in the petition business for one thing MONEY they even the COO Linkedin page egotistically boasts "Care2 is rapidly growing and profitable, with over $10 million in revenue"

Try starting one of their Petitions, if you reach your goal do you know what happens? NOTHING Care2 does nothing except let you print the page out that shows you have some names on it.

No company actually takes them seriously because a piece of paper printed out and sent in by Joe is worthless.

Care2 does not care2 even have the decency to send it from their address, They are happy because they received thousands of page views off the work of that poor slob who had the compassion to believe in something.

I am sure Care2 is having a big laugh at the scam they are running.

Bombarding signers with email failed my petition

Anyone who signs gets bombarded with email about other unrelated petitions and so either ignores them, unsubscribes to all mailings from care2 or creates a filter to junk them.

In my case, when the petition closed and was delivered, I wanted to be able to keep people informed about the reply to the petition and further progress. I couldn't because once the petition is closed you can't email any updates any more.

care2's customer service were very good about this, specially re-opening my ability to post updates for a short period, but it was too late because everyone had unsubscribed from receiving emails from care2.

Now that I need to take followup action on the issue, there is no way to contact the support base of 1000+ people who felt strongly about the issue, so I would have to re-do all the social marketing I did the first time, but without support as the first time as I don't expect as many people to run a second article on essentially the same topic. Of course, I may be wrong, but care2's promiscuous email mechanism is counterproductive to the effectiveness of the petitions themselves.

No privacy at Care2 and your inbox will overflow

Care2.com gives or sells your information, even if you only sign a petition. You will also be bombarded by emails for other petitions, not necessarily associated with the one you signed.
My advice is to stay away or suffer the consequences.
