Knockrobin failure

Knockrobin, Wicklow. Same UTI issue as Jan visit, but instead of antibiotics given then, was referred to A+E in St Vincent's at 4am for 'appendix' issue. Both St Vincent's and Pharmacy basically said the Dr Mansour at Caredoc had totally misdiagnosed, St Vincent's gave antibiotics and sent away. Caredoc diagnosis a waste of everyone's time and money😡😡😡

Useless service… I went to Caredoc on the cork rd…

I went to Caredoc on the cork rd Waterford at 20.30 on the 18th March. I am 75 years old and had a very severe chest infection, with pains in my ribs from coughing as well as a pain at the side of my head (this symptom is related to chest infection). I was taking 8 paracetamol a day and had been in bed continuously for the previous two days. Very unusual for me- I am active and normally a daily sea swimmer. The doctor said my chest was fine. He offered no medical advice. Said my blood pressure was a bit high and come back if I got worse ( I live 30 mins drive away). Almost a week later and a prescription for bacterial infection I got online later I am still not fully recovered. VERY poor ‘care’

Bad management

For 2 nights i rang and rang. I was on the phone for over an hour both nights. Noone answered the phone. Much later when too late I read that you can go straight to clinic if no reply but that is not advertised.
This has happened so many times.
Now I know it's a call centre that covers the whole of the country.
Sheer madness. I would love to meet the person who came up with that idea.
This is usually between 6 and 8 when first opened.
When you do get hold of someone especially very late at night they are very nice so it's not the staff ( mostly) it's the organisation behind it that's the problem.
This problem obviously leads to overcrowded A&E DEPTS. Where else are people to go.

Well able to charge, but yet not give full services

The service is very good but needs to consider the sick patients they are getting only use it due to been very sick at times when they cannot get there own doctor. My issue is with the charging and if been the same amount or a bit more cause I think it's 60 euro for your own doctor and 70 for caredoc, but I can be corrected on this, as I do not use doctors to often. Anyhow, I'm dealing with the sickness I have and really drained and not wanting to chase around, yet the caredoc only gives me a cert for three days and said that's all I can give it for! Yet she is giving you tablets and medication for over a weekand that cost 30 euro and should of been more only i had the ventalor and says it might clear up, and you have to contact your own doctor for anything else. Then I contact my doctor and show them the cert and then they say okay, here is a cert for rest
of week which will cost you 10 euro. Health care is a joke in this country and I can fully understand why some people just decide let feed off the system and get what I can cause if not it will bleed me. What's the point of using a service which cost more yet they cannot provide you with all services your own doctor can. I cannot stop coughing and it's impossible to work like this and the systems just wants to take your money off you.... rant over give full service if charging for a full service or avoid using caredoc is my advice.

What a great service

What a great service! Rang Caredoc and got to see a Doctor within an hour in Kilkenny. The doctor was an absolute pleasure to deal with! I've had a few in the past I couldn't say that about so it was a pleasant surprise! Very attentive, thorough, and very friendly. What more could you ask for!

Appalling…. It’s like the lights are on but nobody’s home

I have been on a call with Caredoc for the past hour and a half it’s still ringing as I’m typing this message. I have used their services in the past but surely we can’t blame all on Covid can we. I have walked in Caredoc before without an appointment, since Covid that’s changed too. When we were there I can’t remember phone ringing at the reception nor were there any patients, maybe one or two so what is going on ??? If they can’t stomach the business let someone else step in. This is a disgrace. If government pays their wages that explains the slow pace 🤨 absolutely appalling

I rang numerous times and all I got was…

I rang numerous times and all I got was 4 beeps and nothing else. They need enough lines that the phone will at least ring and give some indication of when a call might be answered. Clearly the "service is grossly underfunded and undermanned/underwomanned. It is definitely not providing an emergency service.

Pleasant and efficient staff.

The staff were so helpful and pleasant. From the telephone staff who were efficient and set up an appointment really quick. The two men on the desk were chatty and kind. And the new Malaysian doctor was just lovely. So happy and jolly at 12.30am. Thank you for your help. We can go on our holidays well now.
Top job, thank you 👏

Excellent service, you do have to hold the line for a bit but once you get through it’s is very efficient. I got an appointment within a half hour and was seen to straight away by Dr R Gallagher. Excellent. The Reception was outstanding everything ready. Thank you so much.

A embarrassing and incompetent service…

A embarrassing and incompetent service where people are left waiting for far too long for appointments and even then anything requiring more than paracetamol or penicillin is pushed onto already over crowded A&E departments and puts they national ambulance service under extreme pressure government should take action as most doctors in caredoc are pathetic clowns

Impossible to Get through to service

This is the second time in 8 months that I've had to get through to Caredoc. The first time, it took over an hour and a half to get somebody to talk to!!! That was before the nurse called back.
Today it took 37 minutes. I need to get an emergency prescription and the pharmacy closes at 9 pm. It's been approx 30 minutes since I spoke to the receptionist. No sign of call back from nurse.
I am sure that there have been very serious consequences for patients because of this grotesque service.
I was put through to Hazel James at CareDoc headquarters the last time it happened. The only explanation I got was that the service was very busy! So why aren't they hiring more employees!!!!!
People should be out on the street protesting about CareDoc. It's a disgrace
