What a brilliant company

What a brilliant company. Couldn't ask for a better service. Excellent all round company from management, who go above and beyond to wonderful Carers who are confident, happy, bright and well trained. Thank you for creating this wonderful company.

Honestly...No Family Run Company

Care Remedies Ltd at Old Town in Eastbourne.
Where to start? No meaningful training given during induction. Half of the training was to watch a video. Directors (mum and daughter) and Office Manager lack management skills. Soft skills towards employees are non-existent. Coordination of calls send Carers all over the place with no drive time in between calls. The company accepts all cases so be prepared to do runs where you may find yourself in a worrying situation. Not everyone was given a raise in rates. Only to favoured employees. Some Carers found out via an advert that they were under paid. What they say during the interview is totally different from reality. Care Remedies rely on two words to attract clients - FAMILY RUN. This company is anything but Family Run! More like HMP. The Director Mum who is the founder of the business and who can be fairly reasonable on a good day, has pulled back and there remains the daughter to run the show. Clients will call the office to speak to the Director Mum but these calls, and posts, get intercepted by the daughter. Care Remedies are only concerned about the weight of the Care Package of clients. For example, a client in hospital was suggested to take a 45 minute call instead of only 15 minutes, which is more than enough. Clients' families often complain to carers about the rudeness of office staff when they phone - again, no soft skills! Clients have to pay £2 just to download a list of their Carers for the week, that's £102 a year for a list that is hardly accurate as Carers often change and clients not notified. This service is given free of charge by other Agencies. Care Remedies do not do Team Meetings. Carers are lucky to meet each other during their visits. Gossips in the office are the norm.

Ok, one good thing, uniforms/gloves/aprons are free.

In summary, do not rely entirely on companies who claim that they are 'Family Run' especially when there is only one member of the 'family' in the company. Ask who are the family members in the company. Carers need support to do their job without added stress/pressure from inconsiderate employers like Care Remedies. Carers who show a bit of assertiveness can expect their hours cut! Carers meet outside in between calls to compare notes and it is obvious and evident that the office, especially the Office Manager, says different things to different carers. Some Carers have not completed their Care Standard Certificate within the 12-week requirement and are still allowed to continue to work by the management. This is not in adherance to the CQC requirements.

It has been known that 5/6 carers left in one week.

If you're looking for a care agency as a client, there are hundreds out there to choose from who are compassionate and respectful. If you're looking for a job in the care industry - avoid this one too. You are worth more elsewhere.

Looking forward to finding a company that truly CARES - and this should not be difficult to find. Any company will be good enough after Care Remedies.

And lastly.....SMILE a bit more please, it's free.
