Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the product to be incomplete and inaccurate, leading to overpaying for vehicles or discovering undisclosed damage and issues after purchase. People frequently mentioned that the service was below par and not worth the cost, with reports often lacking crucial details or containing erroneous information. The pricing for reports was also a significant point of dissatisfaction, with many finding it too expensive for the limited and often unreliable information provided. Some customers also experienced issues with the website, describing it as difficult to navigate and prone to losing search information. The overall value for money was consistently rated as poor, with many feeling that the reports offered little more than what could be found for free elsewhere.

This website / company should be shutdown!

This website / company should be shut down by the Government for provided falsified reports and information to consumers in the US. They provide zero customer support with no way to call them for assistance. The only way to reach them is by email to which no one responds to. They post incorrect information with no proof and then put the burden of proof on the owner of the vehicle. How is this legal?! And they make people pay for the false reports!!

Carfax Provides False Information

CARFAX REPORTS ARE FALSE, MISLEADING, AND DAMAGING. Though dealers seem to depend on Carfax, their information can be erroneous. I am selling my car privately. A potential dealer / buyer came, got the Carfax report on the spot, and shared the information. It showed two accidents on my vehicle, each without a Police report number or any kind of description. Accidents on a Carfax report greatly decrease the car's value, I was told. For my car, one accident was erroneous, and the other one was about a $200 dent which occured while my car was parked, I was absent, and the accident vehicle was a right-off with personal injury to the occupant, so the police had to include my car in the report. Regardless, CARFAX REPORTS ARE FALSE, MISLEADING, AND DAMAGING (with no simple way to contact or correct) AND CARFAX DOES NOT CARE TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE !!!

Carfax is great

Carfax is great! However, North Bergen Buick GMC and the manager, Dominic are a bunch of dishonest, dirtbags.

Please don't even think about buying a car there.

This company should be investigated for fraud

This company should be investigated for fraudulent business practices and for scamming consumers. The report I ordered contained erroneous information. I requested that the report be corrected and provided proof. They refused to correct the report. I then requested a full refund and they refused.

Carfax is only good for the Dealers…

Carfax is only good for the Dealers that use it to sell cars. Carfax routinely misrepresents the vehicles true history. Corporate vehicles are said to be "personal" vehicles. Dealer owned cars used as lease, loaner, or even executive vehicles are not shown to be "owned" at all until the dealer unloads the car, sometimes with 20 or 30 thousand miles on it.... The list goes on..
It is a scam

Carfax report (From a certified…

Carfax report (From a certified dealership) was incorrect on a major issue and Carfax did NOTHING for me. All they did was fix the report on there end.

Carfax read that the vehicle had replaced the transmission and torque converter. After driving the car for a week I noticed it shaking, brought it to my auto tech and they said it need a new transmission and torque converter. I told them that the carfax said it was replaced, auto tech said " it was never touched." So I called the certified dealership that noted the work and their response was "we only suggested it".

Email Carfax on my findings and their response was we will take the work done off the Carfax report!! NO HELP TO THE CONSUMER!! Its that their business to help the consumer??

Carfax is a joke!

Beware of Inaccurate Reports - Don't Trust Them

I always believed CARFAX reports were reliable and accurate—until I had to deal with them firsthand. My vehicle's report is full of errors, including a completely false accident in a province it was never in, incorrect ownership history, and inaccurate service records. When I contacted CARFAX, they told me to track down the police, service centers, and other sources to fix their mistakes—despite charging people for these reports as if they’re verified facts.

If you’re buying a car, don’t assume a CARFAX report tells the full truth. And if you’re selling, be prepared to fight for corrections if errors appear. CARFAX takes zero responsibility for the accuracy of the information they profit from, leaving sellers to deal with the consequences.

I highly recommend verifying vehicle history through multiple sources before making a decision. Don’t use CARFAX—it could cost you.

Carfax is a complete scam!

Carfax is a complete scam!

They have a report on my vehicle that I never even signed up for. Allstate sold them an estimate for repairs—not even a final bill! And now, Carfax is falsely reporting feathering and color matching as "damage." Seriously? Paint matching is not damage!

This was a brand-new truck parked on private property when it was hit in a hit-and-run. The damage was minor, only on the right side, but the way Carfax reported it makes it look like a major accident. There wasn’t even a police report, just a simple incident report—yet Carfax refuses to acknowledge it. Why? Because including the actual police report would expose their false claims!

Carfax is completely unreliable and deceptive. They act like they are the ultimate authority, but in reality, they are just spreading false and misleading information. Their worthless reports are based on estimates, not actual repairs, and they ruin vehicle histories with inaccurate data.

At the end of the day, Carfax is nothing but a joke, profiting off false information while hurting innocent vehicle owners. Avoid them at all costs! 🚨

I was told my vehicle was 100% clear of…

I was told my vehicle was 100% clear of accidents and no damage. I bought the vehicle and come to find out from my insurance agent the vehicle was involved in a brutal accident AND a car chase AND discrepancy in the title. This all sounds totally illegal and I promise you it will be investigated and taken to court. Karma. And now I have to pay an insane amount in insurance because of it. This was absolutely 100% not my fault so why am I being punished? I promise you I will be taking legal action on this matter
