Great experience with Drive-A-Matic, and Sophia and Patrick were both amazing. The only downside was that the car had some sill damage before I got it (some of the potholes in Barbados are crazy - drive slow!). This was duly logged by the agent, but there was hidden damage to the wheel rim, eventually leaving me with a slow puncture. However, this company has a great focus on customer service and they weren't about to leave me waiting around. I decided to have a go changing the tyre myself, but Patrick arrived with a spare tyre before I had the first lugnut off and had me back on the road in maybe 5 minutes? Even though it was a pain to have to deal with a flat tyre, when I saw where the damage was on the inside of the rim, there's no way the company could have known beforehand without putting the car on a lift. Aside from that, this little car was a star, easy to drive, with the best air conditioning ever, and it was really easy on petrol. Next time I'm on one of the islands, I'll definitely use them again. Great service! Drive-a-Matic's policy of picking up or delivering a car to anywhere on island was a real , value added benefit for our three rentals.

We rented a sailboat based in Jolly Harbour. When we arrived we needed a single day's rental to transfer ourselves and luggage to Jolly Harbour. And also to buy provisions and other needs. When I made the reservation I was not sure how, when we were done with it, how I would return the car back to Drive-a-Matic, then get back to Jolly Harbour. No problem? I left the keys in the locked car at the Jolly Harbour parking lot and Drive-a-Matic picked up the car. We rented the car at the end of our sailing for the opposite purpose. Again Drive-a-Matic provided excellent service, dropping off the car at the Harbour and we turned in in at their off-airport lot.

While sailing we had some bad luck. Our boat was hit by lightning early in the morning and eventually burned up and sunk. Drive-a Matic to the rescue again, meeting us at the ferry dock, with a car and again picking it up at the Harbour.

All three times I felt like Drive-a-Matic staff knew who I was, what I was asking and responded with a positive willingness to be of help. Smiles all around. Their rates are competitive. They deserve your business.

I booked a vehicle with Drive-A-Matic Antigua in Dec 19 - Jan 20. The customer service and professional approach from the staff was top notch. From picking up the vehicle to returning the vehicle was hassle free and straight forward. Will definitely use this company again. Keep up the good work.

Having spent ages clearing immigration, customs and retrieving our luggage we were waiting at the designated area for our hire car which for some reason had ‘got lost’

The young lady (Shontora ?) spotted we had been waiting a while and without our having to complain she immediately found us another similar car to the one we had elected to rent - she also helped us with our luggage.

Furthermore, she offered to give us an upgrade of vehicle the next day which we gladly accepted as it was a much superior vehicle and almost new. It was duly delivered to us (on the other side of the island) as promised

That’s what I call good customer service - turning a ‘negative’ into a ‘positive‘

We booked a week rental with Drive-a-Matic in Antigua and the service we received was awesome.

Simone was waiting for us at the airport. A quick shuttle hop to the rental office and we were on the road in less than 15 minutes.

So thank you Simone for everything.

Used Drive-A-Matic for our trip to Barbados. Can't say enough about customer service, it was great. Car was waiting for us at the airport as prearranged. We rented for 6 days but only used for 3. No problem in returning early and refund was made with no hassle. I would definitely use Drive-A-Matic again.

I was a bit apprehensive reading some reviews but I am so glad that I decided to book with Drive-A-Matic in Barbados. From the time of the booking process Valencia answered all questions I had. I was VERY specific with the type of car that I wanted (Suzuki Jimny Sport hardtop) and this was one of the only companies on the island to have this new car. Valencia assured me that I would receive that exact vehicle, they just couldn't guarantee the color which I obviously
understood. They delivered the exact vehicle to me AND in the color I wanted. The price for the rental was competitive with the full insurance. I had no issues. The office is right outside of the airport gates and given that I pre-registered, there wasn't any long hassle to receive the car. They had me in and out upon check-in and when returning the vehicle. I would gladly rent from them again!

Hired a car for 9 days and were excellent on several occasions. Firstly car was new, clean and worked great. They were also very easy to reach on phone and email when I wanted to change date of the booking at short notice.

When I needed the agents to add an additional driver mid-booking they drove round with the paper work to me within 30 minutes which was great service.

Finally it was the honesty the company showed. I damaged the car by hitting the curb and the damage was quite reasonable - a dent into the side. You expect the worst from a car hire company in these situations, knowing they have pre-authorised $1000 on your card. They only charged $125 for the damage which I thought was extremely fair - I have no doubt that 99% of other car hire companies world wide would have exploited the situation badly.

Avoid renting from Drive-A-Matic in Barbados, Rent from the big companies which are serious and respect the customer’s rights. Last week I have been in Bridgetown with my daughter and unfortunately she has rented a car from Drive-A-Matic, it is expensive, they provide you a crappy car, they come to inspect the car at the hotel parking during the night while you sleep what I consider an invasion of privacy. When you rent they do not offer you the option of a full Insurance because they know that when you return the car they will find a way to debit your credit card with the excess amount. It’s a real SCAM!!!

Absolutely dissatisfied with this company. I hired the car online for approx
£210 for a week, then was charged approx £80 for insurance for a week.
Hence total cost of the car was £290. They then gave me a car that I hated.
Very unhappy as I was visiting my parents who had been taken into
hospital, just made things worse. To avoid you going threw the same
experience don't use this company and find a cheaper alternative, don't
take the chance, its not worth it.
