Great salesman Karl, helpful, informative but not pushy. Made a pleasant shopping experience.

Karl Byrne -the saleman was v v helpful - good communication etc. However the communication within the branch seems non existent.The mangaer seems to take no responsibility when things go badly wrong. We were not told until almost 12 noon on fitting day - 13th June, that a third of carpet had not arrived at depot the week before, and then only when the fitter asked the manager to call us and explain. When I went into the store that day- (it was Karl's day off ) the manger said he did not know anything about it! Although when asked why we were not given some notice that the carpet had not arrived in the week before - the manager said they don't like to worry clients in case carpet turned up that morning - a Thursday. Having spent that early am moving heavy furniture only to have to move it all back again and then to prepare the room again for the following week we were very, very displeased. The following week 20th June- 2 other fitters turned up with the carpet, but the money I had been asked to pay to the first fitters was too much and second fitters refused to do it for the balance. It was not until I had complained strongly to manager that he agreed they should invoice Carpetright for balance. They also arrived without a chrome bar needed.
I will never use Carpetright again despite having had several carpets orders from them over the past 13 years. It is a hopeless system and bad management within that store Eastbourne.

I am on crutches and went to the Eastbourne shop to purchase 2 coir matts in a particular size. The sales person sat at the desk and justt watched me for 5 minutes while I made my way to speak to her. At no point did it occur to her to ask how she could assist. I explained that given my condition could not cut these down myself, but would pay more if necessary to get the correct size. My receipt says the correct size exactly. I got home and it took me 1/2 hour with crutches to get these to the house--my problem, not Carpetright. I then discovered they had not been cutt to the correct width. I rang the the same sales person said, and I quote, "my bad." It was only then she explained that they are not allowed to cut to the correct width- but if I brought them back in again and took responsibility for the cutting myself then they could cut it for me. Repeating the time to put these back in the car when I go there they cut them down, again without appologly of any kind. When they put them in the car (I cannot do this) I said thank you and received a 'no problem' in response. This shop does not care about the customer experience...AVOID, particularly if you are disabled.

Welcomed to store and ask if I needed assistance. I spent sometime looking at various beds , the salesman was attentive but I was given no hard sale or interference until I had made my choice. He dealt with my purchase quickly and efficiently. I left the store feeling positive and happy with the service I was given. Well done, I have already recommended the shop to my daughter. Very easy to book in fitting and supply of carpet. Manager was very supportive in getting carpet fitted on a specific day due to circumstances.
