Kayak sent me to this website when I…
Kayak sent me to this website when I thought it had sent me to Hertz. I rented a car in April for a trip in June, and now I find the car is not needed, and I'm unable to cancel it because it was pre-paid. this is outrageous. They have had the use of my money for over a month, and I am unable to use the car. I imagine this was noted somewhere in the mile long disclosure but I missed it.
BEEARE I paid for a car rental and when…
BEEARE I paid for a car rental and when I arrived was denied, they wanted an extra $60 per day for their insurance and would not honour the carrentals.con insurance, my own car insurance, or insurance included with my credit card. So they refused to give me my rental I already paid for and carrentals.com refused to give me my money back. Huge scam I can believe a company like this is affiliated with Expedia I no longer trust that entire group of companies, this can’t be legal,

Subject: Review about Rentalcars.com
Date of order: April 03 2024
Use of car: April 07 2024 to April 13 2024
Location: Dubrovnic Airport
Designated local partner by Carrental.com: Goldcar
Advertising by Carrental.com: the cfheapest rental in the world.
The order reference:: Rentalcars.com // 733664578 //
The problem: the rental was twice more expensive than with competitors due to the behaviour at Goldcar Dubrovnik. As I paid th rental to Carrentals.com, this company is normally responsible for the mishandling of the reservation by its designated correspondent at the location.
Since more than one month, I try to have Carrentals.com refunding the excess unduly charged or retained by its Dubrovnic correspondent.
My claim is for the refund of € 165
Responding, Carrentals.com is using all the possible tricks to avoid addressing my requests.
Surprising is also the fact that it is impossible to enter a negative review about the behaviour at Carrentals.com and that Carrentals.com denies to explain how to make such a review.

Details of the claim as itrodced and repeated many times without any real answer:

I paid a full insurance to be safer and to avoid making the € 1,250 deposit.
I did show to the Goldcar employee at Dubrovnik airport the voucher for the reservation with the mention of the deposit. I did also show the full coverage insurance I bought with Carrental..
He had no reason to reject the effect of the full insurance except for making profit on the new full insurance he did sell.
I did recently rent cars with Alamo and Hertz taking the full insurance. I did not have to make any deposit and I ended paying strictly what was agreed. With Carrents and Goldcar, this is completely different and very expensive.
The conclusion is that any insurance covering the full risks and issued by Carrental is not accepted by Goldcar
The second conclusion is that Carrentals supports crooks operating in its subsidiaries.
The third conclusion is that the employees of Goldcar can force the customers sent by Carrentals to buy expensive insurance. They do not have to worry about any consequence as Carrentals support them. They do not have to give any invoice. They can decide that they do not repair a car and force the customer to pay for repair they will not make.
As my reservation and the initial full insurance was paid to Carrental, I had a refund of the initial insurance without any problem.
But as Carrentals is responsible for the choice of its subsidiary in Croatia, and the employees of this subsidiary are cheeting the customers with the knowledge of Carrentals this is the job of Carrentals to make sure that the customers are treated correctly.
Carrentals is fully aware that introduce a claim to the Dubrovnik office is a non sense
I want that the excess paid including the € 62.50 + € 52.50 + a part of the cost of the insurance for which I did not receive any invoice or receipt. I would suggest an additional € 50.
I can show my credit card list of payments made for this reservation.
How Carrentals recovers this money is not my problem
I expect a refund at the level of € 165 immediately
Scammers of the worst kind.
Rented car for one week in Albania. Place was hard to find and then wouldn't honor the voucher. Had to get another car and then CR wouldn't return my money so paid more then double. Avoid at all costs!
Do not use Carrentals.com
I paid in advance for a car rental with carrentals.com. they directed me to go to their agent NU car rentals in Los Angeles. Their paperwork told me to bring a valid driver's license which I did. NU told me that they would not rent a car to me unless I had two utility bills with my name and address on them. I told them this information was not on the rental agreement.
They told me they could not refund my money and I would have to get my refund from carrentals.com. When I contacted carrentals.com they just gave me the run around and would not refund my money.
They did not want to provide a car…
They did not want to provide a car because of my age 71. This requirement came up after I completed and paid. Subsequently they refused to refund my €500 payment. This is called failure to provide and misrepresentation. Age discrimination applied at will. Never use this company as they are crooks
Customer Service Fail
I rented a car from Budget for 3 days through Carrentals in January this year. Over two months later, without any forwarning, reason or authorisation, Budget took money from my credit card. My emailed requests to Budget for an explanation have gone unanswered. I have since sought a resolution from Carrentals as it is from them that I booked the car. They have offered no support and have effectively distanced themselves from the rental company that they actively promote. Carrentals will happily take your money but if anything goes wrong do not expect any surport from them whatsoever.
STAY AWAY
STAY AWAY! SCAM ALERT!
I made a reservation for a car that was TWO WEEKS AWAY. Things changed so I attempted to modify the reservation. There was no option for me to modify so I canceled and rebooked with the SAME company, carrentals.com. I realized they charged me $50, which was confusing because I did not see a cancellation fee mentioned upon booking. I called to get the $50 waived because I REBOOKED which the correct dates. They kept saying that they couldn't and that "its in the policy" even though the original reservation was TWO weeks away and I made another reservation with them.
So now, I chose not use them AT ALL. With any emergency or changes, you cannot modify the reservation. PLEASE CHOOSE ANOTHER COMPANY.
They have bad policies. Very predatory SCAMMERS.
I feel hosed
RE: CarRentals Itinerary 72682599790835 - I've rented cars from carrentals.com before and always had good luck. This time was not as lucky. What started out as a $168.00 rental turned into a rental over $500.00 after NU Car Rentals/Action Rentals got through with me. I posted a review on NU but feel CarRentals.com was the originator of where I started. My rental was for 7 days and I traveled a grand total of 98 miles. I only went through four tolls and and paid 13.99 a day for tolls. I used less than a quarter of a tank of gas but was charge for their gas, that was supposedly cheaper and was going to save me money. Just be very vigiiant what you're buying and what you're getting. Read all the fine print on when you get to the rental place. It appears, CarRentals.com, NU and Action are all tied together. There was no reason I should have paid for collision when I brought my dec sheet to the counter. I was told by NU that only CarRentals.com could reimburse me and I had to deal directly with them. Live and learn. I'll go through the rental company directly next time rather than deal with NU where an employee was vaping right at the key pick up counter outside. My car rental per day cost me almost as much as my room. I'm so disappointed and feel so hosed.

They took our money and sent us to pick up the car at a Thrifty office that was CLOSED. After an hour in the phone maze and on hold, the best they can do is offer an email address to file a complaint.
STAY AWAY!
"Maybe" a little cheaper but expensive in the end.
I booked a car and moments after realized the pickup location wasn't actually at the airport (ORF) even though I started the search with the airport code. Immediately I tried to contact them - but to no avail. Rental was for a Hertz car - no help from them either. You may be able to save a couple of dollars when using this outfit but if something goes wrong - don't expect any form of help. This will be a site to avoid here on out!
Buyer beware
Buyer beware! I had traveled for my brother’s surgery and rented a Hertz car through Rentalcars.com because they showed the best daily rate. The surgery got cancelled so I didn’t need the car for the full time I reserved and returned it to Hertz four days early. Rentalcars.com has fine print that says you will pay the number of reservation days even if you don’t use all of them. If I had booked directly from Hertz, they told me they only charge for the actual days you have the car even if it was reserved longer. There were also additional airport fees I had to pay Hertz direct upon return that were not in what I paid carrentals.com, so the price quoted me when I made reservation was less than what I had to pay in total even if I had kept the car for the full number of days reserved. Read their fine print carefully! I will never book through them again, after learning this lesson the hard way!
Scammers
I booked a rental car for 28 days through their website and canceled because I mistakenly booked a car for San Jose, California instead of San Jose, Costa Rica. I called rental car agency Payless and canceled the car. In the agreement with Carrental.com, they include a statement that says if you don’t get any of your money back if you don’t cancel in time. Lost $1300 even though Payless cancelled the car and rentalcars.com did nothing but include a statement which is pretty much a scam.🤯
Hidden fees exposed
This is just a note for future clients so they're not surprised when faced with fees hidden in fine prints.
First, U-Save will not accept the liability insurance you have. You must buy it from them or no car for you.
A copy-paste for you from my invoice (Orlando, Florida) for a 6-day booking (Dodge Charger, not the Nissan car they've advertised when booking):
6 Day(s) @6.90 Charged 6 Day(s)
RATE CHARGE 41.40
SLI - SUPPLEMENTAL LIABILITY INSURANCE 132.00
FL SALES TAX 18.79
FL SURCHARGE 12.30
PRIVILEGE FEE REC 28.91
FACILITY CHARGE 29.94
ENERGY RECOVERY FEE 14.94
TOURISM FEE 12.00
VEHICLE LICENSE FEE 29.94
Total Charges 320.22
This should help you decide if it's worth haggling for a few dollars or pick up a car directly at the Orlando airport.
You paying + 50% of actual price
Saw that they charged close to 50% of the actual price.
I pay 65 to them , and rental company only 40 , and the terms and conditions don't align with the terms and conditions of the actual rental company. Hence why I saw this info.
Should have come here before .
Can't find my booking
I tried to login today so I could get my holiday documents together for August this year.
Checked all of my emails (because I have 5) to look for the confirmation email as I am the one who made and paid for the booking, so you would assume that I'd receive the email considering I'd give them my address and billing info. I have contacted customer service regarding getting a confirmation email or my reference number and they CANNOT find my booking. Now, 5 emails in, I have discovered that they won't speak to me about it as I'm not the driver.
Just go directly to a rental company and do not bother using this website.
This site is a rip off
This site is a rip off. I called ahead to ensure I could use my own insurance and they said no problem as long as I brought a copy of my coverage page. When I got to the rental office, I was told there was a problem within their system and I would have to pay $235 extra for the insurance unless I wanted to wait 3 hours for the system to come back on line, Needless to say I told them to credit me and shove their car up their butts and went elsewhere. Never got the credit until I made 2 phone calls and emails
DO NOT use this company
DO NOT use this company. I booked a car and had to take a shuttle from the airport to the offsite lot which took 45 minutes. When I arrived I was told that I was 22 minutes late for my reservation time so it was void and I would have to reach out to the booking site directly because the partner car rental company couldn’t access the booking anymore and I was considered a no show. I called car rentals.com and got a message that they were closed and to call back during normal hours - which by the way this was 4pm I called them so not an unreasonable time for a company to be open. So I was left without a rental car that was paid in full and wasted almost two hours of time between the shuttle and customer service and trying to get the online chat system to respond to me in any way that would help. I was told to wait for the shuttle to take me back to the main terminal and talk to someone else there. Save yourself a huge headache and just book directly with a company so you will not end up carless.
Rentalcars.com if you know it you Avoid it!
Rentalcars.com is a booking.com unit based in UK with global BPO partners. I would like to bring to the attention of the users of this platform the company's total lack of ethics towards both customers & employees. Rentalcars.com in particular is a platform that, believe me, you would never ever use, had you worked for them. You as a customer may find apparent good deals but you'll pay them dearly in case of any trivial detail goes wrong just because you missed to read that small clause in that almost hidden paragraph on the online platform. My suggestion would be to book directly with the car rental company.
Do not use carrentals.com
This company cancelled my booking that was fully paid because I was late picking up the vehicle due to flight changes. I had to book another vehicle which was way more expensive. They have been very unreasonable. Book direct and save yourself the headache.
