Never trust the people at car toys they will lie to you they will try to upsell you why they have your car in pieces and have you at their mercy they did a terrible job on $8000 car stereo installation that made my car inoperable and now they are refusing to fix it because they say that they are no longer the same company because that company went bankrupt and they new owners are using the same name the same signs the same location but will not honor the warranty these are a bunch of scam artist and crooks
I’d like to begin by saying my…don’t use car toys in Frisco , nor any of DFW
I’d like to begin by saying my expectation because car toys, of most all Dallas DFW installations is one of the higher cost which should come with very high service . At this time if I could rate this business at a negative star, I’d rate neg 2 Stars. I’ve usually used Dallas local shops or my fav grocery n Harry Hines which surpassingly I’ve never had an issue over the last 7-8 years and with 4-5 vehicle with numerous upgrades . I entered car toys with 3 items , I specificity this because had I had many items my first issue of one item not being installed would be understandable had I had 6-7 or more items . I had 1 amp , 1 sub , 1 box with teeters . My amp was 5 channels and I requested all channels be used individually for each speaker sets ( doors , dash and rear doors )
Upon arrival as I walked to my vehicle out of the blue the installer advises me that “ oh we didn’t install the tweeters , we forgot to add it to the installation charge sheet “ I was baffled and asked why no call but I said what’s in my dash and he advised my factory “
I was upset but said let’s listen and see . We discussed this and I advised I’d ride for 1-2 days test the sound and if it’s unsatisfactory I’d expect them to correct and install what I originally requested .
We come to today , after calling the day before upset and complaining about the manner in which my 5 channel amp was installed as I requested individually installed on each channel as well the factory dash tweeter are getting the sound is like , today I speak with the installer after requesting the manager , he begin twisting our conversation with an excuse that I inquired about an upgrade I’d like to complete later in the future with newer tweeters , as the reason why he did not install the tweeter I brought in . I went over with him our original conversation as car toys made an error while at the counter writting up my ticket for installation they were aware of my 3 items as they acknowledge it was only 3 , but they forgot to add the tweeter installation to my ticket . The install gentlemen advised it wasn’t an error , then proceeded to convince me I’d told him I was going to later add upgrade tweeters and he thought I did not want to install . This is where I became upset , errors happen , but pretending there is no error or accepting ownership is a very bad look on a business . I advised him , the discussion for an upgrade tweeter in the future did not happen until well after we’d already written my installation ticket up . There is no way this excuse can be used, it’s obvious you forgot to add the installation
Second most important part was if asked the floor manager yesterday why I was not called once it was discovered the install was not added on my ticket so that we can discuss & was this a united decision to not just install , I was told they were not notified of the error and installed made the decision not to contact the customer ( me ) and to just install factory speakers
I regret having to give a negative star because as much as car toys charges and the supposed reputation , I’d take it that being they made an error they would offer to install my tweeters at their expense as well make the correction to how I requested my channeled amp to be installed . I HIGHLY RECOMEND NOT USING FRISCO LOCATION. I’d recommend not using car toys period and looking through the more then 6 dozen professional car stereo install shops throughout Dallas DFW . This has been a poor experience which is going to cost me more for having to go into one my other Dallas shops and having the completed install I originally requested and paid for
To make it worst, the installer offered to charge me partial charge to install the tweeters they forgot to install , further inconvenience of dropping my vehicle and waiting . I asked him, if your statement that you made no error is true why offer a discount . The offer in my assumption was a half a$$ attempt at satisfying a customer which I expect from low class install shops

I had used them in the past at a different 'now closed location. Now after Car Toys had financial issues shutting down many of their stores the honesty and professionalism doesn't exist. Beware!! Never use them unless you want to be lied to and them trying to take advantage of you!!

I put a $600.00 deposit on a $1,600.00 car system back in August. They had to order a part for the installation and the manager said he would call me back when the part arrived. I never received a phone call so I went to the store just to find out they went out of business in AUGUST! They knew they were going out of business the day they accepted my $600,00
Now they've been purchased by a new group and they are scumbags just like the prior owners. Saying they will not honor any previous sales.
No customer service ethic
This is a horrible company with no customer service ethic. Our stereo broke, they received the money from the extended warranty company and refused to put in a new radio. A dishonorable group. Never do business with them. The new owners D and R refuse to return phone calls. Very poor business practices
Process West Ranger Raptor Air Intake
I was led to this site after query through ChatGPT and secured a great price. This was the final piece I required after buying all my Process West cross over and intercooler pipes direct from Process West. The only hiccup I had was with their website not showing the item had been shipped. I just left a message with them and they were very quick to respond. It turns out Direct Freight is the shipping company used, I suspect this item came direct from Process West in NSW rather than from the CarToys warehouse. All in all I had very quick delivery and the Process West gear is exceptional with precision fitment. Highly recommended
At this point of not having a stereo…
At this point of not having a stereo for 4 months after they said it had to be sent in for repair and not swapped out like the 400 dollar 4 year no questions asked warranty stated I will make sure to never spend a dime in there again and go out of my way to tell anyone that listens to spend their hard earned money elsewhere......everything I call to get answers I get rude employees saying 5o call back because apparently there aren't ever any managers there......odd.....I paid for the warranty now they need to live up to their part of the deal......I even told them I would put more money towards a better unit and still......never have I seen such inept workers or maybe that they are so good at just not answering questions that I'll never have my 980 dollar stereo again.........my original install was 5300 dollars.......so ya im little bent out of shape....

Went to the Car Toys store in Tigard, OR and Rene, the Manager and John, the Asst Mgr, were both very courteous, helpful and professional. They tried to resolve the audio problem with my MBZ S550 but were unable to fix the issue. Even though they were unable to fix the audio issue, it was a great experience. Kudos. Sue Walter

I had a good experience at the puyallup location, they replaced my speakers and tweeters in my Chevrolet Silverado. Dale was the installer and I will go back and get the speakers replaced in the back doors.
Purchased a dash camera
Purchased a dash camera with an additional back window camera in October of 2024. The back camera never worked, and the system was never tested at time of installation. I went back to CarToys in Plano and the installer could not figure out what was wrong, so I was told the cameras needed to be replaced and he would have to order a new one and it would be back in one to two days. I called back in three days later and was told the new camera has not arrived, and not to call back in. CarToys would call me when it came in. I again waited over a week and no call. I reached out to CarToys 1-800 number and left a message and was told I would receive a call back in 24 hours. Never received a call. I then called CarToys in Plano and ask that the system be removed, and a refund given, and magically the new camera was in and had been in for five days. I went back to CarToys in Plano and the cameras were switched out and I was told it was good to go. Before I drove out of the parking lot, I accessed the cameras through the app and the rear camera did not work. I knocked on the service door and ask the installer to check the system again. He said," the blue light came on". The installer tested the system and found the main wiring harness was defective. I believe all this could have been avoided if the system was tested at time of install.

CD player was incompatible with my car
I asked the store to install a CD player in my car. They could only order 1. It was incompatible with my car (so they discovered). I paid for the CD player and the install. They would not take back the CD player and kept the money for the install. Terrible customer service. Will not go there again.

BEWARE! Car Toys on 2650 S Texas 6, Houston, TX 77082.
My mistake is trusting this company to install a back-up camera, radio, and sound system to our C300. Invoice#09163WOZFFQ. They made a hole on the car’s firewall and the trunk to run the wiring for the system. Rain water dripped through the holes and flooded the inside of the car, short circuiting the wiring and burning the car’s ECU. We’re $9k deep into repairs and still going. We’ve reached out to the manager of the store and he has acknowledged, talked to our mechanic. and asked for pictures, video, and quotes which we have complied to. They have not replied as of this date.
Broke things and couldn’t complete the task
I purchased a detail from their Parker, CO location. Nothing was done to the vehicle except maybe a quick dash wipe. It wasn’t vacuumed, the steering wheel and middle consoles were still trashed, even just basic trash was left lying on the seat. Waste of money and time. Stay away and use another service.
Don't bother trying to get a straight price, or answer
Second year in a row I tried to buy a remote start system.

$229 remote start sale, install included.
Well the first year I brought my wife's car in to get her a remote start and $229 sounds great. So I bring it in and go to buy the system.
Well the $229 doesn't include the reciever. Another $100 but youve got to have it. Also it's a kia so another $250 in parts should put it at $569.
Can't afford double this year so I wait.
Next year comes around, I call in ahead of time with all the car info. $569 final price. Okay I'm ready this year.
Show up again, well it's a $15 extra charge for the labor because now kias don't qualify for the sale install price. Uh what? Since when? Oh and now we want to charge an extra $100 in labor for the other parts you need as well.
So now you want $690?
I would find a company who will give you an honest price the FIRST time. I can't get these clowns to even give me their own price.
When I called the salesman on the new fees he told me it was my fault for getting a quote over the phone because they want to see the car.
It's the same car the first second and last time. He couldn't explain how he had a different price even though he never looked at the car and just entered the information I gave him.
I don't understand what they're doing here but if their customer service is indicative of their work ethic and
organization then would rather crush my toes with a hammer than try to do business with them. And if they can't get the details right I would never let them touch my vehicles.

Avoid at all costs
They'll charge you three times what it should cost to do simple jobs. I had nothing but trouble from the Tacoma location. My personal favorite was the tech placing his razor blades on my leather seats. That was cute.
