Bring a Mechanic

I bought a used 2010 Subaru WRX from Cascade Motors in February 2025. It had a bad engine, and they rebuilt it at their expense, and in their shop. 3000 miles and 7 months later, the newly rebuilt engine is leaking cheap coolant and oil all over my condo complex's brand new tarmac.

I tried to contact Cascade Motors nearly 2 weeks ago, to ask them about what warranty their $3500 rebuild service comes with. Thing is, they will not answer their phone, my texts, or emails. Some of them frantic.

In talking with others about Cascade Motors, I learned they have a reputation of less than ethical business practices. Their good reviews online are normally coaxed or compensated. So, I don't have much hope is a positive solution.

The longer they run from their responsibility, the better chance they have of any backing behind their expensive engine rebuilds will expire. Saving them money, and costing me thousands $$$.

The Oregon State Department of Justice and the Better Business Bureau both agree that this amounts to an overstep for the business, but have yet to make a determination. As of now there is no resolution.

Be careful with them. They buy WRX's up, but only do questionable work to get them ready for sale. They might look cool as a WRX rebuilder, but they use cheap parts, that I found out don't last very long.

* I had to buy $320 in TPS sensors for the tires, an alternator, and an actual battery in order for the car to even start after getting it back from the rebuild too. $850 out of pocket on basically day one.

Don't trust them. Make sure every filter is new, and that the battery isn't the one they use. It's terrible, and I can't believe they can keep a straight face knowing how bad they are. Don't buy anything from them unless they do these things.
