Shocking scruffy a shambles

Golf course is in shocking order. No grass divots on fairways. Around the greens weeds tufty bits of grass no decent lies. Greens bumpy slow and just looking ugly. Half hearted attempt on water hazards again looking rough and untidy. This is not worth £25 a round let alone £85. Don't waste ya money.

Unprofessional and Untrustworthy

I would advise anyone thinking of using Castle Residential to be extremely cautious. To start with I cannot see that they are regulated at all, no logo or reference on their website, and when I asked John which regulatory body they were with he said 'I'm not telling you that'.

We needed to clear out our son's flat, so as guarantor I gave them in writing one month's notice of termination of his tenancy.

Towards the end of that notice the landlord asked if new tenants could move in five days early as they had to vacate their flat before the termination of my son's tenancy. I agreed on the basis that the new tenants paid the equivalent rent for those days to my son to which they initially agreed. The landlord agreed that this would be a private arrangement between our son and the new tenants.

The new tenant then later told me that John had told them they didn't need to pay my son the rent as John had raised a new tenancy agreement from the day they moved in. This meant there were overlapping tenancy agreements on the same property which is illegal and the landlord was also aware of this.

When I remonstrated with John he was very dismissive of it saying I had terminated my son's tenancy by passing the keys over. This was not the case, and my son's tenancy was still live until the date in the notice letter. When I asked him for a refund therefore of the 5 days rent he said I would have to ask the landlord for that. They refused to pay it.

This whole experience had left a bitter taste and I would advise anyone thinking of using Castle Residential in Worthing to look elsewhere. I regret having to leave even one star for them but it is necessary to allow this review to be posted.

Disability Discrimination

Please beware of this "business". I really hate to give even one star. All I asked for is my deposit to be returned to me after I was discriminated against because of my disability and left homeless after dealing with John and Castle Residential Lettings in Worthing West Sussex.

I am disabled and need a trained and certified Assistance/Service Dog (A/S Dog) to help me live. I had paid the deposit, was approved financially, and was ready to sign the contract on a flat when I happened to mention to John that I require an A/S Dog for my daily living. He became rather cross and told me "you said you didn't have any pets. You have misled us and therefore we cannot help you any further."

I tried to explain to him that an A/S Dog is not ever classified or referred to as a pet but rather a trained and certified animal necessary for the owner to live and function in every day life. I did not give false information or mislead him. I further explained the Equality Act of 2010 makes it against the law for service providers, including landlords, rental agencies and housing associations to treat disabled people less favourably because of their disability, or because they rely on an assistance dog or guide dog. A landlord may be required to make changes to any policies or practices they have which may disadvantage a tenant because of their disability. This includes making changes to a tenancy agreement. For example, saying pets are not allowed in the property should be changed to allow a disabled person to have their assistance dog.

I'm not sure if John or any one at this "business" read any of this information or any of my emails because from the point of being accused of lying and being dismissed, I was completely ignored. I sent rang and sent email messages begging and pleading that if they couldn't let me the flat to please, at least, return the deposit to me. Nothing. Nada. They completely ignored me as if I was nothing worth responding to. I'm not sure if you know what it feels like to be discriminated against for something you have no control over. The fact that you need an Assitance/Service Dog, a wheelchair, that you are hearing or sight impaired, or whatever you may need to live this life should not have any impact on whether or not you are allowed to let a place to live in. It is the worst feeling in the world to experience discrimination.

Honestly, I did not mislead anyone, I'm just trying to live my life as normal as I can. Would it have been too much to at least let me have the deposit back so that I may find another place to live? Well, since my emails and calls have been ignored for over a year now, I guess it is too much. Shame on you John and Castle Residential Lettings, shame on you.

I have all correspondence available should anyone have any doubts about my experience with this "business".

Dreadful service

I recently bought a property that has been "managed" by Castle Residential. It was clear right from the first viewing that the property and sitting tenants have not been at all served by the letting agents, who have just been taking their 10% and doing little to no management whatsoever. The most worrying thing was a fire alarm that was beeping a fault warning. When I asked the tenants how long this had gone on for they said a year. A guy had come and had a look then said he would go and tell the agency, which was the last they heard of it. I decided to cancel the contract with them, but it took the best part of a week to send a confirmation email to the tenants. I had to call them repeatedly today to chase this, finally got through to one of their managers, Jacqueline, who was incredibly rude and argumentative, implying that I was in the wrong right from the get go without bothering to listen to me. Judging by the other reviews on here, they are just another corporate letting agent who don't give a toss about their customers.

There is a business of the same name in the UK that is not a limited Company

It is a constant problem with Trust pilot that they cannot differentiate between a Limited Company, listed on the UK Register of Companies, and a partnership or individual trader using a similar trading name.

It is even more confusing when the website associated with has "co.uk" in the title and that is then wrongly registered as the trading name instead of "Limited" or "Ltd"

CastleResidential, which is a registered UK Limited Company is a different entity to Castle Residential that is a successful business partnership in Worthing West Sussex.

My excellent report here is based on two years outstanding customer relationship with Castle Residential, Worthing, West Sussex. It is sad I cannot post a link to their website or easily able to place the review in the correct place or provide their correct email address!

UNTIL THIS IS CLARIFIED BY TRUST PILOT IT MAY BE THAT SOME REVIEWS HERE REFER TO THE WRONG BUSINESS!

Unprofessional and Rude

To be brief avoid this company at all costs. I wish I looked over there reviews form this and other sites before working with them.

Absolutely rude and unprofessional they do not want to help you or retain you as a customer they take your money and you never hear from them again. I had to go to court in order to receive a refund. What a joke !

Do not use this company...

How I wish I had read reviews before choosing Castle Residential as my Letting Agent! All went well for a while but only because there were no problems! This year alone we have found ourselves owing £1500 in Council Tax while a tenant was in the property; having to pay late fees to two different agencies, to the sum of £263 and all due to the incompetency and inefficiency of the staff. We are moving on, but even now, in light of the stress and anxiety caused over the last 6 months, no one has apologised nor was any effort made to rectify the problems without constant pressure from myself. To allow us to move away, 6 months' Management Fee was taken from our final rent payment without any notice or permission from us. I was concerned about telling my present tenant but he is delighted as he too has found Castle unhelpful and obstructive.
