Cat removed

Adopted a 1 year old cat that had been removed from it's previous home. He arrived having had presumably no medical care with horrible diarrhea. We were then suddenly advised to return him to his previous owners. CPL have either caused 2 owners (us and previous owners) heartache by removing a cat unnecessarily, or returned a cat to a known abusive situation.

Absolute disgrace!!

Absolute disgrace!!!

I ve reported many stray cats on near by where I live street in Walsall. People who live there told me, that they have reported these cats to CP long time ago, and they said they will come, but have done nothing so far. Cats are multiplying and nobody does nothing about it.
So, I ve reported these poor cats again to CP. Among pregnant females there was also disabled blind cat.
I volunteer sometimes for small rescue, and lady who run this rescue said, if CP doesn't do anything, she will help with neutering. I just managed to get blind cat(thank God!!!) and CP Walsall Lisa called me and started accusing me, that I am pretending to be from CP. And she had a problem, that I've reported these cats, how dare I, because I don't live on that street!!! I ve explained to her, that I volunteer for little rescue sometimes, but she was on and on.... Shouting :stop going and pretending you are from CP !!!🤣Seriously guys.
This woman is absolutely vile, delusional and mentally unstable, highly manipulative pathological liar. She has got her own narrative in a head and reality doesn't get through her. Even some vets rolling eyes when mentioning her calling her difficult.
She doesn't give a damn about these animals at all!! I ve told her I ve got blind cat, I took it of this street and guess what??? Not even question if cat is ok, if may need any help!
How on earth, you could of put such vile person in run of animal charity is beyond me.!!No concerns AT ALL for the poor blind kitty(But anyways, kitty is in good hands now).
They've said again, that they will come and neuter them in a week.Let's see...
Do your job properly this time!!!

Lovely staff great experience

We recently adopted our beautiful Sally from Cats Protection, Chelwood Gate and can’t praise the centre and its staff highly enough. Within an hour of submitting our application, we received a phone call inviting us to meet Sally. Donna was amazing, talked us through the cat’s history, allowed plenty of time for play and cuddles and gave helpful tips on keeping her safe and happy. 3 days in and Sally (now Willow!) is very much part of our family. Lovey experience and clear the staff really care about the cats. Thank you

Best thing I have done since becoming a widow.

I adopted Lily a DSH 5 weeks ago and can’t praise the system enough. Everything from my introduction to her at the vet’s at handover to today. Nothing is too much trouble. They check to ensure you both are compatible as Lily is only 7 months old. Quite traumatic for one so young. She is a little madam but she’s mine. I contact CP regularly and update them with pictures of her progress. If there is any question’s I want answered they are there for me and Lily.

My neighbour sadly passed away

My neighbour sadly passed away. She left behind her cat that meant the world to her. I rang cat protection and explained the circumstances. I told them once the keys were handed in the cat would be homeless. They asked if I could take the cat in. I told them I have 2 cats and 2 dogs of my own. This cat is used to being a only pet. They basically said there's nothing they can do. My experience with cats protection is they don't care. I'm disgusted and will never ring them or donate to them again.

provided no help or protection and my stray cat has been run over.

I contacted the Southampton helpline last year about a stray cat who I was worried about in the harsh winter season, and had an eye infection (I couldn't take him in as I had a cat who does not like anyone in their space).
My multiple emails were ignored, so I rang them and their very 'helpful' volunteers talk you through a long, gruelling form and any time I tried to add an extra sentence, they'd say to stay 'on topic' and to add it in at the end of the conversation. ( they dont even listen properly).
So I did this very long form over the phone to someone who was robotically asking me tick box questions, to then be told the charity can't help this cat as you've been feeding him and he seems friendly, so he's not classed as a stray???? Then proceeded to say that because he has an eye infection, you have to call rspca.
No other concerns were heard i was shut down and sent on my merry way; they wanted to just hang the phone up. I wasted my time.
I then called rspca who were no help because an eye infection wasn't serious enough, and then they sent me back to useless cats protection.
So round and round they send you in to get some help for poor, defenceless cats.
Cats protection once again started with their robotic form without listening to me, then I said I've been redirected and been sent in endless circles, please just help this poor cat in the cold; they said they'd ring me back.... did they ring me back? Of course not! I neveer even got an ounce of help from this useless place.
The stray cat today was run over. I am shattered. If cats' protection provided any protection, this wouldn't have been the case.
Disgusting charity, waste of time, no one should trust them. For one of the biggest charitites improve your policies and training for volunteers? Get on the field, get out there and help the cats!!!!!!!!!

Joe was very knowledgeable and friendly…

Joe was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout my visit, took time to answer my questions and help alleviate some concerns in relation to the Cats I've adopted. I really love the fact that it was done by appointment, meaning the cats were calm and relaxed, not overwhelmed by overstimulation and free to choose whether they wanted interaction or not. The appointment system is a definite improvement for the sake of the cats, staff who are trying to assist and for me as the adoptee. Excellent work team ☺️

I have just adopted a kitten from Chelwood Gate Cats Gate

I have just adopted a kitten from Chelwood Gate Cats Protection and I can honestly say the whole process has been absolutely amazing.
After meeting 2 prior kittens which weren’t quite right for us, Joe advised me to hold on for a kitten born at the centre. This was the best advise, she is now home & is content, playful & so affectionate. This is due to being raised by her mum & the caring & loving staff.
The whole process from start to end has been so good, friendly, helpful staff who obviously love their jobs & all the cats.
Even though I pestered Joe about news on a kitten he always replied quickly & nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you do much to all the staff, keep doing the amazing work, you are wonderful

I would highly recommend adopting from Cats Protection, Chelwood Gate 🐱🐱

Stinky attitude

In the beginning I was able to get some help for neutering my male cats. However when reaching out to them to possibly take two pregnant female cats, Judith advised that they would be spayed, I told her I am not into abortion or murder of any kind for cats and their unborn kittens. She advised me to use Cat chat. Then I was asked to send my email address, which she clearly had because that is how I asked for the help initially. Via text she asked if I got them from a rescue or if they were strays and also asked for my address as she had spoken to one of her 'volunteers' who thinks might have space. I had a bad feeling, so I informed her they were strays that I rescued. I also added that they are still scared and have only started to warm up to me now. I asked if they would be put into separate cage compartments and if they could keep me up to date with their progress and when they give birth. Judith totally ignored my questions and again asked for my address. I found that extremely rude and unfeeling. I replied asking her to answer my questions please. She replied with - They are probably going into separate pens. I replied back that it seems like you have no idea what will happen to them and politely declined her offer. So first of all, she treats her position at Cat's Protection like a job, not a position to help and understand people's situations. Also she had no knowledge of what was to happen to them and clearly was unwilling to update me. I also had no idea if she was making up a lie just to get them and spey them anyway. Her last text to me was I've noticed that you do some private rescue yourself so we would be unable to help anyway. Then why offer the help Judith? Did you say that because you thought it would hurt my feelings? Well you are wrong and it shows how unfeeling and uncaring you are towards people and their animals. You have a shameful attitude. I might be a private rescuer as you put it, but at least I don't have your stinky attitude.

Excellent charity with excellent shops

This is an excellent charity shop. The volunteers are all pleasant and helpful, and the managers will always hold a large piece you’ve paid for until you have done all your other shopping so you don’t have to carry it round.
Prices are good, with plenty of bargains to be had. The main purpose of the shops is of course to support their excellent work, and they clearly succeed as they’re usually busy.
A great charity and fabulous stores!

A huge thank you to Chelwood Gate staff who took such good care of gorgeous Harry, leading to me meeting and adopting him. Everyone I had contact with was so helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Thank you especially to Rosie who introduced us and patiently spent time with us whilst I got to know Harry. Ultimately, thank you to Joe who made (the perfect!) match. I ordered a jumper on line and it was delivered but the brown envelope it was packed in was flimsy, screwed up with two holes in it. The jumper inside had a motif of a cat for Aquarius but the white design was flaking off all over the rest of the jumper.I would not recommend this company at all and the prices are far to high considering the state of the goods

Wonderful experience adopting at Chelmsford

Well done to Maddie and all the team at Chelmsford for making our adoption of Mistletoe last week so painless and easy to follow. The way we have been treated from start to finish made us feel almost as valued and well treated as the cats in their care. We felt all of the questions we were asked were reasonable and sensible given the great responsibility the charity has to ensure their charges are safely homed. It was a real balance that felt driven towards trusting potential new owners with the right safeguards. We have been home with lovely Mistletoe (now Pheonix) for enough time to see she is happy and giving us so much joy already. Thanks CP Chelmsford!

Cats Protection Stourbridge Shop Toxic…

Cats Protection Stourbridge Shop Toxic Environment
I was volunteering at the Cats Protection shop Stourbridge. I was asked to do the PAT testing, showing my certificate to the Area Manager. Everything was fine I worked all day several days a week. I preferred to work out the back than do the till. I also did odd jobs like repair the glass cabinet, put new locks on the pens and tidy the back area.
Then one day out of the blue with no explanation I was told to leave by the Area Manager, saying that I couldn't work there as my wife was Manager. This had not been a problem at any point. However, she told me to leave then asked me to cover the till whilst she spoke to my wife, I politely told her where to go. It has since come to light, I was asked to leave because it didn't suit the toxic Assistant Manager.
What she wants she gets, the company are frightened to death of her and have even suggested paying her off with £10,000 of charity money. Please do not go and volunteer at Cats Protection Stourbridge as the Assistant Manager is toxic and the Area Manager needs to grow a back bone, she is weak and feeble when it comes to the Assistant Manager. Maybe cus she has raised grievances against the area manager before.
They now need another manager the 5th in a long line in a couple of years. They can't keep managers due to the Assistant Manager and they are just leading new volunteers into toxic lions den. Some ladies refuse to work if the Assistant Manager is working.
Toxic Toxic Toxic environment!
