CD Baby offers one thing: distribute your music, and does it well. I can't give 5 stars just yet because my package hasn't arrived, and won't till May 22 (my chosen date). But, for a distributor... See more

I liked the fact I didn’t have to pay immediately and could keep working on my release before payment, and that it saved. As the distributor for my first release, the info boxes made everything very c... See more

About CD Baby

Written by the company

Music distribution is about getting your songs in front of the most people possible. That’s why over a million independent creators worldwide use CD Baby to release their music across all major digital streaming platforms like Spotify, TikTok and YouTube Music.

CD Baby makes releasing music affordable— all our distribution services for just a one-time fee of $9.99 per release, whether it's a single or an album. And whenever we add a new digital retail partner, your music catalogue will be delivered to them free of charge.

Many music distributors claim to offer free music distribution but charge additional per-retailer fees, annual subs fees, cancellation fees, and all kinds of hidden add-ons and upsells for additional services. CD Baby has no recurring subscription fees, so you don’t have to worry about us ever taking down your music if you miss a payment (there are no payments!)

CD Baby also offers Mechanical and Digital Performance Royalty collection and Sync Licensing as part of our Boost service, as well as our Stages program for emerging artists. Stages offers a suite of valuable artist services, moving with you as your artist career advances and unlocking new opportunities such as expedited release inspection, DSP playlist pitching, and more.

CD Baby was much more thorough in what it takes to get your songs published thru them, that's because they offer so much more. They made sure your files were correct and then offered other things after to help promote your music. Very impressed.

Simple, efficient, effective!

CD Baby makes it very simple for an independent artist! They outline the spec requirements clearly for audio and cover art so that I can work with my partners to produce music that fits the criteria. Making decisions on where to distribute is as easy as checking boxes. They offer tools for tracking and promotion that efficiently enables me to evaluate my success. Top notch!

I'm sad I chose CD baby

I'm sad I chose CD baby because after uploading my single with them I quickly found out on Google they are literally the worst people to do business with. First of all they don't even let you upload a high quality version of your song. All the other platforms let you use 24 bit and 96hrtz. Plus I'm using symphonic now and they let me whitelist my YouTube channel in like 2 seconds. CD baby used to let you do this years ago and now they have a complicated system for letting you whitelist your own YouTube channel. Unbelievable. How could the one company that's been around the longest of all of them literally be the worst and offer the crappiest service. CD baby should be ashamed of themselves.

Wrong Track Length

The tracks have been uploaded with the wrong lengths and all are 3:20 when none of the tracks come close to that amount. Hopefully I can delete this when I get a response from CDBaby and they fix my upload.

HearNow is hopelessly broken! DON'T USE IT!

I just uploaded five albums, and spent the extra money for five "HearNow" pages to promote them. Some of the links on the HearNow pages are errors, and take you to the wrong album. I was anxious to start promoting my albums, but this is keeping me from doing that. I've tried numerous times to get support, but I'm just talking to stupid AI. A real person would probably be able to fix things in a minute. VERY frustrating, and I don't know where to go from here.
