scam, run

trash and unprofessional service, agents were pumping prices and trying to sell a zone 3 flat with a zone 1 price. Measurement is also dumb - they included rooms with restricted height, eaves and entrance hall (like 25% of total internal area), which misled buyers. I mean, even Harry Potter's bedroom is better than the "bedroom" they claimed.

Happy customer

I have been a tenant for Cedar states for almost 11 years and could not be happier. They deal with all my enquiries immediately and with care and as soon as there is an issue in the flat it gets fixed in no time. The whole team are professional and friendly with special thanks to Marc and Vicky.

Forcing flat viewers to reveal their savings. Beware.

Just spoke to one of the estate agents on the phone, requesting for flat viewing. That agent kept asking me how much savings I have and got really aggressive to extort that information. I asked for the amount the landlord is looking for and I will make sure that amount appears in my bank account. He refused to answer and called me uncooperative many times. I had to cut his line and tell him that he is being dishonest and unprofessional in trying to extort money from clients by forcing them to reveal how much savings they have. This agent never reveals his name. I have blocked their phone number and will make sure never to use their service. Beware of this company.

Received racial abuse from staff member Alex Croft at Cedar Estates on instagram. He also offered to ‘take me to the airport’ in reference to having me deported from the country absolutely shocking

Horrible and dangerous

Horrible and dangerous! They do not do any maintenance in their flats. There was a leak next to the electric sockets and the refused fixing it. They just brought a builder to spray paint it. The are rude and unprofessional. It is by far the worst agency I dealt with.

Property management

this happened twice. The first time i asked for a replacement of an old couch, they ended geting a couch that i cant even fit and small for its place. the second time, my fridge stopped working, they bought fridge again small and very small for its place that it even looks awkward from outside. It si not about me, i will leave the place in a year anyways, but it is only fair for a flat to have proper appliances that suits the whole apartment on a proper scale.

Rude and unprofessional

Rude and unprofessional. Didn’t understand the details we were discussing, and became very defensive and hostile. I recommend to avoid and use a bigger and more established agency.

NEVER NEVER NEVER go to them

For anyone looking to go to Cedar Estates, my only advise is to go literally anywhere else. I rented an apartment they let and managed from October 2019-May 2020. In fact, the Last time I wrote about them on google for harassing me, I got a stern call to remove the review which i did for fear of losing the apartment without any where to go but now that I am free of them, I can come clean about the nightmare they put me through.

When i got my apartment through them, the agency very conveniently forgot to mention that they do not have a meter in the apartment. What they had was a sub-meter programmed by the agency to some really high electricity rates - which had to be fed coins regularly. I only found this upon moving in and the agency refused to let me change. IN fact, they seem hand in glove with the landlord. Niamh at the agency was the absolute worst and patronising and would never budge on anything!

The nightmare began the day i moved in. I ended up paying almost 180 pounds in the first month when normal bills are not supposed to be more than 50-75 pounds a month. Upon creating a fuss, they sent an electrician to reprogram the meter to a slightly lower rate. Worst was their callous responses knowing I am a student, an immigrant with little knowledge of how these things work. When I demanded that they tell me who the supplying company is, they refused to tell me and kept ignoring me.

I finally found the supplier by calling the power authorties and begging for help. Upon checking their quotes for an apartment my size i found it was merely 40-50 pounds a month. clearly the agency was making money alongside the landlord i never saw.

As if this wasn't enough, they one day decided to break down my bathroom without my consent and without even providing me any options. when I called the agency for a temporary accommodation the manager very cruelly tells me to use a towel wipe to bathe for a week or GO TO MY GYM for a bath. Picture attached below, they wanted me to use the toilet in the condition below. To add to it, they would clean the alley way leading to the main door before showing the apartments in the building to new tenants but let garbage accummulate all other days. the nightmare kep going on - in fact, I had to once pay 90 pounds just because i forgot my keys inside and someone had to come open the door.

even when I wanted to vacate early due to the COVID crisis, being an unfunded student, not only were they completely inconsiderate but slammed a 174 pound cleaning bill for a largely clean flat (normally you can get professional cleaning for less than 40 pounds an hour).

COmplete exploitation of an unsuspecting tenant. I am just glad for the nightmare to be over. and i repeat - NEVER go to Cedar States! Foxtons and many other agencies in the area are far more helpful. better still go through Openrent to directly contract with the landlord
