I have an unusual hearing loss…

I have an unusual hearing loss audiogram which I've been dealing with for decades. I have done my research and realize that most audiologists do not know how to program hearing aids for my loss because it is very rare. I have hearing aids from Costco which cost $1799 but I thought I will try CEENTA as my thinking was that a doctor of audiology would know more than just a licensed audiologist at Costco. I was wrong. Original programming of the new hearing aids with CEENTA that cost $6,400 was TERRIBLE and the things that were wrong were exactly what I expected to be wrong based on all my previous experiences with my unusual hearing loss. When I went back to get them re-programmed, it was like the audiologist was trying to be nice but was condescending and told me you said one thing and now you are saying another and he kept pushing to the point that I wanted to cry. That was it for me. When audiologists make me want to cry I'm done. Costco has NEVER made me want to cry. I gave them information on how to program for my loss and they embraced it with additional research. When I went to return my hearing aids and get over $6,000 back, they wanted me to just hand them to the receptionist without receiving anything stating I had returned them. WHAT? I'm supposed to just hand you SIX THOUSAND DOLLARS with no proof that you will reimburse me? They were very put out that I asked for something in writing stating I had returned the hearing aids. Oh - and the refund will take 2+ weeks. Sure didn't take that long for them to take the payment OUT of my account.

Ear doctor couldn't hear me. Business office taking their time.

Ear doctor was more concerned with the right prescription than the fact the hearing aid didn't fit. When he pushed into the proper place I was in physical pain. I paid the whole bill up front and am still waiting on my refund. Was told it would be another week, the second. They are quick to get paid, but take their time paying.

Went to post op appt

Went to post op appt. Checked in & was told I owed $1,509 even though all fees were charged PRIOR to the surgery a month earlier. Appt was for 11:10 am. Not called until 11:45. Tech said she would be dilating my eye; would take 2-3 hours til eye was normal. Had to go to work. Should have been told in advance so I could of scheduled on a day I wasn't working. She told me "Well, I will check with Dr. Shah. He probably doesn't need to do that part. I said, well isn't that an imperative part of the post op needed to determine how my eye is doing? She put the drop in @11:57 am; said I needed to wait 15 min. Was called in at 12:05. Dr. Shah came in, started looking at my eye. I questioned the timing and he said not to worry about it. I told him my frustrations regarding the double billing & lack of communication & his response to me was "Well, if your not happy here, you can go somewhere else. Your eye is fine, that's what matters" Tech/Doc are very poor communicators & he is condescending! I ended up getting in touch with management and they are correcting my account on the double billing. I do not feel that it was right for the doctor to tell me to find somewhere else to go when they made the error, not me! Is it unreasonable to expect clear communication, correct billing & proper care from the doctor instead of unclear communication, extra billing charges as well as payments not being credited to my account and a doctor that talks to you for 5 minutes (if your lucky) and who makes condescending comments; telling you to find somewhere else to go. I have been a client for many years & never had such a horrible experience. UGH!
