Knowledgeable advice, competitive prices

I live locally so visited the shop in person. This is a small shop run by a knowledgeable but older couple, not Amazon, so service is bespoke but I found the gentlemen friendly, once we'd had a chat, and prices were competitive with other sellers. Will use again.

Don't use

Ordered two items in October 2024, both shown as in stock on the website. Only one arrived with a comment, the other was on back order. Had to chase continually and communication only one way; no updates from them and no follow up to advised possible delivery dates. Chased again to be told it was sent last week. Nothing arrived. Then an email advising credit given for item missing. Refund is about £5 short of what was paid in the first place. Thoroughly unreliable company with questionable business ethics. Failure to refund full amount given is a scam or worse.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Wow should have checked the reviews first here’s a list of my issues.
1. Took nearly a week for my order to arrive
2. When it arrived I was sent an item that looks like a knock off of the one I ordered, certainly not the colour I chose. (See photos)
3. Customer service is appalling, even tried to get two customers involved in our telephone conversation while they were in the shop.
4. Overpriced delivery service

I would suggest there are many more deserving archery suppliers around, but this is what happens when you try to use the smaller family run businesses.

Very slow delivery

No complaint about the items but the service was poor.
Goods ordered and paid for online.
Waited over a week and nothing arrived.
Emailed requesting postage tracking number.
Was then later sent an email to say the item had just been dispatched.
No explanation, no apology.
Supposed stock items took 11 days to arrive. This is very poor. I have had items delivered from China faster than that. You need to sort your online sales out.

center shot worcestershire mis-matched bow

i bought a stark ligero ilf bow went to collect it and was given the riser and was told the ligero limbs did not arrive with the riser and was given core limbs this was already paid fore and on there centre shot web sight you see stark ligero riser and stark ligero limbs i do not think this was ordered from taiwan as i was told. and was just a mis-match he made up. also told i did not have to shop there again and ill suggest to other archers at my club not to as well very nasty seller

One star is too positive

One star is too positive. I can only hope as a company that they have better face to face skills than they do by email where they showed themselves to be offhand and offensive. I am not a customer, nor shall I be after their email exchange.

Avoid at all cost, or it will cost you dearly!

Having bought a bow which arrived with plenty of tape around it (making me wonder if it had been previously used), the lower cam bent after about 4 sessions.

Their emails are curt, unhelpful and now they have begun ignoring them altogether and not responding, even after I have returned the dangerously faulty bow.

Thankfully I paid via PayPal and have raised a dispute. These people are untrustworthy and haven’t even had the courtesy to acknowledge the return (via tracked courier!).

Avoid, avoid, avoid!

Great service

Great service, friendly helpful staff. They didn't have what I required but did everything possible to get the item for me within a week. Thank you will use you again. I also appreciated the help and the knowledge you gave to me. Look forward to seeing you in the future.

We cancelled your order

I was buying archery supplies when I came across trustpilot, I thought i'd add this even though it relates to an experience last year.

Centreshot have a fine website, but as has been noted elsewhere they have no concept of customer service - I had been chasing 4 separate orders one of which had taken weeks, I asked for 3 of the orders to be cancelled as I could not wait any longer and Centreshot cancelled all 4. I asked if this was a mistake and was told "no the boss said to cancel all your orders"

I cant go lower than 1 star and still write a review but please take 1 star off the rating to get my accurate assessment :)

Excellent Knowledge and Service.

Popped in on the 18th Nov to get kitted out with rest of our gear. Good communication to give them an idea of our needs before hand. Dave sorted my partner out and gave excellent advice. Very knowledgeable and made sure we had everything we needed. Good stock and only had to await arrows to be made up and order correct limbs for my partner. Dave told us a week for delivery and they arrived exactly on time. Could not have been happier with the service and will definitely use again. Although 1/2 hour further than another shop near us but it is worth the travel. thank you Centreshot.

excellent service - wouldn't go anywhere else!

I've used Centreshot for our archery supplies both personally and for our archery club for a number of years and have never had anything but excellent service. I like that we always get a friendly welcome whether we're in there for something small or for a larger purchase. I've used the shop for help in setting up my own equipment and found the staff to be very knowledgeable with bow setup and arrow selection. We also recommend the shop to all of our club's novices for purchasing and setting up beginner's equipment. The shop is small, so they haven't always had everything I wanted to buy in stock, but I've had no issues in ordering products, even special ones that they don't normally stock. I usually go into the shop in person, but on the few times that I haven't been able to, delivery has been prompt and cost effective.

The owner is rude, unresponsive and miserable.

My first treatment at this shop was a miserable one. They are very critical of the main archery club in town and suggest that only one person in the entire club had any archery sense. I am a novice archer and I was treated like an idiot. I was also sold an item that is apparently trending out of use; this was priced at £48 in the shop and subsequently I noted it was priced at £43 on the web.
My second visit was to exchange a book - the one I was recommended by them was just too much content, I just flicked at it and that was enough. I suggested that I would like to exchange this for a simpler book and buy a couple of other items. I also asked to discuss the price differential that I noted on the web. I was told I had a nerve and basically we got to an impasse. But not content with that they owner said he would not want me in his shop again - because of my nerve coming in at all?
This is not the place to do business.

Mike: We are sorry that you feel this way as we try to make every visitor’s experience a positive one. We appreciate that, of course, you are entitled to your opinion. We gave you the name of the name of someone at the local club who has the relevant knowledge to help you. There are several people we could have suggested but felt that this person was the most appropriate. We are members of this club ourselves and would certainly not criticise them. We certainly did not think you were an idiot and we offered the help and advice we felt was appropriate for someone who had not been in the sport of archery very long. Not wanting to sell you something you did not need, we referred you to a professional craftsman who could help you with your longbow.

Regarding the case, we often have items in the archery shop that are being discontinued and this is always pointed out. It is also usual practise for retailers to feature items on their website at lower prices for obvious reasons, especially in an archery shop where we tend to spend a lot of time helping and advising people on their purchases. I, would like to add, that the difference between the two prices was not as you stated, but actually £2.13. We said however to you, that if you were to return with your receipt we would reassess the situation and reimburse you if you had been overcharged.

The book in question is the one we recommend to all beginners and novices as it covers many areas in great detail. It is most informative and helpful at all levels and we have been selling this book for thirteen years. It is very much a ‘standard’ book in the sport of archery and we have never had one returned before. When a book is bought, it is reasonable to expect the buyer to look at it before buying it to make sure that it is suitable. Once bought the book becomes used and can no longer be sold as new. Therefore we would be reluctant to refund or exchange it at its retail price.

All of our customers are important to us, many of them are now considered friends, and we treat each of them with great respect. We would never suggest that a customer is not welcome in our shop and strongly deny that this occurred in this manner.

We have traded for many years and have built up a reputation for professionalism. Ultimately, we pride ourselves on customer care and would be happy to discuss and rectify this situation with you.
