Forbidden from closing my account
Caixa Geral de Depósitos is not allowing me to close my bank account remotely.
I explained that with COVID-19 is impossible to go there and they just said they can't do anything.
They are still charging me 9 EUROS a month for NOT USING their services.
This feels like being stolen! REALLY!
Please, CLOSE MY BANK ACCOUNT REMOTELY, I can sign any form, scan and send it to you guys over e-mail.

There are far better options!
Caixa Geral de Depósitos, the Portuguese state bank, is the ubiquitous option for many. Regarded as a solid and future-proof, I think it is far from being a good option if you want a no-frills and free banking service. The epitome of greediness (and complete ) came when they introduced transfer fees on their homebanking service! In order to avoid those one has to resort to using an ATM, which completely defeats the purpose of using the web services. The mobile app and website are also quite underwhelming and not very user-friendly.
Avoid this bank!
