Ehren advised on Deed of Assigment which was a better solution for me for my matter. Work was carried out to my timelines and costs were reasonable.

AVOID at all costs. If I could give zero stars I would.
Purchased my first house and used Chadwick Lawrence in particular Conveyancer Zoe H. Not the cheapest quote but went for them due to the so called awards for service. Now, after completion I’m receiving a fine from HMRC because they haven’t filled out the land transaction return (or even advised me what this is). I wasn’t going to leave a review because I was just glad I finally got my house but I’ve now had enough.

To summarise all issues with Zoe / Chadwick Lawrence
- poor / non existent communication
- rude and threatening emails
- charged more than quoted which in the end just paid because I was stressed enough.
- still not received money owed for cash back offer.

As previously said, save yourself time money and stress and go elsewhere!

It's an amazing company with fast and clear service from the beginning to the end. The website is well constructed with many questions answered in details for me to learn about deeds and transfers. Discussion is very useful with Ehren over the phone and email to resolve any issue. Katie is outstanding in communication too. Highly recommended.

Very professional quick service

We just completed on our first home with the assistance of Chadwick Lawrence. The Solicitor assigned our file was pretty unresponsive to emails and never returned phone calls. Having said that, when she took vacation the Solicitors covering for her were excellent and responded quickly and efficiently. Because of that I am leaving 4 stars instead of the two I would have left.

We cannot thank Lynda at Chadwick Lawrence enough for all the help and support she provided throughout the sale of our house. From start to finish, she was professional, approachable, and incredibly reassuring, even when we hit a few bumps along the way.
Lynda kept us well informed at every stage, explained everything clearly, and was always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Her calm and proactive approach made a potentially stressful process far easier to manage, and it was clear she genuinely cared about achieving the best outcome for us.
We are extremely grateful for Lynda’s hard work, persistence, and dedication, and we would not hesitate to recommend her and the team at Chadwick Lawrence to anyone looking to sell their home.

We’ve just completed today, and Chadwick Lawrence made the whole process as easy as possible. As first-time buyers, we weren’t entirely sure what to expect, and you often hear about negative experiences when buying or selling a home. However, this was not our experience at all.

Aside from a minor setback with the seller’s chain (which was not Chadwick Lawrence’s fault), we are really pleased with the service we received.

I would especially like to say thank you to Rhianne Harris, who has supported us throughout the entire process. She answered every question we had (no matter how small!) and was always quick to respond. We are very grateful for her help 😊

Unprofessional and poor quality service—by far the worst conveyancing experience I have ever had. I would strongly advise anyone to stay well away from Chadwick Lawrence.

The entire process caused an unreasonable and unnecessary amount of stress due to what I can only describe as a lack of competence from my assigned solicitor. Some of the issues I encountered include:

- My solicitor never answered the phone once. Despite numerous calls, I did not speak to her a single time throughout the entire transaction.
- Emails were repeatedly ignored. On the rare occasion I received a reply—often weeks later—many of my queries were either left unanswered or addressed incorrectly, suggesting my emails had not been properly read.
- I had to raise multiple formal complaints simply to get any form of response from my solicitor or her line manager. Even then, this was inconsistent. The complaints process itself was confusing, with three different “step 3” contact emails listed within a short period, none of which resulted in a response.
- A supervisor was assigned to my case as part of the complaints process, but they were also involved in my transaction, creating a clear conflict of interest. As a result, they did not respond to my emails, and no alternative supervisor was ever provided.
- Communication from my solicitor was often riddled with errors. Most concerning was a deed of covenant—an additional paid service—which contained multiple typos that I ultimately had to correct myself.
- From the outset, I made clear my preferred completion timeline. Despite this, the transaction took 12 weeks—double the expected timeframe of 4–6 weeks—without any proactive communication. I was left chasing for updates on a weekly basis.
- I also clearly explained the type of mortgage involved at the beginning. However, shortly before completion, I was presented with unexpected additional charges, resulting in me paying hundreds of pounds more for an extremely poor service.

Overall, the experience was frustrating, stressful, and entirely avoidable. I cannot recommend this firm under any circumstances.

Joanne was fantastic in arranging a pre-nuptial agreement for my fiancé and me. She gave clear and pragmatic advice and dealt with matters promptly. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thank you!

After our father passed away we realised that the firm he had made his will with was no longer in business. Being in the legal sector myself, I was able to track down the will and papers to Chad Law. As we didn't want to do the probate ourselves, we decided to leave the papers where they were and have Chad Law to carry out the probate. So glad we did. I cannot praise Ellie and the team enough. Everything was handled quickly and professionally from initial meeting to completion of the house sale and distribution of funds. Ellie kept us informed throughout and was only a phone call away. Absolutely top notch. Probate does take time but it was all sorted much quicker than we expected and without a hitch. It definitely made an unpleasant situation an un-stressful process.
