Fantastic experience in the Chichester branch. It was the end of the day, I’d just got back from a fruitless shopping experience in Brighton where I was told by one shoe retailer that he didn’t want customers who wanted shoes to be comfortable. Just wow! Anyway, despite it being late in the day Danni was extremely patient, knowledgable and helpful. I bought two pairs of Loakes for a great price, so I’m very happy.

I had to return a pair of boots/shoes which was dealt with brilliantly. I then bought another pair and the staff, especially Danni, were very helpful and friendly.

The boots were just what I was looking for. Easy to order, delivered on time. Comfortable and stylish.

I had called in the Chichester store and I spoke to this Women called Muscaa, she was so polite and helpful. She guided me through the website and helped me with so many options, providing me with all details of the shoes, be it the name or the code.

I, who was looking for one particular pair, was so satisfied with the options she provided me with. The reason I took her name after the end of the call was to give her a mention here for being a great help.

My husband went to buy some shoes at the Stratford upon Avon store. He was served by Olivia who could not have been more helpful. She was friendly, polite and gave him all the time he needed despite the store being extremely busy. Thank you so much Olivia.

Speedy delivery, easy to order. Have these boots in green, and black, but these are taking a while to be comfortable as they seem a bit narrower. Hopefully they will break in as I really like them in black patent.

Good seller. My size wasn’t in stock so they arranged for an order to be delivered at no additional cost.

I hadn't used Clinkards in a while but decided to give them another try.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. It took several days for my item to be dispatched, and while it was sent via Royal Mail 48-hour delivery, it arrived later than expected (though I don't blame Clinkards for this delay).

When the item arrived, it was completely wrong—incorrect type, color, and size. I contacted customer service immediately and was assured a replacement was available but would only be sent once they received the return. I asked if it could be sent sooner to avoid further delays, but they refused.

They emailed me a return label that required printing, which was inconvenient as I don’t have access to a printer, causing even more delays.

Due to the poor service and inconvenience, I decided to request a refund instead of waiting for the correct item.

Bought reiker long flowered boots, lovely warm comfortable boots, ordered on the Sunday and they arrived on the Wednesday, easy and prompt service, will use again

Beautifully crafted shoes. A joy to wear

I have been a regular customer of this store for nine years. I have ten pairs of Gabor shoes in my wardrobe at present. I never complained or returned shoes at any time. But in October 2024 I bought 2 pairs of leather loafers. Cost £120 per pair. Within 6 weeks of occasional wear the leather on the joint of one shoe frayed in a way I had never seen before. Totally unwearable and unmendable. I contacted customer care saying that the leather was sub standard, if indeed it was leather. They asked me to return them for inspection, which I did in December 2024. I was told that it was an ‘abrasion’ from outside impact and that it was the result of 'heavy signs of wearing'. I should add that I am slight build, over 60, and not a keen walker. At no time did I feel that an expert on shoes or leather had been consulted. Its Customer Care was completely intransigent, with an attitude that the customer is always wrong. Being a long term regular customer had no value to them at all. I’m down £250 and lost for words. Photos available on request. If the shoes are OK, you’re fine, if there’s a problem with them you have NO comeback. Be warned.

Probably the first negative review I've left online but the info on the website is explicitly incorrect.

Paid for express delivery at checkout, which told me the "estimated delivery date" was within 3-4 working days. After 4 working days the order was still processing - I call and am told that actually, express delivery means DISPATCH within 3-4 days. This is not what it says at checkout - it says estimated DELIVERY date, I went back to double check.

I then say don't worry, it doesn't matter as long as I can change the address (I will be at a different address by the time the order arrives), but am told that because I used Paypal to checkout they cannot change it!!!! So not only did I pay for "express delivery" – which they did not refund me for, despite order still "processing" 6 days after ordering – they are unable to rectify the mistake at all.

The range of footwear on the website is excellent.

The boots arrived in imperfect condition - it was as if they were shop floor models (suede worn at the back) and for c.£350, one would expect better. Moreover the box was badly damaged down one side. It may seem petty, but the boxes should be in perfect condition too as footwear makes for great gifts.

The customer service team were impressive and quickly resolved the matter to my satisfaction (thank you team). The discount given was the best minimum I would’ve expected for the faults - neutral in impression there.

I would recommend thoroughly checking your purchases before wearing them out.

A small piece of constructive feedback for the webmaster - make the telephone number in the contact us section (footer) clickable from mobile devices to improve UX.

They’ve not lost a customer, but I am a little more wary than I would be than buying direct from brand stores.

Would be 4.5 stars but erring on the side of 4.

First time of ordering with Charles Clinkard. Good price for fit flops & good delivery.

The communication and service are second to none. The boots I received were too big and I have been able to exchange them without fuss, clear instruction, prompt response and timely update on the status of my original order and exchange. The boots, well they’re amazing and at sale price makes them even better (Reiker) can’t go wrong, except I forgot they measure up on the. big side. Love them. So happy I discovered this site.
