Excellent Customer Service and Common Sense Prevails!
I ordered a shirt a few months back which I had not opened. When I did come to open it to check its fit to wear at a friends forthcoming wedding, I found that I had eaten a few too many cakes and said shirt was now too tight!
Unfortunately, this discovery was a few weeks outside of the normal 6 months return window and less than a week before the wedding.
I have been a regular customer for many years. Tevin from customer service recognised this, understood the problem and after sending a few photos showing that the shirt was indeed brand new, he expedited the next collar size up FOC on next day delivery, before I had even sent the other shirt back.
Excellent customer service and common sense which is so often lacking in todays world. This could very easily have been a "computer says no" moment but I am pleased to say that Charles Tyrwhitt exceeded my expectations on this occasion.

I am based in Ireland and I am very grareful to Charles Trywhitt who delivered three 100% linen shirts to me within 3 days from placing the order. I have been buying shirts from CT shirts for more than twenty years and I never had any problems with the product or service!!! If I can say one thing is that for my body type 1,86m 93kg, ordering extra slim fit at 16,5 /36 I still find the shirts on the bigger side!

In regards to the fit, I'm afraid the only way to get the shirt 2" trimmer in the chest and waist would be to go down in a neck size. Please take a look at our sizing guide and compare them to measurements of your own to see if you could go down a neck size.

I received a £25 off voucher to spend by 26 July 2026. Well, today it's 26 July, 10.20pm, I have a shirt in my basket and I am proceedeing to pay but there is no way I can use the discount. The only box to digit the discount code is a "Gift voucher" box, I tried it but it's obviously the wrong box. A red message prompts me to "click here" to use the code, but the click takes me back again to the payment page, and whatever I do, pay by card or by paypal, there is no option to use the code. I have given you a second chance, MAYBE THE LAST. You have lost a clientbefore gaining one.

There are a few reasons why an offer code mught not be working. The first is that the item you selected was on clearance. Discounted items cannot be discounted again and this should have been stated in the fineprint of the offer.
The second is that you've got another discount or offer applied. If you can tell me what shirt you were looking at and how much it was, I can advise if this is the case. The standard price (with no discount applied) for our shirts is £69.95, or £37.25 when buying four.
If the shirt was the above price then I would be happy to contact you to place the order myself however if it was £40.00 or below then it would have already been discounted and as such, the "apply an offer code" box would not have shown.

I went to the chelmsford store on Tuesday as I was recommended the linen polos unfortunately they didn’t have all 4 colours i wanted in my size for the deal £149 for 4 so 2 lads there looked on line and still no good so then checked local stores , they found that flagship jermyn street store had what I needed and gave me the number , I tried to call many times on Tuesday with no joy they must have been busy ..
Wednesday morning I tried again at just after 9am , even though they don’t open until 10am according to website a girl called Scarlett answered , she was actually unbelievable in her help , told her what I was after and she said she’d like to go do a visual check as the computer only said 2 in a particular colour,a few minutes later she came back with good news , she said she could put them by as I wanted them for my holiday on the Monday … it was actually my birthday on the Thursday so didn’t want to spend a few hours going to London .. she said she could send them ..
Anyway the next day my linen polo tops arrived by dpd …
Firstly it’s so refreshing to receive a great service , your company has a gem in Scarlett she went over and beyond being helpful I’d like to mention also with my delivery 🚚 was my receipt with a handwritten message from Scarlett saying happy birthday and have a great holiday …. The shirts were supposed to be Customs…
The shirts were supposed to be Customs Duty Paid to EU (GE12922511691GB) and it was also supposed to be express delivery and it' stuck in Customs and have to go through a million hoops with customs forms and substandard support from DHL. To make things worse I have to speak to the company call centres in South Africa and can hardly understand what they're saying as they all have very thick accents...Thanks again Charles Tyrwhitt!
I've already provided the necessary details and no emails have been received attempting to resolve the issues...Also returning items (GE12802100547GB) to this company from the EU also get stuck in Customs with no feedback from company's logistics partner DHL (treating me as an exporting trader in this process which I'm not)
For completion I was told repeatedly by the call centre operators that someone will get back to me by EOD or in "2 hrs time" both of which never happened...Why isn't Tyrwhitt setting up EU warehouses like M&S or Next so they can avoid causing this level of aggro to their customers?
Update:
There's no option to prepay the duties when checking out btw. Also the order hasn't arrived within the express delivery option window (no offer to return the delivery charge) and as usual no help is offered with regards to return item which is stuck in customs and have to fend for myself. So much for helping out from Tyrwhitt!

UPDATE - Thank you for providing the order details allowing us to locate your purchase, although we are sorry that your order was held in customs.
Having reviewed our records, the option to prepay the duties was not selected when checking out on our website, which we recommend using to allow an expeditious path through customs department. The latest update on the tracking suggests that the order may be released from customs and should update the tracking subsequently.
With regards to the uncompleted call backs, this is unacceptable, when a callback is offered, this should be fulfilled, and I have shared this feedback with the managers of those with whom you had interacted as this is not the standard of service we expect for our customers.
Finally, we are sorry that you are having difficulty in arranging your return for order GE12802100547GB this should not have required further customs payments to ship back to us. However, when such instances occur, we find it quickest if you were to pay these fees and then email us at customerpartnership.team@ctshirts.co.uk to process the refund of these costs.
We are sorry to have let you down and hope you will give us a chance to demonstrate our usually high standards of service soon.

Terrible after sales
Ordered a couple shirts which didn't fit. This is sometimes the case but not an issue, difficult if you can't try them on beforehand.
I proceeded to return the shirts. I generated the return code and when I attempted to take this to the post office, they were unable to scan the return QR code. I reprinted it and attempted this again at a different post office and this also returned an error. I ended up having to pay for the return which was fine.
I then contacted them via live chat to explain the issues I had with the return. They advised if I called up, they would process the refund now including the cost of the post office return which was great. I then called and provided my card details for the refund. I was told it should show up in 2-3 days.
I then waited but after 3 days the refund wasn't showing in my account. In the mean time I'd had a notification to say they'd received my return.
It has now been over 10 days and I'm still yet to receive my refund. I had called after 7 days and told they would escalate but this made no difference. I have since contacted them this morning and the refund has only now been processed due to an "error".
A lot of effort to just get my money back. If they had just said at the start it would take X amount of time that would be fine but each time I've been given different information which has turned out not to be true. Had been a customer for over 10 years but won't be using them again after this.

I'd just tried to call you this afternoon via two number we had on file for you. One did not provide me with a voicemail option but the other did.
In short what's happened here is not acceptable and I've fed back to the two individuals and their managers regarding the way in which this was handled. As soon as we had seen the items had been received back, a refund should have been issued for the items and the postage.
The refund for your manual postage has to be done by a specific team and they are doing their utmost to address this last refund as soon as they are able.
