I was recommended to take any account when I was applying for a mortgage. It proved to be very helpful as I had historical things which hadn't come off my credit report which I got removed to improve my credit score.

I recently signed up to CHECK MY FILE to better understand my credit profile, and I found the whole process very straightforward. Signing up was simple — I just created an account, entered my personal details, completed a quick identity check, and was able to access my credit report within minutes.
I personally found the report clear and easy to follow, with all my credit information brought together in one place. It made it much easier to see my credit history and understand what might be affecting my score. Good reports and detail
The reports and the detail in them are excellent with information from all three agencies. If you are on the
alert for improving credit or credit deals, the service is probably worthwhile but, if you just want to check occasionally for fraud or identity theft, then the monthly subscription is too high. A one off search fee whenever one wanted check this sort of information would bemotre acceptable!

That being said, we know that Checkmyfile isn't for everyone. We set ourselves apart by providing you with more detail than any other credit report - returning your data from all three credit reference agencies - and having our excellent Customer Service team and Dispute service available to you.
We're really on board with encouraging people to view and understand their credit report, whether that's through Checkmyfile, their statutory report, or a separate third-party service. The more we all know about our finances, the better placed we'll be to prevent fraud and grow our credit health together.
