Packaging sucks! Expensive books arrived damaged?

I have purchased from this company a few times, and is very disappointed with the condition my new books arrive in. If I can find a better bookstore, I will not purchase from this company again.

The first time I order from this company, I purchased a 10 volumes (series) that had the price tag of $224 and some change! Needless to say my books arrived bent up with dents! The packaging was really sucky! For such an expensive order I was surprised that there was absolutely no padding, or any kind protection whatsoever!

Feeling disappointed about such an expensive order, I complained in the survey that pops up after you make a purchase, and someone from the company actually called me to apologize. Furthermore, the person that I spoke with offered to give me 10% off my next purchase. Welp, long story short, I accepted the apology and the 10% discount, and again made a second expensive purchase. --And would you believe, I NEVER got that 10% off that they promised?

--And of course once again, with the second order, I was not at all happy with the condition that my books arrived in.

It's sad because I've purchased used books from an online thrift book store that have arrived with great package protection - looking newer than the new books that I ordered from Christian Book.

As I said before, if possible, I will not purchase from this company again.

Nothing but good things to say about Christianbook.com

I have been placing orders from Christianbook.com for many years now, and I have always been extremely happy with what I have ordered. They have great products at really good prices, especially when they have sales, which they do frequently. If I am looking for a particular Christian book, CBD almost always has the lowest price. Our local Christian bookstore is now offering price matching so that might mean I will purchase a few more things locally, however, I think CBD has many more products than many Christian bookstores. I am very thankful that I found this company many years ago.

Nothing but Praises for CBD

I have bought countless times from CBD and have yet to encounter a less than pleasing experience.

The pricing is unbelievably cheap and the quality is superb which I am sure everybody already knows. My husband is absolutely addicted to this website and goes to CBD for all his Bible version needs.

One particular purchase I was very impressed with was an NCV Pocket bible. The bible is extremely attractive and with the quality you can never expect for <5 dollar purchase.

This store is truly heaven sent and will always consider ordering from there for my spiritual literature needs.

New homeschooling mom VERY disappointed in this Christian website

I am a new to homeschooling and found this site to be great to look at the different curriculums available. It's website was user-friendly and easy to maneuver through. That's where it stops. Being new at homeschooling, it is difficult to sift through the many curriculums available and to find the proper fit for your child. Like many newbies, I continued what my child used in her private school. When I received the items, I called multiple times to question returns on the curriculum kits, since I already had the student workbooks. I returned several kits initially and was refunded for each individual item. Well, as you progress with homeschooling, you find what works and what doesn't. My child didn't care for traditional methods of schooling, therefore I called again and questioned the return of these items, only to receive reassurance. All of these items were returned within 30 days. Yet, the following 2 other returns on these kits were charged an additional restocking fee. When I squawked, I was told I was suppose to know from the first time that it was a courtesy refund and it wasn't allowed a consecutive time. How is a consumer suppose to know if not warned the first time to beware of buying kits! Especially when the 3 other customer reps that was spoken to, failed to mention that a restocking fee was going to occur. Whatever happened to the saying that the customer is always right? Especially with a CHRISTIAN bookstore? Now I know why the homeschooling books recommend Rainbow Resource Center and fail to mention Christianbook.com. Only if the owners know how their customer service dept conducts themselves!
