They don't even deserve a 1 ⭐️ rating. Time of incident: Jan-Feb 2024. I ordered tickets (in Jan) a few days before the movie through the site and or app, can't remember exactly. Tix cost $31. I didn't receive a email or app confirmation. I called the theatre in my city and was told, it happens and that I will get my money returned in a few days. I bought tix at the theatre, so that's another $31. The following week after watching the movie, I call again, this time the person seemed annoyed and told me I should call customer services (contact info on site). My reply 'Why wasn't I told to call them before?' I call customer service, explain the problem, I'm told I'll get my money in 10-15 business days. They also sent me a movie voucher. 15 BUSINESS DAYS PAST NO MONEY. I call customer services again frustrated, I'm told I'll get my money back in a week, they also send me ANOTHER voucher. It's February and I make plans to go see DUNE 2 with friends. While I have two movie vouchers I think I'll get in for free and I'll buy my friends ticket. The night of the movie I pay for my friend and open the voucher, attendant scans it then tells me "There is no money on this voucher sir." I am livid, but contain it while I'm with friends and it's not the attendants fault. I open the SECOND voucher, get it scanned... SAME THING! DOESN'T WORK! I tell the attendant the story, they felt bad while I felt embarrassed and angry. I call customer services again the next day and I don't hold back. I explain that this is not only unfair treatment, but they lied to me by giving not 1 but 2 faulty vouchers. I'm then told I'll get my money in 2 days. They also sent me another voucher (I haven't been back to check if it works). Conclusion; I finally got my money back (within 2 days) after a month, 2 fake vouchers, feeling taken advantage of and angry! A horrible experience.

One of the worst websites I have ever…

One of the worst websites I have ever used! It took me the better part of an hour to try and find out the play times for the film I wanted to see. Kept sending me to cinemas hours away. Still don't know for sure when the current film is playing! So we will not go, great way to run (ruin) a business.

The $5 ticket for February is a…scam

The $5 ticket for February is a scam,there is a surcharge for most theatres which is automatic when one purchases online. Apparently it applies to only a regular theatre that is showing the movie you want to see,if it's not showing at a regular theatre you're out of luck! It does not tell you what the surcharge is for other theatres only that there is a surcharge and you have to figure out what that is! So much for the $5 Tuesdays!

RUDE EMPLOYE

Me and my friends went to CINAPLEX to watch willy wonka on the 15th of January at 17:15pm. There was only 3 people in the room (except us). Before entering a blonde employee was rudely staring at us and judging our outfits. When we were inside, we wispered to eachother a few times. Then we decided to go down to the front row to have a better view. And then that blonde employee came up to us and told us to shut up! Then she sat a row behind us and was staring at us. 2 of my friends went to the bathroom after the employee left the room, and they saw her out side. She started screaming at them, telling them they are not supposed to leave and that they have to go back and shut up!? They came back in the room crying telling us that the blonde employee started screaming at them, telling them to shut up once again and she did not let them go to the bathroom. She also told them that she got a lot of complaints about us, even though there where only 3 people in the room except us. We did not have a pleasant experience, And we will DEFINITELY not be returning back

Can't purchase tickets online

Can't purchase tickets online. Claiming my postal code doesn't match my credit card. Thing is, it is my postal code, and is the one on the card. The only problem I have is with them. W T F?

Tried calling customer service to try another way. Other then PayPal, there is no other way. So I'm stuck having to go to the theater and taking my chances with what's left. I don't have, nor want, a PayPal account. Based on my time constraint, I have no choice but to go to this theater. If I wasn't taking someone to see a specific movie my boycott this place. Why can't Landmark Cinemas New Westminster show Silent Night on earlier showing on the weekend. You rock Landmark Cinemas, besides this that is. 🖕Cineplex.

The online website bites

I tried to buy a ticket online. I didn't want to create an account but I was unable to purchase without one so I begrudgingly created one. The site then wouldn't let me log on without two step verification, which requires a phone number. I tried to get around that for awhile but eventually caved to that as well. They then charged me a fee for booking online, as though they were doing me the favour of making me jump through all these hoops. Booking online gives them early confirmation of audience turn out, they receive the tender in advance, and it cuts out the employee. If anything, there should be a discount for buying online. And after all that, I can't figure out a way to delete this stupid account I didn't want. I did discover that they signed me up for promotional emails with the account creation, another thing I didn't want. I'm actually so furious. They've strong armed and coerced me and then penalised me for the trouble. Be freaking for real.

I went to a movie at cineplex Kirkland…

I went to a movie at cineplex Kirkland in Montreal yesterday. It was FREEZING in the theatre. To the point where ALL movie goers were wearing their winter coats to watch the movie. I went to complain to a staff member and was told “yes people have started bringing blankets to watch movies”. After speaking with the manager she admitted the heat was not in the theatre. She said she would turn it in but it would take several hours to warm up the theatre. Tickets are not cheap for movies and to not turn on the heat is inhumane in our cold winters. Shame on Cineplex. I will not be back!!

I have used the cineplex app on my device to watch and cast movies for a few years. Today absolutely none of my devices supported so I (tried) to get a refund on my purchase. They do not offer refunds! I cannot purchase a movie and cast to my tv in my own home and they do not offer refunds. Account deleted. Bye cineplex.

Zero stars. This company is a scam

I’m giving cineplex one star only because I cannot give them zero stars. The app frequently does not load the rentals in “My Library” and there is no one I can talk to for assistance. The +1-800-333-0061 listed as customer service does not work. This company is a scam and has zero customer service which they must know given the abysmal rating on trust pilot and clearly they do not care. Stop giving this company your money. Support all other physical theatres and online streaming platforms before cineplex

What an endless waste of time

What an endless waste of time. Every single time. These people, for some bizarre reason, are under the impression they need a website that needs to be as secure as Fort Knox just to log in. It's just a simple movie ticket. The password requirements are by far, the longest most complicated password requirements out of the other 160 secure sites I use on a regular basis. Many of which are banking and credit card sites. On top of that, a forced 2 step verification process to even log in after you have typed all that in. Multiple times. All to pay them your money. And nooooo, not just for the one movie ticket. But for the fleecing of an additional fee for the pleasure and the honour of using their disfunctional website to give them your money. All this for a movie ticket. After you finally get in, it can take up to 30 more minutes even AFTER you have already selected your theater, movie, time and seats just to check out. And horror of horrors if you fudge the longest most complicated password that even AI would struggle to remember just trying to log in, to give them your money, and then give them more of your money, for the privilege of the horror of giving them your money, for a movie ticket, and have to reset your password over and over again. Ya, one freakin movie ticket. What a huge waste of time. Faster and less frustrating to stand in line for 30 minutes at the theater.

Is there a zero stars

Is there a zero stars? I have bought several movies on my TV from Cineplex and now the app doesn’t work because Cineplex says they updated there app so my 5 year old tv is to old. Cineplex will not refund the movies I bought from them as they say I need to buy a new TV.
Don’t buy movies through Cineplex.

Flipping Dreadful Service - AVOID

Went to their cinema in Hawthorne, QLD to watch Equaliser 3 and thanks to their incompetence missed 15 minutes of the film as the screen suddenly went blank, the volume went off and the lights came on. 5 minutes later the sound came back on but the lights remained on and the screen black. Eventually after more people went to complain and after a 15 minute delay the film was put back on but not rewound so we missed a chunk of the film. At the end all the staff had disappeared, the counter was all locked up and the exit doors left open so there was no one to complain to. Very, very disappointing.

Theaters have to get with the program

Hadn't been to a movie for awhile, and now I know why. Way too many commercials, trailer for the movie I'm about to watch (!) And then more commercials, and more commercials, so the movie starts 15 minutes after the posted time. Thanks, I'll do Netflix and Prime at home. Goodbye theaters.
