Considering 68 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Customers frequently report severe product faults, unexpected mechanical issues, repetitive vehicle breakdowns, and extended waiting times at busy authorized repair garages. People also highlight extremely unhelpful customer service representatives, poor communication channels, and a complete lack of support regarding warranty claims or safety recalls. Do not recommend Citroën.

Do not recommend Citroën.
I received a letter saying I can’t drive my car due to faulty airbags. I booked a repair, but it was cancelled because “they don’t have the parts.” I’m 7 months pregnant and meant to go on holiday in a few days — and they simply don’t care. No help, no updates, no responsibility. Shocking customer service and complete disregard for safety.

My carer uses a citreon and has been told that she can't use it anymore due to a fault that someone else has experienced with THEIR car and now she is unable to make it to work.... She has requested a courtesy car but was given an excessive price for a deposit. I am furious because you have taken my carers ability to travel to me and other clients

Avoid Citroen at all costs

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I'm going to the national press with this.
Recall on DS3, which is the company's fault, customer not allowed to drive vehicle until recall repair is completed, but Citroen won't even cover a half of the out of pocket travel expenses of the customer for commuting to and from work. A customer should not be the one being out of pocket for the company's manufacturing screw-up.
Customer lack-of-service at its worst!!

Citroen/DS clearly don’t care about…

Citroen/DS clearly don’t care about their customers, the customer service is appalling - not offering any advice or trying to come to a helpful solution but “sorry we can’t do anything”. This is NOT good enough what do they expect people to do when we rely so much on our vehicles. Like most people are saying, I will NEVER be getting a Citroen again and I hope people boycott this company because it is outrageous. I have already waited over a month and they expect me to wait even longer and continue to spend a fortune on getting to work which is essential?!?! How can they continue to let this happen?!

Citroen Assist is a Joke!

Dealt with Citroen Assist to get our dangerous DS3 into a prebooked appointment our local dealer to get the airbags changed. They provided a reference number but that was it. 3 calls (with long waits each time) & it seems that the ‘customer services’ team can actually do close to nothing. They can’t transfer calls, they didn’t call back when they said and appear to be there to simply add notes to a reference screen. We have been left with having to drive to our appointment in a vehicle which both Citroen and DVLA say not to drive. We have 2 Citroens in our family, they will be the last!

no clue and laughable service

This is the 2nd review for my car that was recalled due to Takata airbags. I called 8 garages and managed to get an appointment on the 18th of July. I have been struggling to get to work (5hrs of travel yesterday), and it's been taking its toll on me. Today, I contacted Citreon to clarify when someone will be collecting the car next Friday. They were clueless. The advisor told me to hire my own truck and drive it to the garage myself!! Do they also want me to fit the airbags myself too? I raised a complaint there and then and someone should call me in 48hrs with a plan. Who knows if they can be bothered to call me back.
I've had no offer of a courtsey car, compensation or support to get my car to the garage. Possibly the worst customer service I've ever had.

Disgusted

Like many others, I am here due to the stop driving recall notice. Car is booked in for the first week of August but what am I supposed to do until then? Travel to work is now 2+ hours on public transport at a cost of £25 per day (as well as the inconvenience of having to leave an hour and a half earlier in the morning).
This whole situation stinks! Every time I ring the customer service line to speak to an agent I get put on hold after requesting a loan car then the agent hangs up after 5 minutes. Have Citroen told their customer service line to actively do this? I now fear that I will face disciplinary action at work as I will struggle to afford public transport.

Extremely poor from Citroen here. No plan for this and no directive given to their customer service departments.

The same issue as everyone else

The same issue as everyone else. Stop drive recall, no parts available for the next 3 months at least and I'm now unable to get to work or take my children to school. The best they could offer is £22 a day towards a hire car which I would have to pay for out of my own pocket until the repairs are done, besides not being able to afford it, that wouldn't even cover the cost per day if I could find one for that length of time. Absolutely disgusting from Citroën, courtesy cars should be provided to everyone affected

Like thousands of others my car is on a stop drive re call. The dedicated recall line before it went viral was unobtainable, no email address for contact. The dedicated recall line your on hold for hours and no answer. Absolutely disgusting for a problem known about for years. A staggering of recalls could have been managed years ago but no it’s this mess. I hope Citroen goes down the drain you do not deserve customers.

Disgusting.

My car is a c3, got a letter saying there is a “ stop driving warning” due to the airbag problem right now. I called to get it booked in and was told 2-3 weeks. I work 7 miles away from home and work hours that make public transport impossible to use. No courtesy car offered, my insurance can’t provide one as it hasn’t been involved in an accident. My local garage told me to ask my insurance for one, it’s absolutely ridiculous, you cannot just recall thousands of vehicles and not provide compensation or help for the time we cannot use our cars! Disgusting.

Car broke down due to a known timing…

Car broke down due to a known timing chain issue a month ago and I was advised by a Citroen dealer which garage to take it to so the repair can potentially be covered under warranty. Car has been diagnosed and possibly needs a new engine. Turns out garage isn’t Citroen approved and they want me to pay to have it recovered to their approved garage for diagnostics which they can do in 3-4 weeks time. In the mean time I have to pay out of my own pocket for hire car with no guarantee on what will be covered by warranty. Have attempted to contact customer care who hung up on me when I said it sounded like they were prioritising the airbag recall. The lady on the phone told me they’re not before hanging up. Went into Telford Citroen in Carlisle the next day to be told they are prioritising airbag recall customers! Most unhelpful customer service I’ve ever come across. Constantly being told to speak to someone in customer care and being given wrong or unhelpful advice when taking to Citroen approved dealers

Passive, Unhelpful, and Lacks Accountability

Case Reference: 07383288

I contacted Citroën UK Customer Support regarding a serious issue: a dealership had added extra work to my ë-Berlingo’s second scheduled service—work I had not requested or agreed to. I specifically asked for the standard second service as outlined by the manufacturer, yet additional tasks like a brake fluid change were silently added and included in the price I was quoted.

When I contacted Citroën Customer Support, I expected them to engage with the core issue of lack of transparency and informed consent. Instead, they repeatedly missed the point entirely. In fact, they replied to me three separate times with answers that had nothing to do with my actual enquiry. I had to correct them multiple times before they finally took the time to actually read what I was raising.

When they spoke with the dealer about my complaint, they didn’t challenge any of the concerns I raised—they simply parroted back what the dealer told them, without scrutiny or independent judgement. It was clear that they had not understood the difference between recommended and required work for warranty purposes, nor the importance of obtaining customer consent for optional items.

No clarification of the complaint procedure. No acknowledgment that the issue was about lack of transparency and informed consent—not what’s technically recommended at two years. No follow-up, no accountability, and no real effort to resolve the issue.

Worse still, when I asked about the formal complaints procedure, the support agent hung up on me. This is completely unacceptable. Under Motor Ombudsman guidelines, they are required to provide a clear complaints process and refer customers when internal resolution fails. They failed to do either.

To summarise:
* No understanding of basic warranty vs optional work distinctions
* Responded multiple times to points I never raised
* Showed no independent review of dealer behaviour
* Hung up the phone when asked about escalation
* Failed to provide a complaints procedure, in clear breach of industry standards

This was not just poor customer service—it was disconnected, dismissive, and unprofessional. If you have an issue with a Citroën dealership, do not expect Citroën UK to support you. Their role seems to be to protect the brand, not to ensure customers are treated fairly or legally.
