Not for small creators
In a nutshell:
- 10k+ invested between agency fees and ad budget
- 3 months of work with the agency
- ROI: €300...
I feel like having invested in an architecture agency to build my house, with a team that, after facing many problems and despite working hard at it, failed to put up a single wall, and left it at that, with almost a "sorry we tried" attitude.
Some key points:
→ No agency can guarantee results. However, the promises made in the initial sales pitch, such as the results of their work being able to cover the agency fees after month 1, were not met, far from it.
→ ClassGrowth seems to work with bigger clients in general. I am astonished they assured me that partnering up with smaller creators (like me) was doable and viable, with the financial risks it involves, when they failed to generate more than 2 sales on existing products.
→ The copywriting skills are not impressive. The landing page that was created was a mere refurbishing of my existing landing pages and copy. The hooks and titles suggested for ads were mostly inadequate.
→ A lack of budget was blamed. But the budget was discussed in the initial sale call.
→ A lack of time was blamed. We had three months of work together.
→ The visual designing skills for ads are low. I was expecting the designers to be better than my Canvas skills.
→ It is my impression that the team failed to understand the demands of my niche.
→ After three months of work, hours spent on different projects, and more than 10 000 € spent, I have very little to show up for - not a competition analysis, no worthy designs I could use in my own campaign in the future, no better understanding or insight from working with their team of experts. I was sold that they would become the marketing arm of my company - but we really spent 3 months throwing things at the wall with nothing sticking.
I asked for a roadmap at the end of the contract for me to know where to continue the marketing efforts, in light of what the experts had tested. I didn't get anything. My ads were left active, just got a surprise bill this morning too.
They may be good at scaling bigger companies. And they certainly tried hard. But such are my results, may they serve as a warning if you are a small creator with online courses already selling and looking to scale up.
