My Datejust Bracelet Looks & Feels Amazing. Thanks!

Recently had my Rolex Datejust Jubilee bracelet professionally tightened and restored at Classic Watch Repair. Exceptional watch band restoration service, it feels secure again and looks like new, with all links and the original finish perfectly restored.

Barry, one of the founders, was patient and thorough when attending to my piece. Highly recommend for anyone needing expert tightening, scratch removal, or refinishing for Rolex and other treasured watches.

I had quite an awful experience today

I had quite an awful experience today. Saw their reviews were generally quite good and that the workers are patient and friendly. I got the complete opposite experience when I visited their shop.
The seller (I don’t think it’s Micheal Young) was so incredibly rude and aggressive to me.

When I asked to see a beautiful Omega vintage, I asked for a bit of information regarding the time piece, which he responded with the price on the calculator (is this normal for some one with passion in their craft?).

As I proceeded to ask about the background and specs, the guy was like “why are you asking these questions”? (Maybe he thought I questioned their authenticity?) I just wanted to get to know the watch that I was interested in, and weigh whether I should “pull the trigger”?

When I asked if I could see/hear the movement, he replied with frustration, “why do you need to see it?”.
I politely asked him if there was a problem, he got even more mad? So I just told him No thank you when he handed me the watch wound.

Hopefully, it was just a bad day for the guy, but it certainly didn’t inspire me to come back or recommend the place..

EXTREMELY Reputable Repair Company

I sent my 18k 1985 Rolex Datejust with 18k Oyster Band to Classic Watch Repair in October of 2021. I wear this watch every day and by the time I sent it it was in pretty bad shape. The band was loose and many of the pins had been replaced by different watch repair places over the years. I didn't hold out much hope that they would be able to make it look "new."

Today is December 17th and I received the watch back today. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that it looks as good today as it did on that day back in 1985 when I took it out of the box. I am more than satisfied.

The communications throughout the process were great and they were very responsive anytime I asked a question...and I asked a lot of questions.

These people are very reputable and you can feel free to ask me any questions you like.

Sham DO NOT USE

Classic Watch Repair Hong (aka Michael Young) SHAM OUTFIT DO NOT USE!
I sent the twenty year old Rolex Oyster I bought from new to them for a band restoration and service – none of the work was done well and I wish I had read this review beforehand:
Time to repair – three months plus.
Communications – delayed by weeks, didn’t answer questions, English and grammar so poor it was illegible.
Strap repair – polished the strap nicely, but didn’t strip the links apart as described on the website, didn’t notice a badly worn link that clearly needed replacing, took away the Rolex spring bars (they weren’t worn) and replaced with cheap ones that didn’t fit (the strap fell off the casement within a day of receipt), and stretched the end link to the point where there was a 3mm gap between the casement (they fitted snugly when they were sent).
Watch service – appalling – the watch stopped working a few weeks after it came back and when shaken I could hear parts floating around inside. I took it to the local Rolex dealer who confirmed that the inside was ‘gunked with oil’, and the rotor had snapped off.
Customer service – I contacted Michael many times and he is clearly giving me the run around in the hope I will give up asking for a refund for the work done (hence this review that will be posted on every forum I can think find).
Cost of work – appeared to be marginally lower than legitimate online watch repairers, but if you take into account the cost of postage, time to repair, and time wasted trying to find out where on earth your watch is, then the small savings are negligible.
I did find a watch repair outfit that I would recommend and since having my watch put back to its former state (at the same cost of Michael Young) have sent a further two watches, in both cases received excellent service and workmanship. If you would like the details, please contact me pauledmonds at btopenworld dot com.
I hope this review was helpful.
