I have used Clear Currency for the last few months and I have mixed reviews. Regarding the ability to get transfers done, it has generally worked. There are several issues that I have though which I will outline here.

1. If I have multiple transfers that I have done and not all of the funds were converted to the target currency, it is not possible to combine those into one larger conversion. The problem with this is emphasized in points 2 and 3 that follow.

2. When looking to do a currency conversion and I receive a quote, I have to specify an amount that I want to convert. I cannot say convert full amount. So if I specify how much I want to convert and at that point, the conversion rate has changed, it may leave me with a small balance in the original currency. This is in fact what happened to me.

3. When attempting to convert a small amount (as can happen as described in point 2), it may fail because the bank handling the transfer may deny the conversion because of a low amount. I was told that this was an anomaly, but I would think if it happened once, it could happen again. And even worse, there was no rejection notice, nothing that told me that my attempt to convert has failed because of whatever reason is supplied. It took me several weeks to get that resolved by trying to interact with customer support. Which brings me to point 4.

4. There are several e-mail addresses that are provided on the contact us page. I tried all of those e-mail addresses and it took literally weeks to ultimately get a response. I was told that there is a webchat link which I have never found. I interacted with someone in the dealers group who told me that there is a webchat and after multiple requests, I finally received a screenshot of the webchat, but not the link as to how to get there. I tried multiple browsers but never could find it. If it is ultimately buried somewhere, it needs to be completely visible and on every single page.

Constantly having problems with their portal means you can't make transfers independently. This really affects the convenience of this service
