SCAM Artists!

I burnt the soles of my feet on plastic hotel poolside decking made to look like wood. No warning signs. The hotel called a doctor at my request.
Rather than clean and dress my feet at the hotel, the doctor decided that it needed to be done "at the clinic". So I was taken to the hospital in an "ambulance" - sitting on a bench seat with no seat belt, etc. On arrival I was presented with a handwritten bill for MUR40,000 (about GBP650) for consultation and the ambulance. SCAM #1! I refused to pay saying that my insurers would want a single bill for everything.
My treatment was fine - its not that hard to remove dead skin, clean up, and dress the wounds, but at every stage the whole idea was to ramp up the bill. The doctor at the hospital even wanted me to stay the night as an in-patient! Farcical! SCAM #2! Following triage I was wheeled into a private room, before being taken to theater yep - that's the theater to have the dead skin removed. SCAM #3! It could have so easily been done in the A&E clinic side room, but then they wouldn't have been able to charge for a private room, nor for the use of the theater! I refused blood tests, urine tests, and an x-ray! SCAM#4!
I never paid the MUR40,000 initial scam bill. My final bill for everything including transportation was MUR23,775 (about GBP383).
So in summary, if you have an accident and end up here, keep a close eye on the scams! Everything they do is designed to get the bill as high as they can! You've been warned!

Good medical care but pushy staff for good reviews

My friend was admitted to the clinique for 24 hour intravenous antibiotics. The treatment was started immediately and, although some of the equipment was antiquated, it worked.
However, I was less than happy at being pressurised 5 times, almost from the moment we stepped into the place, to write a 5 star review. Even to the point that one member of staff offered to write it for me. I wrote a review as I wanted my friend to receive the best treatment.
During our 24 hours no less than 8 medics visited with the chief of staff insisting on having a photo taken with the patient, wanting me to post it online. I didn't.
I know this was a private medical facility but felt it was wrong to pressurise people for excellent feedback. Surely this should reflect the service they provide?

Absolute scammers that should be in jail

Went to get a prescription for upset stomach and they just wanted to charge my insurance as much as they could. The “doctor” was also a receptionist and every nurse wore Apple Watch and a ton of gold jewellery-that says a lot. No staff had their name displayed which is typical in a scam business. In the end I run away as I didn’t even trust them to bring me water, let alone treat me for anything.
