Very helpful and friendly staff. No sales pressure, just very knowledgeable.
Cannock CMC
Cannock CMC , best customer service ever . Bought a bike out of their scratch and dent spares or repairs department and received better customer service than you get buying brand new bikes elsewhere. Bike is brilliant and so is the customer service, thank you.
I bought an 18 month old Honda Goldwing…
I bought an 18 month old Honda Goldwing from CMC Newport in April ’24.
1) The motorcycle was advertised as having a heated seat, subsequently they confirmed it was an error in their advert and it didn’t have a heated seat.
2) There was no tool kit with the bike yet the rubber securing strap was there. I phoned and enquired and they said they would call back if they came across it – they never did call back. I have spent £245 on the proper Honda tool kit.
3) 10 days after having bought the bike I was fitting a battery charging lead and I found it is fitted with the wrong smaller Non Honda battery. More importantly the battery was insecure with fixing strap missing and there were two pieces of copper pipe foam insulation wedged under the battery because it was too small. The battery strap had been handed to me with the documents wallet, and this is after the bike is supposed to have undergone a '37 point pre delivery inspection'.
I sent an email of complaint and the recipient passed it on to their service manager to call me, that conversation concluded with him saying he would get a trade price for the tool kit and call me back, - that was almost a month ago and still waiting.
From my experience CMC Newport completely lost interest once the deal was done and they’d taken the deposit. Their aftersales service is a joke and their communication with the customer is diabolical. Neither the sales or the aftersales departments give the impression of taking pride in what they do, both making fundamental mistakes. The bike is great I just wish I’d never bought it from them. I certainly won’t be buying another bike from them ever.
Peak District long tour
I would like thank all those at CMC motorcycles, for the ride out over the Peak District. Nice to see such a turn out by the motorcycle community. Met some nice people, who conducted themselves well on the ride out. Excellent people. Winnats pass was truly amazing. Marshall's did really well keeping us all together. Many thanks Eric Ashby
Recently bought an immaculate 20 year…
Recently bought an immaculate 20 year old Harley Davidson VRod with very low miles from CMC Cannock. The bike had a few teething problems as it has spent most of its life sitting around. The sales team and service guys have been outstanding with their support. Can't recommend em enough if you want peace of mind with your next purchase. Thank you. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Check your appointment times, there are 2 types.
Hi I called in at CMC Claycross to have an oil seal replaced, I brought the bike from them a year ago for £4000 and was very happy with the deal, I sold my previous bike privately because the salesman said the px rates we're not favourable.
Anyhow the lady on the parts department was friendly and asked if I wanted to wait or leave it with them when I booked it in.
I said I live local so didn't mind eitherway but I worked afternoon shifts so can I book it in early.
She said it could take up to 2 hours to replace 1 oil seal behind the front sprocket and can fit me in for 9.00am.
Great I expected I could pick it up by 11.00am.
Arrived today and left her the keys and she said to me there are others booked in before me and she would give me a call when it's ready, I asked again will it be ready for 11.00 and she said probably not because the people who book in and wait guarantee their appointment whilst if you leave it with them, you don't get a set appointment and it gets done when they have fitted the others in.
Why wasn't this explained at the time and i would of booked a waiting appointment , subsequently I've got wet through taking my bike to a non existant appointment and I have no idea if it will be ready today or not. 🤔
I don't have this issue when my car is booked in for work.
Trade in values
I have decided to remove my original review, after communicating with CMC I feel there is a mutual understanding that the trade in offer for my ADV was not a finite offer, there may well have been the option to further negotiate.
My updated review then would include that the first offer on a trade in value is merely the basis for negotiation, as I am someone who does not like to haggle I'm still of the view that margins are tight for buyers and sellers alike.
Would I recommend CMC, well yes i would based on the range of bikes they have to offer, I can't speak about aftersales as i haven't made any purchases with them.
What I can endorse is that if the team are anything like Ross, you can make that deal.
I am still unhappy about my original trade in offer, however Ross has taken the time to explain the business model and this hasn't dissuaded me from considering them in the future for a cash only purchase.

CMC Cannock excellent service !
I have purchased a number of bikes over the years from Chris at the Cannock branch who is awesome every time, great service and deals and px prices, I recently. Purchased a tiger explorer which came with a lifetime warranty, 2 months later I noticed the header exhaust was rusty and rotten, I thought it wouldn’t be under warranty but I went to see Neil in the service department and thought I’d run it by him, without any fuss or deliberation he ordered a new one at no cost to me, two weeks later it was fitted and the service was awesome ! Would thoroughly recommend all the staff and service at cmc Cannock! Many thanks
Don't part exchange...
Bought my present bike from CMC and drove to the Newport branch to discuss a deal on my next one. Sadly couldn't do a deal as I feel that offering me a deal where they take my bike (11 grand forecourt value, they have one on the CMC website at this price... ) and an additional £2249, in exchange for a bike they're selling at 9 and a half grand is not a good deal for anybody but them. Assuming they would make similar margins on both bikes, I think that me asking for the 2249 to be closer to 1750 was still very good margins for CMC. Absolutely no negotiation on what would have been my second purchase and ongoing business. Penny wise, pound foolish unfortunately. I'd expect that CMC will go the same way as Carnells did and alienate enough return customers to impact the overall viability of the business. Shame really.
CMC will doubtless have their response to what they view as a negative review amongst a good number of decent reviews but I ask you to consider the maths before going ahead. Would you be happy chopping in an 11 grand bike for 7250 and then stumping up a further couple of grand to ride away on something which is pretty unpopular sales wise, and still worth less even though it's 4 years younger? If we stopped accepting terrible valuations, their business model collapses because they can't get stock.

Kim at Clay Cross branch. Exceptional customer service skills
The service at the Clay Cross branch was brilliant. Kim was very respectful, knowledgeable and explained what we needed for our purchase of a helmet very thoroughly. I went with my Dad and don't know much about bikes so that was a BIG help.
Excellent service

I was thinking of partxing my bike for a new one. My current bike is a year old with 1800 miles on it. They retail for 11k and was offerd 7200 for a mint bike with a shed load of extras and service history. I went to another yammaha dealer and they offered me £8200. Cmc have lost me as a customer for good

FIRST CLASS - Had my bike serviced and purchased some…
Had my bike serviced and purchased some accessories. From when I bought the bike to currently having it serviced I would rate CMC Newport as excellent in all areas. Always receive outstanding service from all staff. Many thanks Nick Birch
Very disappointed
Recently purchased and very expensive classic motorbike from CMC Cannock and the bike wasn't what I had anticipated, having bought numerous classic bikes over many years. The after sales customer service was extremely disappointing and a lack of empathy, approach and understanding with no amicable solution to indicate a long term customer relationship. I would not recommend this company to prospective purchaser. Very disappointed.
DISGUSTING CUSTOMER SERVICE
Purchased my bike from CMC Newport, salesperson was Matt Burgess. Was great initially but once i had a problem, never heard from him again. All bikes should come with pre-delivery inspection and service, mine was done 8 months previous and hasn't turned a wheel since. Delivery driver took 5 minutes to start bike and then left. Then bike would not start again. Fuel was stale which i had to have pumped out. Headlight was found to just be lodged in place with no fixing bolts whatsoever. How did that even pass a genuine MOT? It was pointing up in the air! These guys are great up until they take your money. Now i have to pay for a service which should have been done aswell as the cost of the fuel issues. AVOID these guys at all costs. Extremely disappointing service which has soured the whole ownership of my new bike. UNHAPPY to say the least. All these issues would have been found if the inspection and service had been carried out as promised on their website. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!
CMC CHESTERFIELD Can't rate these guys…
