As a first year transferring out of Syracuse University, I was apprehensive about going through the college application process again. Working with College Transition made my second try far easier and much more successful. The team of counselors is incredibly responsive, and able to answer any kind of question. I was given templates for emails to admissions officers, a personal writing coach, and a website platform that allows me to keep track of my progress and deadlines. I am so grateful for this organization, and super excited to be attending my first choice university in the fall thanks to them!

My son was just offered a spot, as a transfer student, to an Ivy and I am certain that the work he did with College Transitions made his application stand out. Andrew and his team is so kind and knowledgable. They were both compassionate and firm with Henry through the process and gave him the ammunition he needed to complete the work beautifully. I am so grateful that we engaged College Transitions!

College Transitions was an immense help in guiding my college admissions process. They were efficient, clear, and professional the entire time. I was provided quality feedback on my essays, but never felt that they were restricting my creative freedom. I had to deal with significantly less anxiety during this process, just because I didn't have to spend my time worrying about whether I was doing the right things or if I was missing something that needed to be done. I am happy to say that with their help, I was accepted to one of my top schools with a full-tuition scholarship!

College Transitions served as an incredible resource for our son in his college admission process. They were regularly available to answer any and all questions and were terrific partners for him as he thought through his priority colleges and subsequent timeline. Lori was also invaluable to the writing process, helping him shine in his essay and supplementals, showing seemingly endless patience and making herself available when was presented with some tight deadlines. He was accepted early at his first choice school, Wake Forest, where he will matriculate in August, and we have already reengaged with College Transitions for our next child, a rising junior. Five stars!

Two things really stood out as being differentiators as well as serving as a tremendous support and value for us.
1) Researched-backed guidance: Andrew & Michael are Incredibly knowledgeable about a broad array of colleges - not just the top 40, and they provide an absolute wealth of data and information so that you can determine what may be best for your child. They are stats driven, so once you know the grades and scores you’re applying with, they are able to give you a solid list of Reach, Target and Likely schools, and they tailor it to your considerations and priorities (size, geography, focus or major if you know it, etc). Along the way, they offer a wealth of insights, articles and statistics in the newsletters about the landscape of college trends, admissions, outcomes, and summer programs. Their book, Colleges Worth Your Money became a go-to resource, and their newsletters were very helpful.
2) essay support — our son applied to 16 schools - 14 of which had multiple essays. Joanna was amazing - her review and pointed/tailored comments on EVERY essay - all within impressive turnaround times - were vital for both his thought process as well as his ultimate success. Our son commented multiple times how helpful she was, and he refused to submit anything until she looked over that final draft one last time.

On top of these differentiators, I will add how accessible and helpful everyone was whenever we had a question or just needed help thinking through something. Every time we connected, we all (my husband, son and I) walked away with a new insight and better understanding.

They are an outstanding team. After reviewing 56+ schools, applying to 16, receiving offers to 11 (3 rejections, 2 waitlists), our son landed/enrolled exactly at the best pace for him. And he’s excited!

College Transitions is breath of fresh air in crowded world of college counseling, with stellar results to back their unique approach. We engaged CT twice for both our children, and both had stellar college admission outcomes - multiple offers from Ivies and top 10 schools. One is attending Duke as a scholar, and second is leaning towards attending Stanford as he assesses his options.

Andrew and Michael are terrific counselors, and Adrienne and Joanna, and Kelsea and Sarah helped guide our younger and older child respectively - through methodical, data driven, balanced and milestone based approach - to fantastic outcomes. Very thankful for their engagement, guidance and coaching.

The team at College Transitions assisted our sons in getting admitted to their top choice/dream schools, Brown and Columbia. Andrew and Michael were right there with us throughout the process, ready with advice and insight as we navigated schools and their applications. We met regularly and they sent regular reminders on where the boys needed to be in the process. They were always available for read throughs on applications and any last minute questions or needs.
Lori and Charlie were integral in the essay writing, offering input and assistance but assuring the boys used their own voices.
We will use them again with our youngest son. The comfort, knowledge and guidance they provide is invaluable.

Both of our sons were accepted into their dream Early Decision schools—The University of Virginia and Duke. College Transition consultants were incredibly responsive, always quick to answer our questions and provide thoughtful feedback on essay edits. Their practical advice on selecting and categorizing schools was invaluable. We also found their Colleges Worth Your Money publication to be a fantastic resource, helping us as parents navigate and guide our sons' choices. College Transition consultants’ expertise and personalized consultation brought clarity to the entire process to help the boys achieve these successful outcomes.

The College Transitions team was careful to understand our student’s unique needs, e.g. Spring admissions to a top university within 50 miles of home. They helped set reasonable expectations for our student and routinely checked her progress. Her essay coach was truly outstanding. Our student was accepted to all four schools to which she applied.

I was able to get into my number one school, Northeastern University, with the help of the people at college transitions. They advised me on my essays, helped me decide which activities to put and in what order, looked over each application, and made sure I was staying up to date with all of my application deadlines. Each essay review came quickly and was thorough, and every email I sent was replied to very quickly. Overall, it was an efficient experience.

I can’t recommend College Transitions enough! My daughter wanted to transfer to another college after the first semester. I didn’t know where to begin and how to support her in the application process without the infrastructure of her high school college counseling office. College Transitions provided expertise every step of the way in her application process. I appreciated how they really listened to my daughter and empowered her in her decision making process. In addition, the essay coach was incredible and my daughter looked forward to her meetings with her. Bottom line - with support of College Transitions my daughter was accepted into her dream school. Throughout my entire college application process, from choosing colleges to writing essays, college transitions helped me through every step. Multiple frameworks for essays were given aswell which ultimately helped me make more progress on my essays and write more persuasive essays. Anytime I had a question, I was able to contact either Mr.Trivette or Mr.Belasco. Overall would recommend to anyone looking to do great on their application process.

They constantly stayed in touch with me and were always available to meet when I asked. Always met deadlines, and answered every question my family and I had thoughtfully and carefully.

This team of pros was fantastic. They were always responsive and knowledgable. They guided us from being clueless to having a strong direction. We gained amazing acceptances with their help. Our son chose the right school and we are grateful.

Extremely happy with the level of support provided by College Transitions! Our daughter's team was with us each step of the way, helping reduce our anxiety while essentially taking over the process. It gave her a lot of self agency and confidence, and it allowed us to get out of the way as parents. To be honest, I thought we could manage most of the work ourselves but it wasn't until our daughter was in 11th grade that we started to realize that we may need help. A friend recommended College Transitions, and after speaking with Andrew and learning more about the team that would be working with our family, I knew we found the right one. We're over the moon now that our oldest is preparing to begin at Carnegie Mellon next week! We worked closely with the team at College Transitions for our daughter's ultimate acceptance into a number of schools, including some top tier colleges (Bates and CMU). Their standard process of working with kids is great, but what impressed me the most was their responsiveness to one-off questions. They always emailed or called back quickly. Would 100% work with college transitions again.

Typically, it isn't easy to work with counselors who are helping multiple students at the same time. Micheal and Taylor, however, always had a timely response to my emails. This definitely made my application process far less frustrating, just knowing that whenever I had a question, I could email them and get an answer quickly. Another thing I love about College Transitions is that although they help you get into top, prestigious schools, they care about what is the best thing for you and your interests. I ended up not applying to some of the schools Michael suggested for me, but these colleges all seemed to be a great fit for me and my interests. That showed how much he cared about what my life would look like after the entire application process.

To me, the most important thing was being able to work directly with a writing coach, which is not something most college consulting services offer. Instead of blindly writing essay after essay to have it edited by someone I didn't even know, I got to go through the entire essay-writing process with my writing coach - from deciding on the themes and content of each essay to drafting and polishing them.

Anyone who wants to work with a warm, friendly counselor and seriously think about their fit and happiness in college should choose College Transitions!

I was interested in College Admissions because I read their articles and they seemed insightful and direct. Our son worked with Michael and he developed a respect for Michael's opinions. Finding the 'right fit' for our son's applications was daunting, but Michael listened intently to Ben's values and helped shape a stong list of 'reach, target and back-up' schools. He encouraged Ben to dig into the difficult task of preparing for his applications, but, most importantly, he was calm and always reminded us that our son would find the right fit. Our son just completed his sophomore year at Rice University and is thriving, not only academically, but, most importantly, emotionally and socially as well. We are grateful for Michael's invaluable guidance during our son's pivotal time and have since recommended him to family and friends. They have also been extremely impressed with his expertise and their children are also thriving in their respective schools.

In wanting to transfer to a different college, I relied on help from College Transitions to curate the perfect list of colleges to apply to. They helped me with all areas of my applications as well as giving me terrific advice along the way. Christina W. was ever so patient and helpful with my essay work while Andrew B. kindly answered every question I asked. I had excellent results from my applications allowing me to select where to attend from a stellar list of colleges. I'll be attending a top 10 university in the Fall.

We've used Michael Trivette as a college counselor for both of my boys, spaced 5 years apart. We were particularly interested in finding the best "fit" college and Michael was helpful in assisting our boys with exploring different ideas about that. The program is excellent - in terms of keeping organized and on top of things and the help with essays - from brainstorming to editing was very helpful. Could not recommend Michael and his team highly enough!
