I bought a kit for Harley twin cam…

I bought a kit for Harley twin cam build. The kit comes with 72 orings of varying sizes. Some are the exact same size, different materials. When they ship the kit they just throw them all together with no part numbers. There is no way to match the oring to the part# even on the shipping box. No way to cross reference to Harley part#. They basically set up for problems. You call them for support and their clueless. Never again. Guessing is for losers!

HEAD GASKET OIL LEAKS.

I have a Suzuki GS1150 which is now a 1229cc with flowed head, balanced crank and upgraded gearbox etc.
When I installed the cylinder head I used a Cometic fibre head gasket and on initial start up everything looked pretty good but when the Suzuki was track tested oil sprayed from both sides of the cylinder head but when the oil was cleaned off and the machine ran on tick-over no oil leak was visible.
I stripped the cylinder head off and checked the head gasket carefully and came to the conclusion that the oil under pressure was being forced through the centre of the gasket (which is a wire mesh) and out of both sides of the head gasket from the oil feeds up the cylinder head studs.
I changed to a Cometic M.L.S. head gasket and have had no trouble and it's not just me having had this problem.
2 stars for the fibre gasket and 5 stars for the M.L.S.

Watch out for shipping charges! They do not tell you about them.

I ordered 2 gaskets from Cometic for my dirtbike. I was told it would take 6 weeks before I received, the item which I was okay with. But, I was never given a shipping quote. After receiving the item, I received an invoice in the mail a few days after that gave me a breakdown of charges. I paid $38 for 2 small gaskets, capable of fitting in a medium sized envelope. I was charged $26 after the two gaskets were put into a massive box to ship to me..... I spoke with the sales rep and HR from Cometic, both of which just told me (that's how it is).

I won't be purchasing from Cometic in the future.
