I booked EPC online

I booked EPC online. Received confirmation of survey for between 2pm and 4pm the following day. I went to the property 1 hour early as I always like to be prompt. At 3.30pm phoned the number given in the text confirmation to check on expected arrival progress. Non plussed individual claimed no knowledge of the booking, then claimed the system "sometimes chucks them out" then found the booking but said had no time to do it today and I needed to wait 3 or 4 days. All the time calling me "fella" in an almost exaggerated 'Del Boy' accent. The person on the phone told me he was the company owner but also did the surveys. Sounded to me like a very unprofessional one man band operation. I've rebooked with another company.

My customer ID number sent to me to confirm the appointment was 803625977 . The trader is claiming I am a fake customer making mischief. This is totally untrue.

EPC (no problem) and EICR (avoid!)

Danny was responsive in giving a quote and scheduling time for an EPC and EICR for me.

EPC was done without a problem, and on the same day, another electrician did the tests needed for EICR.
It appears the EICR was subcontracted out to another company.
I was asked for payment before release of reports (which is fair). However, after payment was completed, EPC report was handed over. But EICR was not. They gave me a list of C2 and C3 rating via email, and attached a quote to get further work done prior to release of EICR.
I understand that work is inevitably needed, but they refused to issue me an EICR that says "unsatisfactory" because Danny mentioned that I would go out and find another electrician and get the work done.
I pressed on to get details of the electrician, wanting to check that he/she is qualified. But was straight out rejected, he said that he "cannot disclose that information".
On my end, they are fishing for work and currently holding off the release of EICR, which I believe is a breach of contract. I will definitely dispute my pay and raise this with relevant oversight bodies.

So, right now, 2 days after payment, I'm still trying to get hold of my EICR.

My suggestion: you can go with them for EPC, but avoid going with them for EICR. It would save you some hassle if you go straight to an electrician!

=== Update ===
I have just received the report.

I think there are differences in expectations for the job.

My expectation: Get an EICR from the company, and think about what needs to be fixed (and get another electricians to quote and take a look), then get another EICR.

The company's expectation: Get an EICR, fix it for you, and sign off the EICR.

So, make sure you understand what you want and align on interest.

=== Update 2 ===
If this review is published (if you are reading this), it has been challenged by the company and approved by Trustpilot. This means that I have provided sufficient evidence to support my claims in the feedback.

You originally booked the EPC and electrical check, because we are one of the cheapest on the Internet.

Unfortunately due to the neglect of the electrics in your property we were unable to provide you with a pass, as you had some severe issues with the electrics.

Unfortunately, it takes time to produce an electrical certificate, as we have to pinpoint exactly the cause and problem,

We repeatedly emailed you the schedules of works on a PDF, but you are unable to find it, which has probably gone into your spam folder as you have now found it.

We have quoted for the work which is a very reasonable price, as we use highly efficient and qualified electrician.

You have obviously searched a market place to find the most competitive quote which obviously was us.

We give out a estimate of works that need to be completed to get the certificate to compliance.

As you will know we do many of these, and had no real complaints regarding the schedule of works or the estimates that we provide.

You have the option to look around for the best price, but we will not pass any electrical works that we have not done the work on as we do not know it was done to a satisfactory standard.

These assessors were excellent

These assessors were excellent, I went back to them with numerous revisions at the planning stage for our new build house and it was never any trouble. They were prompt and efficient with good communication skills. They were also competitive on price. i would definately use them again and find it easy to recommend them to others

AWFUL SERVICE

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The assessor who issued my EPC certificate was extremely rude when I simply queried the results of his energy efficiency assessment. I ended up filing a complaint with QUIDOS, the energy Assessor Accreditation and Certification body, who then failed his initial assessment. The energy efficiency rating for my property has now improved as a direct result of a quality audit that was completed by QUIDOS. The energy assessor of Complete EPC has not bothered to apologise for his inaccurate assessment and extreme rudeness.

______________________________________________________

In response to the reply that I have just received from Complete EPC with regard to my review, I was never rude nor did I ask for my EPC certificate to be changed to a C grade. I simply had doubts about the assessment, which I queried in an email and the response I received was the energy assessor shouting down the phone at me demanding for my bank account details to refund his fee and threatening to remove my EPC certificate from the register.

I had no interaction whatsoever with any members of staff apart from the energy assessor. At no point did Complete EPC "strongly recommended" for me to contact QUIDOS, the accreditation body. I was in shock and in disbelief by the manner in which I was spoken to, and it was at my own initiative that I decided to contact QUIDOS. It was the Technical team of QUIDOS, who advised me to send a written complaint to them. Even QUIDOS confirmed that the energy assessor of Complete EPC came across to them as "uptight" and "brash" over the phone.

QUIDOS thanked me for my written complaint and confirmed that a decision was taken to carry out a quality audit on the EPC. They confirmed that they would involve the Energy Assessor to collect all the evidence gathered on the date of the assessment. After looking at all the evidence, QUIDOS wrote back to me confirming that the quality audit carried out on my EPC certificate came back as 'a fail'. They then directed the assessor to relodge the report with specific changes. Thanks to QUIDOS I have now an accurate certificate that properly reflects the energy rating of my property, gaining one additional star for my main heating, two additional stars for my hot water rating, and my estimated energy costs for the property and energy efficiency rating have both improved.

I am not a trouble maker. I wrote my review on this portal to expose the awful experience I had with Complete EPC. They have demonstrated to be not only highly unprofessional, but LIARS as well.

Complete EPC initially responded to my review with their very distorted version of events. They have now decided to change their response by removing the majority of their original comments...

Harder than it needed to be

Company refused to send me the EPC to verify with the estate agents without recieving full payment first. After the man came to do the assessment we wanted to verify that it was above board before handing over money. This was made very difficult, as he clearly believed we wouldn't pay upon receipt (unlike all other works/surveys we have ever had carried out on the property). Unprofessional and ultimately not worth the hassle and the attitude.
