Avoid Saige decking

Bought Saige composite decking back in May/June 2018 from Saige local distributor which was classed as premium product with A ten year warranty.
First issue in June 2023 was over a 11 metre run decking had shrunk 150mm in total leaving large gaps on board ends
Contacted Saige direct and they sent their then U.K. Sales manager to visit
At the time of visit he did not mention or criticise the decking install in any form or manor and explained the shrinkage could only be down to composite mixture being faulty in their Chinese factory and agreed to replace the black border boards FOC and I arranged to remove and install replacements at my cost
Fast forward to May 2025 I noticed that the larger area of dark grey boards had suffered from severe fading over the winter period and was now almost white also some boards had suffered some damage and deformation ( Even though joists are at 400mm centres ) on closer inspection the composite appeared to have degraded gone hard and brittle in areas
Contacted Saige again and they agreed to send their new business manager out to inspect
He duly visited site and openly said it was the worst case of fading he had seen on Saige product again no mention of install said he would go away make his report and get back to me.
After chasing I was shocked to receive an email from him saying that Saige do not guarantee against fading issues
And the deformation, damage and composite change in structure was due to installation ( A total different stance to when he visited )
Yes there were some install issues of some clips missing screw’s etc , but nothing that could be the root cause of my issues
I then asked for an independent analysis of my boards I agreed to remove one board and Saige agreed to send me replacement board and on arrival the colour difference between old and new was like Night and Day
Sent photo to a Director at Saige who agreed to replace up to 14 boards and provide new clips
I duly refused as to have 14 odd boards ln approximately 50 square metres would look stupid , the director then suggested I paint the total deck to correct colour miss match ( So much for Saige low maintenance products )
I insisted they replace all the grey deck, Saige director then asked I produce my receipt for the original deck purchase
Unfortunately I couldn’t and tried to get a copy but the distributor only kept copies for the statutory period
Saige refuse to check their records for their transaction to distributor which they SHOULD KEEP FOR ITS 10 YEAR WARRANTY
Avoid Saige U.K. and it’s products
