Grossly Incompetent

This company is like a textbook definition of "grossly incompetent." I submitted POA documentation several times, and when I have called they have confirmed that the documentation is on file. However, after four attempts to sell shares and close accounts, I continue to get rejection letters from them stating that they cannot process the request until I submit POA documentation. Every time, I call them and they once again confirm that they have the POA documents on file -- but then I have to go through the process again of filling out forms, getting a nonsensical stamp from the bank on the forms, and resubmitting them - only to have them again tell me that they cannot process the forms because they are lacking POA documentation. I have struggled to sell these shares and close all Computershare accounts for at least four years, and they still will not comply.

Query answered. Situation clarified.

The lady who took my call (Raksheen?) was extremely helpful. She followed the somewhat complicated nature of my enquiry, sought further information while I was put on hold for a few minutes, and clarified the position for me.

Asking for trouble

Their interests are these massive companies and not you. Website is terrible, no customer service and they don't want to help the retail person. Their customers are VZ, MCD, etc. Like many companies, they were great to do business with at some point. I have to go full paper statements on all of my holdings because the site is so bad.

After my dad passed

After my dad passed, I have been trying to liquidate shares held by computer share for my mom. Computer Share keeps telling me that they are processing a transfer.
Why in the hell can’t they just sell the shares and cut a check. No they have to transfer the shares then sell them which obviously takes months. Will never do any business with them or MetLife again. Never buy universal life insurance either.

Probably the worst call center with…

Probably the worst call center with outdated phone systems that the call always drops in the middle of every conversation. It’s a nightmare to deal with them and get things done not to mention that they hardly speak any English. And that’s the live agents on the phone. Now the live agent on their website, just closes the conversation before they even answer your questions!!!
Ridiculous

Consistently AWFUL for 10+ years

This is a consistently atrocious customer experience, and that's been true for 10+ years. I'm locked out of my account and I'm told it's 2 business days to unlock it. I said, then send me my tax information in the mail. Then I'm told my account is restricted. And no one can talk to me or help me. What? Incredibly frustrating every single time I have had to interact with this terrible company, whether it's phone calls or the website.

Most frustrating company ever

The transfer of three stocks from my late husband’s name to mine has been a nightmare from beginning to end and is still not complete after six weeks. I am forced to probate in order to get a gold medallion stamp because one stock is $1,000 over their limit. These are unnecessary expenses and a rather big undue hardship for me. I am told constantly that the need some other document which I have already provided. And their AI five minute inquisition before you can be sent to an agent is ridiculous and makes me end up screaming into my phone. Wake up Computershare, if I wanted to talk to a machine I can chat with my refrigerator. I have nothing good to say about this company and wish there was a way to give it no stars. If you have to deal with them, heaven help you.

Trying to sell some shares

Trying to sell some shares was very difficult. The website is not user friendly for folk who arent't buying and selling shares regularly - so much impenetrable jargon. However, when I called them up, Ruqshana was brilliant - explained it all, guided me through what I needed to do and I was able to completethe deal. 5 stars to Ruqshanna, 3 stars at best for the website. Deplorable, no service.

Sadly, they are violating 2003 federal law by forcing people to use portals, 'going green' or forcing auto deposit nor complying with banking requirements. Even worse, the automated is very poorly designed, (we are NOT required to speak with auto/ AI) and deal with their dropped calls. You must call back 5 times to get as far as a human; who has no answers, does not listen, cannot repeat what you say. Time to reduce the HIGH salaries of too many managers and put that money INTO the company paying for competent personal answering phones!!!!

Not Fit For Purpose

Computershare are a dangerous company. They have created links with US companies on the false pretext that they can deal with international shareholders when they actually can't. Their computer system is inadequate rendering access from abroad impossible. This results in them misappropriating vast sums of money from overseas clients who were forced to use them when (as employees) their companies created shareholder schemes.

Customer Service

Rukshana went above and beyond. I had some lost certificates. She went through all the old certifictes, 9 years worth, so I could figure out which ones were missing, and step by step, told me what I needed to do next.

Worst Customer Service on Earth

I would love to have a talk with the CEO about their crap customer service trying to get help after my father passed away and left shares to my mom. The transfer process is way too complicated when you don’t have the Medallion Certificate. Every time I call, it’s someone new and I have to re-explain the entire process over and over. Worst company to deal with. I’m still trying to get this resolved. Going on 8 months now!! Ridiculous

Over 3.5 hours in 2 days speaks for…

Over 3.5 hours in 2 days speaks for itself. The absolutely worst experience in my lifetime.
The first clue: 2 usps letters received in one day. Each had a different narrative and each contained a different account number. Then on that evening spending over 2 hours trying to follow directions. Tried over and over again to transfer my account whilst following instructions to the tee! Even checking off each step to make absolutely sure I made no errors. I have been a computer teacher, owned a computer business and a computer non-profit. College educated with degrees in computer science included. What could possibly go wrong? Everything! Then the next day contacting their off-shore support center. The first thing that hits you is "oh no." Tried about 9 attempts to get my transferred account working. Then the ID fiasco. Says any government ID. Tried with no luck. Thereafter it demanded a D/L or passport. Tried the D/L. It failed. Finally got it to accept but they next ask for a live picture now with a time limit to respond.

The programmer/analysts that created their site for sure have severe mental challenges. Must have been hired during the dei challenges or come from off-shore. In total frustration I even ran them on a trusted AI driven highly respected site named GROK. It stated that computershare it credible but their support is the worst. FINALLY they forced me to change from Chrome to Firefox. That failed as well. Then they asked me to use Edger.

Hey computershare FIX IT or quit the business!

I called Computershare and asked them…

I called Computershare and asked them to close this account and Supervisor Celia refused to give her last name, badge number or the phone number of the corporate office. I then waited on hold for 2 hours to finally close this account.!!! Do not use this Company, and the Superviser Celia should be fired for failing to close my account when I asked.

Worst investment company ever

Worst investment company ever. Most uselss customer support ever. Website, phone and chat aren't allowed to take an address change request. They expect me to mail them an address change request in writing. When I tried to give them a review all of the sudden my brower magically got hit by a virus. SCAMMERS!!!

Avoid at any costs

Avoid at any costs - completely useless broker with weird internal rules, lack of customer service philosophy and ticketing system.
If you get your stocks there - move them asap to any other vendor/broker via DRS

Awful, disgusting, anti-compassionate to executors

My parents owned a joint account with shares of a single stock. First, my father passed several years ago. I went through a needlessly lengthy, paper intensive process requiring medallion certification to get his named removed from the account. Afterwards, absolutely nothing happened - no change in account ownership.

Then, my mother passed. Now, they have an internet process with 2 process options. Option 1 requires you to use a chatbot to get to a customer service rep. Great! The chatbot IMMEDIATELY says “your conversation” is terminated the moment you open the chatbot pop up. Option 2 offers the same paperwork I used for my dad’s passing years ago. The same paperwork Computershare took no action on the first time. It still requires a medallion certification. Fine, only now my local bank no longer offers that service. No problem medallion has a list of financial institutions that offer medallion services; however, it’s incorrect. I checked with those institutions locally - they don’t.

I find a number to call Computershare directly. After significant wait they answer, they transfer me to the “office that helps customers who don’t have medallion available to them”. Another long wait, then *click*, phone call”s over. I have literally closed out dozens of executor actions in the time I’ve wasted with Computershare without result.

I hate this company.
