Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 210 reviews, most reviewers were unhappy with their experience overall. Many people expressed significant dissatisfaction with the customer service, finding it consistently poor and unhelpful. Customers frequently reported difficulties in contacting the company, often experiencing long wait times, dropped calls, and issues reaching a human representative. The website was also a common source of frustration, with users encountering problems with online logins and finding it difficult to navigate or access necessary information. Conversely, a small portion of people felt satisfied with specific interactions, highlighting individual staff members who were described as knowledgeable, patient, and effective in resolving issues. Worst company to deal with

It is incredible that a company THIS bad at customer service is allowed to manage stocks. Their online system works like it was built in 1990. When you register they say they must send a personal access code BY MAIL!. They say it will take 5-10 business days. It takes MONTHS. And then, the code, when it comes, won't work. And customer service can't help you except to send out another code BY MAIL! Avoid Computershare.

Feel there was a unfair amount of time of sell requedt

Mailed a sell order and it arrived July 7th, at 1:03 pm. Unfortunately for me I left the three words “sell at market”.

This allowed them to hold from selling for 5 days. That Monday the 7th through Monday the 15th it traded between 81.00 to 83.40. They sold it Tuesday 15th at 77.95. Sell was on Wells Fargo. When they sold Tuesday they say it because the could hold it 5 days. Not sure why they didn’t sell on the fifth day.

Couldn’t talk to a manager only customer service rep. Although she made an urgent request.

On a 5,134 share sale the difference was 28,800 thousand dollars. My representative didn’t know why I was upset; since the check was sent. I said I wouldn’t have cared if you sent the check at the end of August.

I think I will reach out to the US Securities and Trade Department.

An absolutely horrible company

An absolutely horrible company whose website doesn't function so that you have to call them directly and sit on perpetual hold. Then the representatives are helpless to solve the problems but they do manage to waste a vast amount of time data mining you. They will also charge you high fees for services that their website would perform for free IF their website worked (which it doesn't)

So many things went wrong:

So many things went wrong:
I and 1 easily confused.
Failure to recognise IAG, a term used by them, so had to put in full name.
They don't know the difference between left and right.
My call was due to be answered within two minutes - but that message was given to me at least six times, so time obviously stands still in their office.

Absolutely do not use this site to trade

The most difficult site to use, password reset takes waiting for a letter, a change to bank details takes a wait of 16 days. Staff are rude and dismissive. They fall far behind other investment sites in ease of being able to trade. If you are happy to jump through 5000000 hoops then go ahead and use them.

Will not allow you to get your money…

Will not allow you to get your money unless you agree so all cookies. Basically holds your money unless you comply.

States that you must pay 10% of the amount owed you to them unless you set up a direct deposit, but there is no menu option to do that. Again, holds your money unless you comply - but there is no way to comply.

Small investors are impacted greatly, big ones not.

We were swindled!!!!

They represent National Healthcare Properties INC. My wife invested $2,500.00. ( After about 10 years, Now worth only $1,465.99 so they say?) We are not allowed to get our investment back. For years I have been trying to get it returned, but they wont give it back. I dont believe they have any money left!!! They are thieves!!!
You can't even look them up!
Computershare can't help us, DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY YOU MAY END UP REGRETTING IT LIKE US!!!
It is only $2,500. But means alot to us!

Comptershare says no

I am the administrator of a deceased family member's estate. TodayI have tried to contact Computershare four times and waited for over half-an-hour in total. When I managed to get through, whoever was on the other end sounded as if they were in goldfish bowl and then put me through to their customer services feedback survey rather than speak to me. On the other occasions I was waiting for between eight and 11 minutes before being disconnected. This company is either grossly inept, grossly incompetent, or grossly lazy - whichever it is, they simply do not answer the phone and waste your time and money. I have to speak to them but I tried previously about a month ago to find out some information and exactly the same issue. Kept waiting and then disconnected after about eight minutes. This is a case for the FCA. I cannot administer the estate without having spoken to them, but even when you get through, they divert you or disconnect you rather than speak to you. I deal with a lot of companies for my role as executor and also professionally. This one does not even appear to have a functioning customer services phone line. Whoever is on the switchboard simply cannot be bothered to do their job or is unable to press the correct button and speak. And they have your money. I have worked in telecoms myself. I know exactly what is going on at Computershare. Computershare says no. Can't be bothered to do their job.

Update -

After writing this, I emailed Computershare using the address online. Address not found. Take your shares elsewhere.

Finally Spoke With My Answer to Prayer

Today, was the only "truly good experience" I have had with Computershare, and this was because of a very kind and patient young woman named Abbie!!

This is the only reason I give a "5" rating in my review today. She was amazing, and helped me navigate through some tough issues, that I had not previously been able to resolve, and I have made so many calls to Computershare that I can't count anymore!!!

Thank you Abby! In all fairness, I have spoken to other kind people at Computershare, and like Abby, they are assets to the Company.

Having said that, however, if were to rate my overall experiences, previous to my "long" call with Abby today, I would only give Computershare 2 stars.

Excellent example of staff member's Customer Care

Today's 5-star review for Computershare is based entirely on the excellent customer care shown me by Rukshana, one of Computershare's telephone agents. I have somehow managed to end up having three calls answered by Rukshana. In addition to her professionalism and knowledge of policy and procedures, each call has shown her to be polite, pleasant, and patient.

As my calls have related to resolving matters connected to the transfer of shares after a bereavement, this has been of great value and much appreciated.

Thank you Rukshana.

Excellent Customer Service

I was on a long call with Abi, trying to register my account after much frustration. Abi determined that the problem lay in the browser I was using and the email domain, which was outdated. I commended her for her infinite patience, persistence and friendliness. She turned a bad problem into a pleasant experience.

Getting through is next to impossible

Getting through is next to impossible, numerous calls dropped, get told the wait time is 1 min, call gets dropped after 30 minutes. And they still insist on using cheques....
Why any company would use this service is beyond me

I required my account details updated as i haven't been able to access my account, from the online assistant Kemi to the phone assistant Rukshana, they were amazing! Very polite, nothing was too much trouble, assisted with all my questions, updated my details with a what felt like smile. Pretty refreshing these days. Keep up the great work!
