A supplier -
Absolute money making racket. 15 years I have been dealing with this nonsense, and for 15 years it has been frustrating, unhelpful, poorly served and money spent for no real discernible benefits. Now we have to pay extra to get verification done in a timely manner.
They randomly reject polices they accepted the year before, don't give clarification on why, repeat the same statements over and over, and the customer "service" is a joke.
I have had polices rejected because it "did not address the requirement" . So I change the title of the SAME POLICY and they accept it!
Because they don't read anything. You could literally submit a blank document ,and as long as the title is what they want, it will be accepted.
They apply a one size policy across all businesses, regardless of your legal structure or business practices.
It is typical of the platforms. They want your money, that's all. They also forget that without us suppliers, they have no product to sell to buyers.
Severely fed up with this rubbish.

We've been with Construction Line since its conception over 20 years ago. If you filter reviews on this page to all of the one star ones, virtually every negative comment could have come from us.
The system now bears no resemblance to the early days, prices are over-inflated, and the perpetual drip of requests to update individual pieces of information is enough to push you over the edge.
There is no way to avoid question sets that are largely irrelevant to niche areas of construction or smaller companies, resulting in more time spent Unverified than Verified (despite having completed everything that could possibly be completed) and the necessity to write procedures that are utterly irrelevant to our business - just to get a box ticked.
Then there are the vagaries of different auditors to contend with - what's acceptable to one is unacceptable to another. There's no way of controlling which desk your application lands on, or of contacting the 'auditor' to explain / rationalise / reason.
Customer Service is non existent, it's impossible to make contact by phone, and the online chat is only useable if you have all day to dedicate to it.
The only thing that Construction Line is good at is convincing main contractors that they should demand smaller contractors hold it. And that is the only reason we stay with them - our customers demand it. I imagine Construction Line are fully aware of that, hence the ease with which they ramp up prices (we've seen an increase of 201% in the last four years) and the lack of any kind of service or consideration for the users of the platform.
Avoid if at all possible!
Edited to say that the auto response received to mine and all other negative reviews is simply indicative of how little Construction Line care!

Weve been compliant for years on this platform - we dont have a choice, a few of our clients demand it - and I am flummoxed at the level of detail being requested, the new question sets, the cost and the delays.
The drip drip effect of asking for additional information is soul destroying. Its like playing Whack a Mole. You sort one area out and another pops up.
We cant receive payments or start projects for certain contractors because we are nearly always outside accreditation.
I have been in a feedback loop (10 working days each submission!) for about 7 weeks now and we are waiting to start a major contract. The contractor wont sign the order until we can show Gold again.
I asked for yet another submission to be hurried up a bit the other day and I was told that it couldnt be speeded up unless I paid the next level membership.
The question set is not flexible. If your company doesnt fit the mould you are still required to write policies and procedures to match it.
The original aim of Constructionline was excellent but the product is now so far removed from its aim its unrecognisable.
This product is a threat to our 60 year old+ business.

The worst company I have ever dealt with.
Their assessors make things up every time they look at a new assessment, one assessor will tell you one thing, then another rejects the submission that meets the first advisors criteria. There is no accountability, inadequate training, no supervision, no management, and they charge us thousands for this appalling service. Following a complaint I was assured things would improve. No sign of improvement again today.

I cannot praise Iris Lorking high enough after our recent Teams meeting regarding getting the best out of the Marketplace tool. She explained everything in great detail and at the end of our meeting I felt more confident to use Marketplace to help our business. Nothing was too much bother to her when I stopped her to ask questions and she explained everything in a clear and precise manner. If I had to give Iris marks out of 5 I would get her 5+++, thank you Iris.

I had a Teams Business Review with our Customer Success Manager Kristal Tyrell-Johnson. Kristal was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly during the meeting and shared some useful information around new tools available as part of our Constructionline membership, which I had not used & didn't realise were available. She took time to ensure that our business was getting the most we could from our subscription and gave clear information during the call & also within a follow up email. I will definitely continue with our reviews as this will be beneficial to our business moving forward and would highly recommend Kristal as a fantastic advocate for their business.

Abdi Ibrahim was very helpful - great guy !
Our experience with Constructionline has been extremely frustrating and disappointing.
We have repeatedly submitted documents in good faith, only to receive rejection feedback that is unclear, inconsistent and issued in stages rather than as one complete list of requirements. Each time we amend documents based on the comments received, further points are raised later, creating unnecessary delays and duplicated administrative work.
One particular issue is that our company does not use subcontractors, yet we have still received rejection feedback asking for evidence relating to subcontractor environmental management. Instead of providing clear guidance on how a company with no subcontractors should evidence this, the process has created more confusion.
We fully support proper compliance checks, but the assessment process should be transparent, consistent and proportionate. In our case, it has felt like a box-ticking exercise rather than a constructive review. The delays have affected our ability to maintain accreditation and support tendering opportunities.
For a paid accreditation service used by contractors and clients across the construction industry, I expected a much higher standard of communication, clearer assessor feedback and a more professional escalation process.
Based on our experience, I cannot recommend Constructionline unless they significantly improve the consistency, clarity and fairness of their assessment process.

Our business review meeting with Robert was professional, useful and informative. As a company we now have a better understanding of the portal and all the features it has to offer.
Robert followed up after the meeting with all the information as promised. Very pleased with the service.

Sharlene provided us with a detailed business review of our Constructionline Gold membership. Like many others, we had initially assumed it was simply an accreditation, but she helped us understand the wider value it can offer.
We’re really excited to implement the recommendations she shared and are hopeful they will help us generate new prospects and opportunities moving forward.

Zsofia was very clear in communicating the benefits and how to use the market place site. Was open to any questions and was able to answer anything asked.

The issues were all discussed during a business review this morning.
Main issues are lack of consistency with assessments and the perception of assessors.

Great straightforward training session on how to use the portal for a better outcome.

Gone down hill - as someone who uses CL daily the service has gone rapidly downhill, my contractors have uploaded updates over 3 weeks ago, I know because that's how long I have been chasing them to be reviewed, if I didn't know any different, I would think they reduced a lot of staff. I used to be able to speak to help and ask them to review the docs, now you get a bot between times or if you lucky you can be at position 32 or 47 by the time you come around you've moved on to other checks. We insist on gold but I certainly wouldn't pay 7 grand for this service.

I would like to thank you, Zsofia, for our last meeting, where we went through all the important sections on the Constructionline portal. Zsofia kindly explained and updated me on both the existing and new functions available, including the new search options and Market Intelligence, which I hadn’t explored much before.
Thank you also for the summary email, which allowed me to review everything afterwards.
I really appreciate all the explanations and instructions, delivered in a very professional and easy way. Thank you.

I have had a account overview call with Zsofia Forro, as I have recently taken over a position in my company and wanted to learn more about how to use a portal. All the questions I've had have been answered the the consultant has been very patient and informative.
Better work on the portal is still required as the waiting times for submissions can be way over SLA, but overall had a good experience with the company and people working for it.
