Oxford Continuing Education is a total scam. It is NOT taught by Oxford professors but by a revolving door of adjuncts who could never get a tenured job anywhere. They show zero interest in students besides taking their money to free-ride on Oxford's name, without offering ANY Oxford benefits. Full-time programs at Oxford are legitimate, Continuing Education is a joke
I enrolled in an online poetry course which I understood did not have live sessions. While this might have offered a useful amount of flexibility, I was disappointed to learn - only once the class started - that there would be no recorded lectures. Instead, the class is conducted only through assigned readings and chat threads on a portal.
If you are comfortable with communicating on Reddit, this course style might work for you. However, I was not expecting it based on the description. Had I known, I would not have enrolled. What is worse, Oxford is not refunding my money but issuing a credit for another online course. It is highly unlikely I will find another course that both interests me and involves a streamed lecture.
