I had been after a particular amp and after a bit of searching (actually going to page 2 on Google) I found it for a great price at this place. I did have a small issue trying to order online, though Mark was able to bear with me through what seemed like setback after setback at my end, remaining friendly and professional throughout, until we found a way to make the order happen. Very pleased with the service and happy to support an independent music shop.

Saw a second hand Ashdown bass amp via Google, and they also had a 'preloved' small Ashdown bass cab. Both were accurately described as being very good condition, and they weren't kidding. The cab cannot be distinguished from a new one I now have, and the amp was without a mark on it anywhere. Both worked perfectly.

More's the point though is how patient Matthew and Mark were - I had quite a few questions, changed my mind about which amp to buy, and felt like I was being a customer from hell, but they were nothing but kind, courteous and professional. Very pleased with the result and the goods, sent immediately, were so well packaged it took me an hour to get them out.

My mic wireless adaptor came the next day. They also laid down a wheelchair ramp and helped me up it.

Cooks has exactly what I wanted ,and the shop is very clean and well layed out certainly one of the best music shops in Norfolk

Rapid-fire service and attentiveness. The item I purchased was very rare in the time period I found it, hence my excitement. The price was staggeringly low - I would have even accepted it being secretly b-stock, but the instrument was totally fresh (!)

I ordered a pre-loved Marshall acoustic amp on Thurs. It was at a very fair price with free shipping. The amp is as new and sounds great. It was unbelievably packed for safe delivery and it arrived the next day. I am very impressed and would higjly ecommend.

I've been considering a BOSS OC-5 Octave Pedal for quite a while and nobody has them in stock, however Cookes did. On the off chance, I asked whether they could try out a couple of ideas on my behalf, as I'm not local and they were happy to. They rang me back less than 20 minutes later and gave me a better idea of what it could do. A bit more research and I ordered it. Arrived the next day!

Bought a PRS Custom 24 US made and got a great deal from Cookes Music. We spent a hour trying out several guitars and the service we received was excellent. One small issue that we noticed after getting the guitar home on a locking machine head was rectified free of charge.
Mark and his team at Cookes Music are knowledgable, friendly and let you have all the time you need to try out a potential purchase.
This is a music shop where customers are appreciated and welcomed. I recommend Cookes to anyone that is looking for a guitar.

Bought a Strat in the midst of lockdown but that didn’t effect my experience. The guitar was delivered to me in person and I was asked the day after if I was enjoying the guitar, safe to say I was! Fender sent the wrong trem arm but Cooke’s were very helpful in sourcing the right one. I was CC’d in the emails to Fender and it was all very reassuring. Would highly recommend this local, independent music store!

This place used to be really great but now has turned snooty. We went in to try out some of their top end ukes for my son and I must have accidentally put one back too roughly because one of the men there ran over to me and literally raised his voice at me saying ‘these are worth thousands of pounds do not pick them up by yourself’. I’m giving this review two stars because it used to be a lovely friendly place where you could try the instruments first but apparently it’s turned elitist now. Such a shame.

I have been buying gear and looking in their amazing drum showroom for 30 years !!!
I still get the same excitement to visit the shop and try out the drums sticks and cymbals. Still the same brilliant customer service, showroom and deals.

Cooke’s is always a great experience. Very knowledgeable staff who always find the time to talk through what would be best for what you need. They often suggest little things that make a big difference to the quality of tone I’m getting. I also sold on my Martin through them, again, I got fantastic service and the preparation work they did ahead of the sale meant that the buyer got a fabulous guitar in the best possible condition.

Simply put, old fashioned good honest customer service is dying in modern retail, but NOT at Cookes. You’ll always get great advice with no hard sell. I’ve been using Cookes on & off since 1982, and no complaints yet...!

Great music shop in the heart of the city. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff who guided me through the purchase of a guitar and amp package for my son. They did me a fantastic deal and a free check up once the guitar had settled in. Would highly recommend to everyone.
