Cook's Direct made it right.
My wife and I ordered a fan which was sent without a few parts and slightly dented blade from the manufacturer. A representative of Cook's Direct quickly made it right and shipped us a whole fan to make it right. Best customer service I've seen in a long time.

I ordered and received a KitchenAid Commercial 8-quart bowl from them. While I have received the mixer already, their website state that it'll ship in 2-3 business days but didn't happen. I think this is because the order is being completed by KitchenAid directly and not from Cook's Direct.
So I never received a tracking order or any status of my order and shipment until one day it showed up on my doorstep.From a customer standpoint that's was very lacking.
In the meanwhile I also learned that they do not honor the warranty but want you to deal with KitchenAid directly if any problems occur.
It seems they are only a middle man that takes orders and passes them along.

Poor customer service
Ordered black steel pan as highly recommended by cooks. Credit card charged. Then I get an email weeks later advising that my pan is back ordered and won't be shipped until mid November!

Refund came
Cooks Direct didn't have a pan in stock despite no warning of this state of affairs on the Web site. Then I got an email saying that it wouldn't ship until November. Had to call to get the money refunded to my credit card, but they did make that happen. Probably won't use these folks again.

We had two six burner stoves but needed a grill. The flat top was a great option.
Item backordered, for over a month, no contact from seller
I cannot rate this company because I have ordered one item, which was backordered with an expected delivery date of about now, and I have heard nothing from the company as to whether the item will be delivered as promised or is further delayed. I am used to more contact from a seller for an item backordered for longer than one month.
As this was a gift, I am more concerned than I might be if I simply ordered the product for myself.
What surprised me was the response to "Laurence" from Cooksdirect's customer service, which is included in these reviews - it was poorly written and surprisingly rude. I had originally rated this company as "average" but changed my rating based on the lack of nuance or sensitivity to that customer who spent money with this company when he could have spent his money for the same product anywhere else. Someone else should be in charge of their public face, and it was this response that has prompted me to NEVER purchase any other item from this company, again.
The nature of a company is often revealed under the stress of a complaint (whether real or perceived, it doesn't matter) - good companies, reliable companies, companies that deserve my hard-earned dollars step up, and address the issues truthfully, without any unprofessional edge of snark or scolding, with a genuine apology.
We attempted to order a carbon steel skillet from the cooksdirect.com website several weeks ago. Their response, or lack thereof, was horrible.
This was our first, and last, purchase experience from the cooksdirect.com website. After several weeks of waiting, they finally responded that they were out of stock, back ordered, and that Amazon would be in touch with a refund. So far, no word from Amazon.com, and the cooksdirect folks need to get their act together. This is "customer service" at its worst.
We still want the skillet, and would have much preferred an intelligent response (not a "blow off") on the status of the cooks.direct back order e.g. will this item be in stock again (if so, when) or has it been discontinued.
Going forward, I'd be shocked if someone at cooksdirect.com took the time to look up my order, and provide me with a more intelligent response. (My contact information is included with the order.) If they choose to ignore this comment (and I suspect they will), they are wasting their money, and my time, on surveys like this.
Ordered and paid for but not delivered!!
On August 9th I ordered at frying pan. I was told that I ordered one of the last two. The pan never came. When I called, the woman on the phone told me that since I didn't have a delivery tracking number, she couldn't help me. So I wrote to the website and was told the next day that the pan would be delivered in late October or November. No explanation. And yet my credit card was charged. I would order from this firm again only if the CEO promised to deliver the order to my house himself.

HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY ORDER, OR A REFUND FOR MY PAYMENT.
WAS TOLD THE ITEM WAS BACKORDERED LAST MONTH, WILL SHIP IN SEPT. WELL, HERE IT IS, IT'S SEPT, AND NOTHING....NOT EVEN AN UPDATE. ANGER AND FRUSTRATION IS GROWING.

Good service - Problem with merchandise
The purchase & shipping were fine. The product, a Matfer black steel frying pan, warped on the bottom after one use on my glass flat top range, rendering it useless. I followed all instructions for seasoning & cooking. I have written to Cooks Direct, just yesterday & haven't heard from them yet. If this resolved, I will rate them as 5 stars.
Still Waiting
I ordered a skillet for a birthday gift in early August, got an email it was back ordered and wouldn't ship until more than a month later. Still not received. Offered me a discount on my next order! What's wrong with giving the discount on the order they can't fill timely?

Great Great Fan
Really fast shipping fan is a power house makes a bunch of air. The only problem i had was getting the outside cage on the rear cage to cover the blades. Probaly a trick to it i wish they would give a hint on the blade covr but is really a good heavy duty fan.

I ordered online with no assistance. Everything was self explanatory and I received the product undamaged in a timely manner.
Bad Business
I purchased a $600 item, and before it was shipped I found it for $500. I called and asked if they could match the price or even lower it, I would be crazy to pay $100 more for the same item. They refused, so I cancelled the order. They wouldn't give me a full refund but instead charged me $157 to restock and return ship.....
Never doing business with these people again.
