Unbelievable what a bad support

Unbelievable what a bad support. They ask you to send system information and after you sent this immediately without hesitating they close your ticket , accusing you of not having replied within 3 days.

Dire products and ineffective support

Corel's products, eg Paint Shop Pro, used to be excellent - they are now dire and unusable. Issues include: Daily desktop popup ads that cannot be removed. Files / folders left locked after closing software. Repeated, constant random crashes. Refusal to acknowledge bugs. 10 second delay when opening Paintshop Pro (if it opens at all). Software support that just keep repeating fixes that do not change anything since the issues are in Corel's ancient code. Support that hangs up on chat calls without reason. Refusal to refund. (Photo/Video Bundle). Don't purchase - you will lose your money and be left with software that simply does not work is that is wholly unfit for purpose. They are selling products knowing that they are unlikely to function. In my book that is fraud and I certainly feel defrauded.

Useless customer services - Impossible to resolve simple issue

If you get a new computer and want to move paint shop pro to the new computer, then you can't do it. I contacted customer services with this issue and couldn't get anywhere, I think the email replies I got actually came from an automated response like Alexa. It was that bad.

When you send an email, their system responds (with a useless response), your original message is removed, so makes things really difficult. It then keeps contacting you every day asking for updated information. For over a week I have kept asking "what information" and get the same identical response asking for updated information every day.

I purchased Photoshop Pro 2020 and downloaded online, the product key does not work, Corel refuse to help or refund. Been using Corel for 20 years, must have new owners. They send me emails telling me to click link to knowledge page and when I try that I am blocked. If they can send me notifications and tell me about responses then they could just send me the info I need. They have very efficient methods to take my money but nothing for helping me. So I have the photoshop pro that i cannot use and no help and no refund. Lousy company now.

Good alternatives to some main stream software

Somewhat surprised to see the poor reviews here.

I have been using Paintshop Pro for a few years now, and just upgraded to 2021 Pro Ultimate. I'm not a hardcore user, but dabble in it for fun.

I was, though, able to grab a copy of Wordperfect Office Professional dirty cheap through my University. Overall, I like it. Can't give a full five stars for the following reason though:
1) Wish they updated the toolbar. It is outdated. I don't mind it, but I do like the look of how other programs are going.
2) Would like to see some direct integration to cloud services that OneDrive, Google Drive, pCloud, etc... I have pCloud for cloud storage, and it's ok on my computers as I can link directly to the cloud drive. But in-software support would be great.

Also... please, please, please develop some sort of Android app. I don't like having to use WP on my computers, and something different on my mobile devices. Wouldn't mind a standalone e-mail program either, and make it a fully integrated software suite.

If you can grab any of their software on sale, do it. It can be pricey, but it is a good alternative to Office 365 for those looking for it.

Been using Coreldraw for many years and…

Been using Coreldraw for many years and not had any major issues til now. Trying to install my Coreldraw 19 on my new laptop and having all sorts of issues. Talked to 5 different people at Corel to try and help fix it and they arent any help. I've asked multiple times to remote in and assist but I guess they don't do that, they just ignore me when i ask. Loosing money each day I cant work. Awesome. Worst customer service. I will not be buying this software going forward and will definitely not recommend to any of my design friends.

Awful degradation of a wonderful…

Awful degradation of a wonderful software company that I trusted for years and now it takes months to install it and still you can not get it to work.

It has been a year that I have a problem with the installation of CD 2017 over X6. originally I was using the university license fro X6, but the university stopped with the site license, so I bought an educational version of CD2017. that is when the problems started, so I switched back to X6, and then it slowed down, and menus were not showing. so I tried to reinstall my 2017 version and that is when it all fell apart. The support I have been getting was OK initially but right after it installed, it would not let me login. It repeatedly asks me to change the password, and then, it would not accept it saying there are two accounts registered !!!!!. If I could get all my graphics converted to a different platform, I would do it as I can not afford spending months on installing a software I use only 5% of its capabilities just for Engineering technical drawings.

Poor programming, worse customer service

I received a software program Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate together with the appropriate license code. Upon download you are given a choice where to put the installation files if you don't install BUT upon install, the program automatically installs on C drive (you have no choice). Those of us who have smaller SSD drives dedicated to the operating system don't want programs automatically loading themselves to the operating systems drive. It is amazing that the programmers who not give the user a choice of installation locations (they do for other software they make). Customer service, if you can understand them, is of no help. These days, not offering installation choices is either lazy programming or incompetence, or both. In any event, I would avoid Pinnacle and Corel software on these grounds plus the inept customer service.

Absolute con artists!

You pay hundreds of pounds for software that becomes faulty and non-usable to be told that you need to upgrade to their latest product as they have ceased to support older versions. A product of which is yet again hundreds of pounds more again! How are you still in business and how can you continue to get away with this?! These practices need to made illegal.

They won't even send me a link to download my old version so I can try to reinstall it!!!

They are not really thinking about the customer

When trying to work with customer service to inquire about purchasing, I explained I was looking for a certain price range and they were unwilling to even bend on that. Their deal was last years perpetual license at "half-price"-- considering this is software and they are now selling the 2020 model, I don't really see that as a deal. Just marketing.

And that said, I find it very impersonal (as well) when you ask for a discount they are just like, "well, there is this other cheaper product...". They may as well be a chat bot that guides you to a product in their catalog.

My thoughts: It is software. Corel has already paid for the software and, in order to secure another sale, could offer 10-50% on the monthly pricing if somebody asks, or if they wanted to blow their potentials users over with goodwill and generosity among potential customers, even a whole year free, and then Corel would gain a customer using their software and the renewal next year, but there isn't even a place for entering coupon codes-- if that isn't telling enough about their willingness to make a customer happy.

And lastly, pricing. Their monthly subscription is 45 euros a month, while they claim that it is "affordable." Which is technically correct, but in a sense that "if price isn't an issue or you need our software, it's affordable." You can go get Illustrator for less than 30 euros a month, or the whole Adobe Creative Cloud suite for 60-70 euros euros a month.

Given that the 45 euros is for their suite, perhaps its cheap. But if you only want to use CorelDRAW, and only CorelDRAW, you either have to buy the crippled versions in the Essentials or Standard packages. It's like, saying you can buy the horse, saddle, ropes, saddle blanket, riding boots, etc. or, if you just want the horse, you can just buy the horse, albeit you then have to choose between it having only 2 or 3 legs.

Had to put one star as it’s only one I could Choose as no minus ones. Recently bought paintshop ultimate 2020 had few issues registering the licence key which was wrong one they sent spoke too three so called customer service advisors who had no clue and were very rude . Will never buy anything again from this company or recommend them to anyone.

A tragic journey, with the worst support i've seen in a while.

My name is Dion and together with a customer of mine we have been in a tragic journey with corel/pinnacle studio.

To give a bit of context, me (dion) has a IT company and build a PC for the customer. With the endgoal of editing video's on pinnacle (newest version)

So he bought the newest version and started his journey making the video, after 2/3 months of hard work and tons of hours its finished! The pain started
First there were some exporting issues with freezes and black screen. Then after some work we got it all working expect our biggest problem. The audio

My customer is using audio ducking to make the audio go up and down when someone is talking etc.. But the PROBLEM! On the rendered video sometimes the audio doenst come back up! OR it goes ALL LOUD. And men.. we tried a lot

- Calling corel (they are out of service for 9 months or something)
- All forumes related stuff.
- Email

Speaking of email.. thats where we met "Ioana". Who is speaking dutch in the emails and english via teamviewer. Making the appointment took 4 weeks, and when the appoint was due she was late for 30 minutes and made all kinds of excuses about the disk being wrong etc.. And today, 2 weeks later again.. we had another session with the right stuff according to her and we still had the wrong disk and now it was n problem and she tolled us to just reimport all the audio.

Also she was so mean when talking via remote connection, deleted temp files, and doing stuff without asking.

This is the worst experience i've had with a company like this. I've worked with multiple video editing software but this is a new bad experience.

At the end we tolled her we are not going any further and we are going to a other software

Please if you read this dont buy this, and not only pinnacle studio seeing the other terrifying reviews dont buy anything.

I've been a corel user for a number of…

I've been a corel user for a number of years for video editing software. Although I have version X10 Ultimate I recently had the Studio 2020 Software, so far so good, but it's a real nightmare especially where it just randomly closes when you have been putting a video together for the past 4 hours!

Corel "Support" on live chat is non existent appear to be overseas, they tell you to do the basics i.e "Clean Temp Files" reset the program! It's not my Computer it's their bloody program that's full of bugs.

No more with Corel Software, where I wouldn't recommend them to anyone unless they start listing to the paying customer!

Awful customer service ever!

I have just upgraded my PSP 2018 to 2020 via download. I paid with PayPal so it's on record. The download was fine but then when I tried to install the software, it is asking for a serial number. I waited for the email but it never came. I went on to their chat and the person was so incompetent she left the chat room!!

Since then I have sent over 8 emails to them with no response. I will leave it till this evening as it will be 24 hours and the promise of help. I will never ever download an upgrade from this company again. They take your money and deliver zilch.

I now have to close my laptop and lose the download link. To say I am frustrated and annoyed is putting it mildly. Useless customer service ever.

WHAT a nightmare. AVOID! NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

WHAT a nightmare. Spent over £200 on DVD and Blu-Ray authoring software and spent 6 months dealing with the fact it cant create a BluRay with 5.1 surround or menus or anything... EVEN now (requesting refund since (August2019) They were suggesting I re-install software, do CMD tricks and remove devices.... YET a member of staff has said I will get my refund.
Crooks, Liars, con artists... this software is NOT fit for purpose. AVOID this company and look elsewhere. I got new software and completed my ob in 3 days... they are still asking me to re-install.. YAWN.
