Moved to Corum (Troon) after a bad experience with another EA.

The difference was night and day, considering we were selling at the high end of the market (450k - 500k)

ALL the staff were extremely professional & attentive at all times and the quality of interested viewers was very high reflected in our achieved price for our period home.

I would recommend Corum to any & everyone especially if you’re selling at the top end of the market.

I came on to enthuse about Corum and to be honest am shocked at the negative comments. I have used Corum both in the south side and the west end and have found them to the most professional company I have ever dealt with. They are friendly, reassuring and know the business inside out. They could not do more for you and I’m unsure how anyone could rate them less than 5 stars. Don’t let the negative comments put you off as I would not sell my property with any other company

Terrible service!
A Corum agent viewed our property and we were provided with fee information (which was higher than competitors). However, we thought the extra cost would be worth it given the number of properties they appear to sell. We emailed stating we would like them to handle the sale of our property. Over one week went by and no communication. Finally after contacting them again they said that the agent was on holiday. He finally phoned us a week later apologising and said he would get their T&C’s to us and contract to sign. That was over 2 weeks ago and nothing heard from them since. Why waste people’s time Corum?

Very very poor and unprofessional service specially from both partners Mark Lesly and Stivey they tell different things to the people and do totally opposite and if you sell the property they hire very unprofessional people like them.They get the money from you and after they don’t listen to you So if you want to buy or sell the property from Corum then be ready for very very bad experience

Corum Ayr, rude, unhelpful. Customer service training well overdue. Avoid at all costs.

Well where do I begin. Myself and my partner reserved a new build property that Corum were the dedicated estate agent for. When we initially reserved the property in March 2021 we were told that the property was expected to be completed within 6-8 weeks. It got to the end of May and we had no word or update on the property. We tried multiple times to contact corum for an update and were continually told there were no updates. Repeatedly the estate agent dealing with our case would say they would arrange to email us/contact us however this never happened. We then found out in mid June that the builders for this property had gone bust (through word of mouth) and were not completing the build - AGAIN ZERO COMMUNICATION from the estate agent on this matter. We finally were able to get in contact with Corum after ongoing attempts to be told that our reservation fee (which we had paid to Corum) could not be refunded because the builders had gone into liquidation. Now this is the point that gets me most. We paid a reservation fee of £1000 to reserve the property. This fee was paid from our bank account to Corum’s bank account. When we paid this fee we explicitly asked the estate agent what happens if the build doesn’t complete. They replied to us saying in 20 years of working in estate agents they had never seen that! They then also went on to tell us of course our money would be refunded to us in the case that the house was not completed. Roll forward 4 months from when we paid that fee we are now adamantly told we can not get this fee refunded. This company (particularly the Shawlands branch) have completed disappointed us. At no point in the process were they engaging with us for updates or had even a remote interest in us. They are extremely unprofessional, deceitful and incompetent. I would not recommend them for selling or purchasing a property. We have since bought another house and have dealt with several estate agents in this process all of whom have had timely communication with us and kept us updated at all times. Would recommend choosing another estate agent if considering Corum.

If you were selling your property, wouldn't you want as many interested parties as possible to get the best price?

I saw my dream house for sale in Ayr so I expessed my keen interest, arranged a viewing and also a valuation of my current house. The woman on the phone said the property had just gone on the market before virus outbreak and that I was the first to show an interest so would contact me for a viewing when lockdown ended and they opened back up.
After waiting several months for lockdown to end, I drove past it today and noticed it had been sold and I never as much as recieved a phone call.

Im sure the sellers wouldnt be too happy either if they knew as I would've been willing to go well above their asking price.

After two recent separate experiences of trying to buy properties through Corum, we found on both occasions that they appeared to manipulated the offers they received in favour of their preferred clients who were in a chain of buying and selling through themselves. They bring closing dates forward unexpectedly and even denied receiving an official offer to purchase.
Would not use their services again.

My former family home had to be sold after my parents went into care. James and his team looked after every aspect of the sale and kept myself and my sister fully updated at every step of the transaction. They handled all the viewings as we both live out of town. I can’t recommend Corum highly enough for professionalism and sensitivity they showed us under a what we thought would be a more stressful situation.
