I own a rare Blue and Purple Medusa silk Versace shirt …
I own a rare Blue and Purple Medusa silk Versace shirt, purchased in 1996. In 28 years, I’ve worn it about 15 times, always ensuring it was dry cleaned after each use. Relocating my business, I needed a new dry cleaner and tried Cosmopolitan Dry Cleaners. I showed them the shirt, emphasized its rarity, and expressed my concerns. The staff assured me they could handle it and charged £8.65 for the cleaning.
Upon returning home, I was horrified to find the colours near the buttons smudged and the silk frayed, likely from excessive heat. Devastated, I returned to speak to the owner, Costas.
Meeting with Costas was shocking. Despite the clear damage and the cost paid for luxury cleaning, he dismissed my concerns. He claimed they didn’t dry clean the shirt but used a machine to remove odors and ironed it. He blamed the damage on the shirt’s age and storage, not their handling. He tried to fob me off by telling me that all clothes left in your wardrobe for too long become old and fragile, which is absolute nonsense.
I have many high-end garments maintained for over twenty years, still in excellent condition. Costas’s refusal to acknowledge the damage, admit fault, or rectify the situation was unprofessional. His dismissive attitude left me extremely dissatisfied. This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
If you are looking for a dry cleaners to look after your high end quality garments then I would seriously avoid this place!
