Shocking shocking service

Shocking shocking service, continually late deliveries, incredibly rude call handling staff and just a general inability to service customer needs. Ran out of gas entirely due to countrywide poor service and still no idea when they will refill tank. They just lie and lie and lie

Totally frustrated and very cold!!

Absoloute waste of time

Haven't had hot water or heating for two weeks - Its been so cold that our dogs water bowl froze inside the house a few days ago. They missed a delivery on Sunday and didn't even send a message or call to apologies or rearrange - Really sick of this company and every time I want an update I have to wait on the phone for a full hour. I think my next phone call will be to the Ombudsman. Do not fall into the same trap!

Sale of LPG business

Again Countrywide Farmers say the LPG business has been sold. According to the Competition and Markets Authority, whose announcement is dated 5th March, there is at present an investigation into the completed acquisition by Flogas Consumer Limited of the LPG supply business of Countrywide Farmers plc. This investigation was already taking place in January.

Overcharged and below poor service

I have not been at my property since a car accident in October. The tank was refilled about the same time in October. There was a very bad leak and next door called my sister whom discovered it was the countrywide equipment leaking. Countrywide was notified and on visiting the property i found a tanker filling the tank. I stopped the fill as i beleived the leak was not fixed.(no contact from countrywide ) I was later informed it had been fixed and enquired about completion of the fill.. the countrywide employee said" well you have nearly 70% of what was lost that should do you" after a heated disgusion it was agreed that the tank would be filled and there was no charge for gas or repairs. But... last month i was charged £148.37 which i got refunded But again today ive been charged £297.97 when i have had no fuel to which a payment is owed. As per previous reviews their is no answer by phone or email. Its digusting that i had a dd of £80 a month when monies are owed but they keep taking large amounts without reason or explanation. I can garantee that this rxperience will end all future buisness with countrywide not only at my residents but at the famillies farms too.. i would currently not recomend Countrywide to anyone....

Update. Still havnt recieved the rest of my FREE replacement lpg toppup post the equipment leak. Did recieved a statement which is WRONG Wrong wrong. I do not owe monies, You Owe Me Gas. I guess the next move is countrywides but my next move will be to sue for breach of contract and misuse of a Direct Debit.

2nd update. On taking legal advise countrywide is responsible for resolving these issues as the issues originated well before the sale of the lpg and gas side of the company .

Don't become a Countrywide customer if you want service!!!

I have been a Countrywide customer for 10 years, this is the worst they have ever been no customer service worth talking about.
I have placed an order twice on there site in the last week. After I placed the first order I didn't get anything to say the order had been received then a couple of days later tried the track my order on there web site which states they will get back in 24hrs again nothing, I tried again to track the order again nothing, So I placed another order thinking maybe the first order didn't register, so far nothing. I have tried the track my order again tonight, so we will see what happens tomorrow.
I have given up trying to ring because when you do it’s just a long wait I mean give up at least an hour of your time waiting in a queue. I have phoned a few times, on one occassion my cordless phone even ran out of battery waiting, also when they do answer expect to get cut off as soon as a customer service person answers so frustrating.

Today is the 15th March, I was told on the 5th March that my order had been placed on the 28th Feb 2018, led time is 14 days. Guess what, no gas has arrived yet, Tank now on 7% just tried Track your order? Hoping for something by tomorrow as Beast from the East 2 arrives at the weekend. but I'm not holding my breath as countrywide must be one of the worst companies in the country, you should be able to give a minus star rating.

Dreadful Service

I have been a Countrywide LPG customer for more than six years. I was happy with their service until December 2017 when I almost ran out of gas just before Christmas. I had to take two 47Kg cylinders to a store and change them for two 19Kg cylinders to avoid being without heating. This has happened three times since because of Countrywide's consistent failure to deliver within the promised period.
If anybody is thinking of using Countrywide for LPG then think again.

Countrywise LPG is now in a disgraceful state.

Countrywise LPG is now in a disgraceful state. They sold off their retail stores and stated that LPG supplies wouldn't be affected. Previously I have found them very efficient but it is no longer the same outfit. I understand that they are in talks with Flo-gas (from a source within an LPG supplier), but I do not know for sure. Like many others and as a long-term customer of Countrywise I am extremely dissatisfied with the way they have treated my order and for the many customers they have abandoned as revealed on this site. My order was accepted 1 month ago but I might just as well have sent it into space for all the good it has done. It is stated in the terms and conditions that they supply it is possible to obtain temporary supplies from other LPG suppliers, but having tried this with several companies find that this is impossible, for they will not do so without going through a lengthy procedure which is totally impracticable.
Like many others here I have met a stone wall with Countrywise and have virtually written them off altogether They cannot be trusted. I really do suffer from a serious and chronic ailment and am firmly advised to keep warm and therefore need to maintain the home heating in order. Not being sure of when my contract with Countrywise expires I will as soon as possible transfer my business to a more legitimate LPG supplier. It is pity there is no official Regulator or Ombudsman for this industry that one can contact for assistance but one is sorely needed obviously as the welfare of many members of public and their families are very much at risk, particularly with the current icy weather across the country. Maybe it is something to refer to the politicians to examine.

What an LPG Omni-Shambles!

Placed an order online on the 14th of Feb. Recieved an email the next day confirming delivery on the 26th....but no delivery came.

Spent an hour and 15mins on the phone trying to call them this morning. Call was placed in a queue.....from 22nd....to 16th....then back to 25th...but never answered.

Called their main reception number. Answerphone said that "due to unforseen circumstances, we cannot take you call"

Finally got through on their emergency number. Was told they are around a week behind schedule delivering LPG....and someone would call me back....but call there came none.

In fairness, Countrywide have been very good up until now. However, I understand the LPG business has been sold to a new owner and it's clearly going horribly wrong during this transitional period. I won't hang around to find out what they are like and started the process to switch suppliers (Calor Gas) at 34p a liltre for the 1st 12 months....and Counrywide were charging 57p!

Disgraceful customer relations

I have been a customer or Countrywide gas for 5 years. In that time the price has crept up to 55p per litre. Recently my gas supply ran out as, due to an operation, I was unable to check the tank capacity. I made an on line order and received an e mail to tell me someone would contact me the next day to arrange delivery. No one did. I have spent an hour on the phone for the past 3 days, excluding Saturday & Sunday as they do not work those days. I have been 27th in the queue but never had the phone answered. I have Sent 2_e mails and got no reply. I have been without gas for 5 days now and consequently without heating or hot water. I have now found I can get my gas for 35p per litre elsewhere. Terrible service, avoid at all costs.l

No customer service, its not even a joke!!!!!

I have been a customer of theirs for many years and never encountered problems like this. Order lpg 4 weeks ago, chased them 2 weeks ago to be told it would be wc 19 Feb, Surprise surprise no delivery. Have tried to ring them today approx. 6 times and either cut off after 25-45 mins, or a message saying they will connect me to then have the engaged tone. I rang their Worcester office (not the 0800 lpg order number) to be told they were very busy and he would get some one to ring me back, as I am now down to 15% with freezing cold temps on the way and will have no heat or hot water. Wish I could change supplier. WHAT IS GOING ON. Wouldn't be anything to do with the upcoming sale would it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor service and well avoided!

Having seen the numerous reviews on here I can now understand why I'm not receiving any gas. I originally ordered gas on the 2nd February with tank on 25%, told a delivery would take place within 14 days. Nothing came so between then and now 4 calls have been made taking on average 45-50 minutes to get through, usual stock answer that it will be chased up with their delivery department, now on 5% and will soon run out. I was told that a delivery would take place on the 25th Feb (Sun) which was unusual but no surprises that it didn't come. Signed up with them in November 2016 at 32p per litre but went up by 17p per litre since then and now paying 49p per litre. Rung 3 times this morning got cut off twice after 30 mins waiting each time, what's going on here??

We are cold because of countrywide

Eight years of good service from countrywide but it is all falling apart over the last few weeks. Ordered 6th February but after a lot of time waiting in telephone queues, sending emails etc still no gas! We were initially promised a delivery on the 22nd which worried me, but that date passed and no word. I have been told twice that they will get back to me but they don't. I feel for the people at the end of the line but I feel I am being lied to. If they can't deliver according to the contract at least say so because other companies are able to! It's winter and very cold. Trying to stay warm because Countrywide is letting us down is expensive and annoying. Can't they be honest? I'd like to remain a customer but I consider our contract to be breached.

Renewed with Countrywide recently and…

Renewed with Countrywide recently and not impressed !!
We have been with them for years and service has been good hence the renewal.
However ordered gas on 8th Feb with a 14 day delivery and no sign of it. Called them several times to be put in a queue of 9/10 people every time and wait nearly half an hour to be answered only for them to know nothing about the cause of delays. Awaiting a cal back which never happens.
Im sure this is all down to the sale of the company as their countrywide stores are also experiencing stock difficulties due to being sold to Mole Valley.
Take note DCC Plc, you may not have a business worth the £28.75 million you have agreed to pay if Countrywide continue this way so you may need to intervene or pull out !!!
Customers will not put up with such poor service. Im sure someone will soon challenge your contracts as you cannot meet your obligations.
Im reasonably fit, can light a wood burner and put a jumper on so we'll survive if we run out completely (which wont be long) but I fear for the old age people who rely on this heat source.
Who will be responsible if the un thinkable happens to an elderly person especially with the weather the way it is at the moment ?????
Please don't reply to this review with your usual generic and not very sympathetic response asking me to send my number so you can contact me. We all know you won't. JUST SORT YOURSELVES OUT.

Update.
I called them again on Friday 24th and got through to another department.
The representative told me she would make enquiries and call back.
She did call a bit later and said gas would be delivered on Sunday 26th. I wasn't convinced but it was actually delivered !
Seems they are working all hours to get things sorted. Lets hope they can get back on track.

Ordered on 6th Feb

Ordered on 6th Feb. No contact til I phoned to find out where my gas is. Told delivery date of 19th nothing, phoned today, 20 minute wait to be answered. Said my tank is now empty, I have had to turn off heating. They have just left a message with my son to say my gas is coming at the weekend. Pathetic service. Don't go with this company, choose someone reliable.
No doubt they will put an apology on here, that doesn't keep the kids warm!

Countrywide after signing contract

Probably it's not just me who is not happy with this company. If they do not improve they will lose many customers.
What is the purpose of signing a contract if the price after the signing goes up all the time.I signed the contract with countrywide at 0.35 pence per liter for two years. After a year the price has risen up to 0.50 pence / liter, and after half a year the price risen up to 0.60 per liter. And for the last price rise we haven't been given a notice before the price has raised. As soon as the contract comes to the end the price goes up to 0.60p/L.
I have been a customer with them for 4 years.
After all, the price of fuel at the petrol station did not double in two years. I need to feed my children too. That's why we are counting every pence.
I have found another supplier and going to move where is cheaper, only 0.34p/L .
They have contacted me after I have contacted them about the price rise, the person who spoke to me has been very impolite and wouldn't let me to speak so all that person told that the price is correct and if we want to discus the price we need to ring them after our contract expires. So that means LETS PLAY THE SAME GAME AGAIN if you want LPG for lower price.

They do not fulfil their promises/responsibilities

Looking at all the reviews here I now realise that I am not alone.

Countrywide appear not to have a big enough fleet of trucks to cope when demand is high (ie in cold weather), so you tell them when the tank is 40% full, they say they will deliver on a certain date and they don't. You don't hear anything and ring up to ask why, they promise you another date and the same happens. This goes on until they feel like delivering. No proactive service or warning.

We ordered 8 December and finally got some gas 3rd Jan. In the meantime, we had to cut heat and cooking over the festive period when we got to 5%. With an old cold house and two young kids, this was no joke.

I wrote a letter of complaint to the MD Jan 1 and now, Feb 20, have still not had a response. I rang up the other day and after 20 minutes on the 'phone with no progress except to hear that they had got my letter and it had been passed around to various departments, had the 'phone put down on me by a representative who accused me of "shouting".

What makes matters worse is that they are charging 57p when Calor is offering 37p.

Why on earth would anyone trust this shambolic company with the important task of providing an essential service. They do not appear to have the resources to perform.

I'm trying to ring them now, been on hold on the 'phone for 25 minutes, still waiting. Plenty of time to write this review.
