Then to be told I have to pay 260 quid for claim in 1st yr. Cancelled . Appalling manner on phone no customer service. Could buy new washer for that . Gone bk to domestic general whom been with for yrs. Avoid at all costs. Wish id of read reviews 1st coz seems they repeatedly doing same to other people .BEWARE. cheapest ain't always what it seems a d this company should be given training on staff . Terrible customer service. Update there phone lines and tell customers can't claim in 1st year once taken policy out unless want to pay heavy costs of whole policy before claiming
Can't claim in first year
I would give no stars if I could. I not long set a plan up with cover 4 less I think 3 months ago. I got cover for my white goods. My washing machine broke down last week and I tried to get someone out to fix it from cover 4 less, but I was told if I needed to claim in the first year, I would need to pay off the remaining months and excess to make a claim. So it worked of to be £155 i had to pay before I got someone out to fix it. I would of been better to get a new washing machine at this price so thats what I had to do. I have now cancelled my plan with cover 4 less and went back to domestic and general as they cover you from day one if anything goes wrong. This cover 4 less is a biggest scam I think. Avoid them at all costs
No hot water or heating
I have cover for several of my home appliances. I have made my first claim this week, my gas boiler has broken down. 48 hours later I still have no heating or hot water. I’ve been told that the engineer can come next Monday. That will be 1 week without hot water and heating. I am very disappointed in the delivery of service. Once this repair has been completed I will cancel my cover.
Very poor service
I had cover for over two years and when it came to using it it was with great difficulty... I ended up with my dryer NOT being fixed or replaced after 4 weeks... They blamed the company and the area I lived in for it not being done. I ended up cancelling the policy and having to buy a new dryer. I wouldn't go near this company... Avoid at all costs
Demand premiums for no machines covered

My Swan dishwasher broke down. It took absolutely weeks for someone to come out. They only had one engineer in the area of Newmarket. Can you believe it? It couldn’t be repaired. I was offered a bit of money towards a new one which I took the new one Montpelier has its own insurance so I needed to cancel that just recently both my washing machine and tumble dryer had broken down. I had to pay a £55 charge for the engineer to come out to the dishwasher and to the washing machine couple of weeks later the washing machine broke down again so I have replaced it with hot point and replaced the tumble dryer with hot point and both of them came with Insurance from domestic and general so that left me with two fridge freezers. £27 a month and now you have to have a receipt my large American was a gift. I don’t have a receipt my other one I won in the newspaper competition so I don’t have a receipt so actually if I called them out, they wouldn’t do anything cause I couldn’t prove and yet when I took out the insurance and never asked about that I cancelled my direct debit then now threatening me to pay the rest of the premium till October
That is six months or more at £27 a month for nothing. So the premiums I’ve paid and with the two callout fees that amounts to quite a lot and the paltry amount they gave me towards a new dishwasher
I would be paying back to them and more. Why have I got to continue for six months to pay that premium for machines that are not covered? It’s blatant fraud? Let’s see what happens. Don’t insure with these people.

I took out this policy on monthly direct debit however when I tried to make a claim 5 weeks after starting cover (you also can't claim until after 30days of opening account)they then said I had to pay full premium as well as excess which amounted to £280 .....a new washing machine is £249 !!!!! Cancelled policy rip off
Read T&C’s be exceptionally wary of their policies
If you’re looking for cover they are cheaper but don’t be fooled.
The policy is not new for old that’s point1 if the item is not repairable they do not offer new replacement & the settlement offer is depreciated.
Not sure where they get their engineers but they turn up press a few buttons & go away with their quotation then it gets accessed if it’s uneconomical they offer you a pittance settlement. 1st claim was for Samsung washing machine not cheap but at 6 year old a fault occurred, an engineer attended & stated it was circuit board. After 2 weeks they returned to repair. 3 months after another fault occurred. Engineer attended stated if required a new board not sure it was same one or different however cover4less contacted me & stated that they would carry out the repair under what the engineer stated however if this didn’t resolve I would be liable for the repair cost beyond what was quoted alternatively I could receive a replacement settlement figure of £180 this was in a machine that cost over £500 6 years previous also I’d now paid out £100 on the excess on the 2 repairs with still a machine that didn’t work.
Several months down the line my Bosch dishwasher gave up parting with £50 excess an engineer attended & condemned the unit which was 7 years old they offered me £120 settlement on a £480 machine no offer of replacing yet on there web page it clearly states replacement if not repaired.
I could not cancel policy without paying the balance of policy until renewal date.
In summing up I do not recommend this appliance cover stick the money away in a savings account it will be more preferential financially.

If you make a claim you have to pay all your policy upfront first. They want receipts also. Cancelling immediately a waste of my money and time! £25 to cancel too, which they won't be getting! Months of paying for what an absolute sham of a company.

having spoken to a sales agent it is clear you can add whatever you like to the policy, BUT!!! if your appliance does not have a purchase receipt showing your name on it from a UK retailer they will not meet your claim. I have several appliances that I have had for some time, and a fitted dishwasher that came with the house, None of which I can find receipts for or indeed would have receipts for? You are not going to be covered when it comes to a claim if you don't have this info.
When I suggested that I could not meet that threshold the sales agent said " the underwriters will consider each application" Insurance speak for no guarantee of a settlement!! I hope others who have receipts use the service as it very reasonably priced, but take care like many things it may be too good to be true if you don't have this information!!

Excellent service at very reasonable price
From the minute i called the helpline to the time the engineer left the staff were so helpful, professional and friendly.
The engineer arrived on time, very polite & smart. He diagnosed the problem with my machine within a few minutes and was all fixed & tidied up with 30mins. Awesome service. This is the 3rd time i have had them out for different appliances and i would highly recommend.
