Cowboy simply cannot be trusted. Bike has an inherent fault that they say means it should not be used. Waiting 9+ months for a replacement/repair and still no further forward. UK Courts have ruled that Cowboy are in break of Consumer Rights Act and customers should be refunded, but they refuse to comply. Under no circumstances should you buy a bike from this company.
I’ve had my Cowboy electric bike for 3 years and I’m still absolutely loving it. I ride it every single day to work — around 40 km round trip, and it hasn’t missed a beat.
The only thing I’ve had to replace are the brakes, which is completely expected after that kind of daily use. Otherwise, it’s been rock solid.
On top of that, it’s a beautiful, handsome bike — I get compliments all the time on how good it looks. Reliable, stylish, and a joy to ride.
Very happy owner.

WORST COMPANY EVER.
Afters days of chatting (you only get a reply once in three days), they finally diagnosed the issue and I could book a repair for 80 euros. The repair person finally came, just to again tell me what is wrong with the bike and not bringing the right parts, because cowboy didnt tell him what was wrong. I just wasted 80 euros and a month of my time. These issues have been there forever. Dont fall for it and never buy your bike here. Its just a Scam company.
I used to be super happy with Cowboy. The service was top level and the bike is super smooth. Unfortunately, I paid 240 euro's a year for the Cowboy care service, but the service was never available via the app. 4 months ago, Cowboy promised me a refund of 80 euro's for the period that it wasn't available, which I was very happy with. Until now, I've never received the 80 euro's and been receiving automatic mails that the 'refund is processed'. This is such a horrible service and I'm really disapointed. I was so happy but that feeling has been gone for a while. It seems like nobody is taking me serious via the ticket service.
Long story short: do NOT get cowboy care and don't expect any good quality service or refund, even when promised.
When you order your bike it takes a while and information isn’t shared well. BUT after receiving my wife’s bike we got in contact with after sales and wow are they amazing. It took a couple months longer for my bike to arrive but the lengths Alma went through for me to receive my bike as soon as possible was beyond amazing. Weekly updates, trying vendors if one of their stock bikes was available you name
It. Absolutely amazing customer service
Dear Cowboy,
Would you please reply to my message of 2 weeks ago? It’s about the bike that got delivered with faulty brakes almost 1 year ago. I would like to know about the breaks as Well as the 4 other parts that broke in the last year.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
I had an issue where my account was automatically deleted after removing my previous bike. I contacted support because I needed access again to connect my new Cowboy Classic. The team responded quickly, understood the problem immediately, and restored my account without complications. Very helpful and efficient support. Great experience!
I am completely unsatisfied with the customer service and the affiliated shops. In November, a cable for the pedal-assist system broke, and the affiliated shops ignored me as if they couldn’t be bothered to work. They force you to buy replacement parts exclusively through them, but then they never arrive. I ordered the cable in November: first they said it would arrive in January, then early February, and now they’ve postponed the delivery again to March, making excuse after excuse and offering no alternatives. In the meantime, I haven’t been able to use my bike for months, and I need it for work. If I could go back, I would never buy a bike from them!
Multiple issues with my Cowboy; customer service takes 14 days to respond. Parts have been ordered for 3 months with no delivery date in sight. (Bike is in warranty)
I would seriously recommend against purchasing this bike and look for alternative options
Celebrating my 5th month of not receiving my rear wheel while my €380 is long gone. No transparency, fake updates when I would get my order. Haven't used my bike since August now, because my rear wheel is fully done and there is no replacement wheel anywhere. Contacted customer service every month (also to keep myself from not forgetting I have a 3k electric bike) and it was always: "I can't give you any clarity on when you will receive your order."
Please be aware when placing in order and you think a it's just 30/60/90 days.
A very quick response. Cowboy kept in touch all the time until it was sorted
I strongly advise everyone not to buy anything here. I’ve had my bike for less than two years (so it’s still under warranty), and I’ve had nothing but mechanical issues. I’ve been waiting for a new front wheel for over a year now. I purchased Cowboy Care, but was only able to use it twice—after that, they stopped providing parts and shut down the service altogether.
The torque sensor broke, and now the belt has failed as well. Time and time again I’ve been sent from pillar to post, with lots of promises and very little follow-through. At this point, I can’t even ride my bike and will most likely have to wait months more before receiving the replacement parts.
On top of that, I’m being offered a measly 20% discount on my next Cowboy Care… absolutely disgraceful!!
Update: late Feb 2026. I still have a faulty on arrival bike and they offer NO repair service in Munich. The closest repair is 80km away by car. So if you are one of the 3.2 million potential customers who live in the Munich area, avoid this lame company at all costs. They sent me a defective bike and have basically said it's not their problem. Thank god that I have legal insurance. What a joke.
I recently unboxed a new Cowboy Cross ST. It is, undeniably, a beautiful piece of hardware and the ride feel is excellent. However, I’ve learned the hard way that Cowboy is a "tech company" that has forgotten how to be a "bike company." My brand-new €4,000 bike arrived with a dead wireless charger, and the experience since has been a masterclass in poor service.
The Munich Service Vacuum
I live in Munich (81679), a city where every second person owns an e-bike. Yet, Cowboy’s solution for a warranty repair on a factory defect is to have me haul a 26kg bike to a service point near Ingolstadt. Let’s do the math: a drop-off trip is 160km round-trip. A pick-up trip is another 160km. That is 320km of driving and four hours of my life to fix a brand-new bike. Why does a "premium" brand have zero authorized service capability in the center of Munich?
Useless Without a Charger
On a Cowboy, the charger isn't a luxury; it’s a life-support system. The bike is totally dependent on the app to run. Because the app utilizes constant Bluetooth, GPS, and data, it drains a phone battery at a staggering rate. Without a working charger, the "smart" bike has a 45-minute fuse before your phone dies and you are left pedaling a heavy, unassisted manual bike.
The AI Support Nonsense
Cowboy has seemingly replaced human accountability with a hollow "AI-hybrid" system. You don’t get a support ticket or a follow-up email; you get a chatbot that forces you through "machine-led diagnosis" scripts. Even when you finally reach a human, they are hamstrung by the same automated scripts and offer no local solutions.
Tl;dr
If you live in a major city and expect "premium" service to include a local repair option or an actual human you can talk to, look elsewhere. Paying thousands for a bike and then being asked to act as your own long-haul freight driver for a warranty issue is unacceptable.
Ps. Don't forget the €200 "Connect" paywall to unlock the features you thought you already bought. That's a whole other mess.
These cowboys do not know how to do customer care. You just simply don't exist for them. I have never felt so helpless as a customer in my entire life. You know, they're not even worth it to write a long review.. I've spend tens of hours last year trying to get in contact for multiple mechanical parts with no success. Shops in Amsterdam stop collaborating with them and I can totally imagine why. The one star of this review is for the design of the bike. Get another bike at a company that does know how to do business!
They are super quick in answer and supporting for any help!
I own a Cowboy C4 ST for a bit more than 2 years that has been recalled in May 2025 and has been sitting at home since. While Cowboy has informed they will proceed with repair/replacement nothing has happened in 8 months. They are not replying nor taking care of this issue. A £3K bike sitting at home, not ridable is beyond frustrating. the Office for Product Safety and Standards itself advice to all users to not ride it. No offer of a replacement to keep riding in the meantime. Bottom Line Do Not Buy a Cowboy.
My request made via the chat bot was handled the following day.
There was no human reply to my question but the request was handled correctly.
I didn’t want to write this review because the bike is actually okay, apart from the very bad paint job. However, the battery drained, last June, I have been waiting for over six months for replacement. The delivery date keeps getting pushed. I paid over 3k for the bike and now it’s been sitting, unusable with no help from the company and only automatic AI agents respond. It’s the most disappointing experience, all I want is my money back but apparently it’s also not an option. How can this company get away with this?
UPDATE: just received notice that battery will be delivered March 2026! Almost a year later
my problem was resolved quickly and with clarity, emails answered and help given.
