VEXPERIAN!
What a load of old s**t as Catherine Tate once said. £14.99 per month to have ‘dedicated support’ above and beyond the free version. Can’t get in touch with ANYBODY! Customer services number just asks if I want to know how they have my information and then the call ends. It seems that the 0800 number for ‘Credit Experts’ has just been created so that they can put a number on their website. There is nobody at the other end……ever! Another company thieving off hard working people…… welcome to the 21st century.
Absolutely appalling company
I thought that I would try them for car insurance, si I started to fill out their online form. Amazingly they told me that no car existed with that registration. I must have been travelling in a virtual car for the past three years.
I then tried to phone them to find out why I had made up a car registration. After I had located their phone number I finally got through and was abruptly cut off almost as I started the conversation.
Next move was to put my complaints in writing by email, but the email was returned as undelivered.
I did use their free credit score, but no more. If their data base for insurance is so out of date it is scary to think what their financial scoring is based on.
I have requested that they remove my details from their systems using the online form, but I won’t be holding my breath for the to do what I have requested,
Regardless of what they do I won’t be using them again.
Send you emails that are misleading and…

NO STAR AT ALL FROM ME
NO STAR AT ALL FROM ME. The company is a farce. I tried the 30 day free trial to look at my credit rating. What a shock i got. The information they held on me, was 20 years out of date. They had me financially tied with my ex husband, who i divorced 23 years ago. They had my mortgage as being 30k over what it is. There was a loan on there that had been paid 17 years ago and so much more was wrong. When i tried to update the information, i was unable to. The online contact was a farce and kept taking me to FAQ's instead of chat. I couldn't contact them via the phone. I cancelled my subscription within the free trial time period, then the cheeky sods, took the payment out of my account, AFTER i had cancelled it. Contacted my bank who are retrieving my money and said they had received many, many phone calls regarding experian with customers having issues with them. Why companies take so much notice of their credit reports is beyond me as their information is crap. Please people, be aware that they are appalling with no customer services at all, to speak of. Avoid like the plague.
They are absolutely useless, NO Star at all, automated phone is rubbish
They are absolutely useless, telephone call don't take you anywhere once it comes to support. no one is responsible and automated phone is truly rubbish. I have been attacked and all my identity has been stolen, rang them and email them number of times no response so ever.
Every time over the phone 20 min waiting and eventually cut off.
Don’t even deserve one start !!!!
Don’t even deserve one start !!!!
Bloody useless company, you complain won’t get any where !!
Been paying them £14.99 a moth for over 7 years, I need my accounts updated ASAP can do nothing more than apologise and avoide your questions!!!
This service should be free of charge!!!
And if we pay they should update our account on the spot !
Not to wait 28 working days for and answer !!!
Bloody useless costumer services !!!!
Useless clowns
Useless and allow companies to put adverse marks against people’s credit report and don’t make them remove it even when the companies in question admit the mistake!!! The people need to take the power back from these clowns.
Experian UK and Experian app
Experian app, ‘boost’, Experian generally, complete and utter rubbish.
Many years ago I had an Experian account (paid monthly) to keep an eye on my credit report, I found it a waste of time, they were only interested in getting your money so I cancelled and left.
About 2 years ago as scams, fraud and cybercrime was on the increase I downloaded and began using their app which was free.
I also downloaded Credit Karma (Transunion), also a free app.
I’ve found the Experian app a complete waste of time, inaccurate, misleading, no information (in comparison) and no way of contacting them (Experian), all they wanted was for you to sign up to their pay monthly access account, everything is biased to get you to do so.
The ‘boost feature’, garbage, despite a high profile TV advertising campaign which portrays it as some sort of wonder way to raise your credit report score.
In short it doesn’t, you have to allow them access to your bank account and then await their ‘analysis’, the feature doesn’t work most of the time and it fails to open, again the app suggests you take out their pay monthly option.
My credit score with them was 966 (excellent) last week, nothing has changed my end, this week it’s 802 (fair), no explanation, no means of contact, no help, now I know it’s a ‘free app’, but the old saying if there’s no such thing as a free lunch rings true, as said all they want you to do is sign up to their pay monthly account and I’m guessing that dropping your score every now and again, and so drastically is a way to get you to do that by alarming you into doing it.
In comparison Kredit Karma (Transunion) also a free app gives detailed information, relatively up to date content and is accurate, you don’t need to allow them access to your accounts (like the ‘boost’ feature of Experian) and most importantly you can contact them (and they do reply) if you need to.
So, in my opinion, Experian is a sales tool, it encourages you to apply for credit, credit cards and the like, they are a credit broker and not simply as you might believe from the propaganda, a credit checking tool.
I’ll be ditching the Experian app, I’m certainly not going to be paying them a monthly fee again for a substandard service.
My advice is if you want a free credit score checking app try Kredit Karma, don’t waste your time and data on Experian’s poor attempt that does not work and is a marketing tool.
Not to be trusted
This is something that needs to be regulated as the information is incorrect for a company that relies on sharing peoples information and messing with peoples ability to get credit. I wonder if this is something that be taken to court by someone with time for this to come to light and get debated on in parliament. I would definitely blame this company for inability to get credit and they state that it could stay on your account for 6 years even after you settle your accounts. So by their rules you cant get credit for 6 years is absolutely ridiculous. Where’s the data protection regulations now I wonder.
Manipulation of credit score
I tried Experian Credit Expert free trial and got stung for £14 even when I cancelled within 30 days. Fortunately I got reimbursed for it after calling and holding for ages.
However - when I cancelled my paid account, they then lowered my ‘credit score’ even though there were no negative events or credit related issues that occurred. Totally manipulative. Lost trust in their scoring feature. Their credit score is just a made up figure they invent and manipulate as they wish. Dont trust them. Fraudsters.
Dont fall into the trap of ‘boosting’ your score. Its all smoke and mirrors. The access they get to your personal data is vast. I would certainly not trust them with it.
Incompetence.
Incompetence.
They are holding incorrect information on my credit report.
They are unwilling to correct it so therefore I am suing them in small claims Court
Completely rubish
Completely inacurate credit score provider.
They droped my credit score and I cannot check why, (probably to force me to have pay subscription).
I pay for my Experian account mainly…
I pay for my Experian account mainly because I have to keep an eye on them. I paid off all my debts last year in March and I’m STILL trying to get them to mark some of them as satisfied despite approx 30 emails and 20 phone calls and them having the information they need. I thought it was sorted in august and stopped my subscription because “nothing could go wrong now” right? WRONG. I logged into the free account to check my score and it had gone down by lots despite no new credit accounts.
Paid for subscription AGAIN to find out my bank account had disappeared and they had an address logged for me that was 4 months old. AND some of my old debts were STILL down as not satisfied. I emailed only to get stock email replies so I phoned and was told “I didn’t need them marked as satisfied” only to then be told 5min later his boss had said they do. But “don’t worry we have the information we’ll mark them both as satisfied” cue email a few days later and only one has been done.
I’m a believer in the fact you shouldn’t have to pay to keep an eye on what’s technically a system you have to have but Experian are honestly the worst out of the lot and if I didn’t have to use them I wouldn’t but I’m not letting them out of my sight anymore.
If it means I have to pay £15 a month for them not to stuff up something that can affect getting a mortgage then so be it.
ALSO phone AND email them whenever you have a query.
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. They claim that you have 30 days free trial. It’s rubbish. They will take money from your bank a few days later.
This company is a scam. Please stay away.
avoid these fraudsters!
Just got off the phone with experian and I was told point blank they can't respond to my query because they have I am not a paying customer and that they have more important customers to attend to because they pay monthly subscription. So this company have my details wrong, I call to get them to do the right thing and all they want is "my money" just to be heard?? Interesting!
they just took my personal information…
they just took my personal information for other uses!!! After registering on their website, immediately I received a scam message on my phone!!
Cut all ties with this company
Cut all ties with this company, truly shocking response times... And to charge consumers premium membership fees to even have the privilege to call their call centres... Wow! 28 day SLA on complaints... That just about sums this lot up...!
Experian been taking money out of my…
Experian been taking money out of my account. I did not even notice that i must have by mistake signed something that takes money out of my account every month. I have no control over it, and i can not even log on to my account. I have been for this for years and wasted so much cash. I would like to warn people that this can happen to you.
cant get a real person on the phone
cant get a real person on the phone and they just took my money without notifying me
Avoid these Hucksters
This organisation are a nightmare to deal with, getting through to them to ask a simple question is a complex and time-consuming process. They have been double billing me for over a year but point blank refused to help. I have given them one star as the system does not allow a zero. They do not appear very efficient and they are not honourable in dealing with their paying customers. Avoid if you can.
