Criteo is one of the best ad platforms out there. For many years now I have been using it and had good CPC and CPA for the campaigns.

Have no respect for your money!
Terrible company to deal with. Have no respect for your money!
I started a contract with this company, took the introduction call with the person who was to manage my campaign. Agreed a % of sale value that i was happy to spend on getting the sale and they set the campaign going. I was advised that initially whilst things ramped up that spend would be a lot higher but within a few weeks they would be at the target level.
However 3 months later and spend was at 5 times the target percentage meaning that I was making a loss on everything I had sold with them.
When I tackled them on this I was blamed for not taking the introduction call when I would have specified the targets, which i did take. Essentially they had just been spending my money with apparently no monitoring of the target cost and couldn't care less as it wasn't their money.
Ever since i Have been chased periodically to settle the account as their system, despite uploading my card details on numerous occasions, didn't take the payment for the money they had spent. I reply to these emails but don't get a reply for a few months when I get chased and have the same experience again and again.
Avoid! You might as well just throw your money down the drain.
Be very careful following ads placed by this company

The absolute worst of the worst
We've joined criteo in 2020. The onboarding was an absolute catastrophe: We've waited 41 (!) days until the Account was active, even though I was promised "tomorrow" every second day.
After 1+ month of waiting I was told to set up a "Traffic campaign" to "boost" my retargeting. I went for it: If they ever suggest that to you: Don't.
Their "prospecting campaigns" will give you traffic with a 99%+ bounce rate (and a < 1s page stay) - they will basically ruin all of your retargeting lists (if you advertise multichannel). I was able to prove that with server logs and analytics, my "Account Strategist" (who worked there for a whopping 6 months) told me to just stop them then, no further explanation, no nothing.
We've started internationalizing this year and wanted to setup another account for remarketing. I was told "Just send us an e-mail and we will take care of it" - that's what I did.
... This is when nightmare part 2 began:
Since my old account manager left, I was forwarded to someone else (according to LinkedIn, she's been working there since 4 weeks). I told her what we needed and she understood absolutely nothing. I sent 6 E-Mails back and forth until she passed me to the onboarding (!) again.
The guy I talked to apologized and told me "Everything will be fine now, I'll take care of it". What he took care of: Bringing me to the sales team again.
The sales guy I've talked to (it was the one from last year) didn't understand why this happened and explained I would now have to pay a much higher amount (for whatever reason) but that it would make no sense because of the audience size. He told me he'll get back to me "tomorrow, with an IPO to sign". Guess what, that never happened. I sent them another E-mail one week later asking what the hell they were doing. He promptly responded with "I will send you the IPO in the next hour"...
.... Aaaaand: Yep, that didn't happen either. I gave up fighting for the second account after 4 weeks. And went to the competition.
Guys: Criteo has the *worst* customer service I have ever experienced in my life. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand does and their promises are ridiculous. Go for the competition, Taboola and Outbrain have a GREAT customer service.
We do feel valued a lot there, aside from the fact that they have an interface that actually works flawlessly.
Don't get Criteo-caged in any way, it's simply not worth it.
Don't waste your money
We spend so much money with them and no results.
The company only communicates when they want you to spend more money or when they decide you owe them money 5 years ago because of their mistakes.
Another scam marketing company.

This company is non-contactable
This company is non-contactable. tried to setup ads with them, but they failed to respond to all support questions, emails, support tickets and even Facebook. Unreal! now just deleting their leftover code from their Shopify apps which is a hassle.

This is a bad company
This is a bad company. You opt out with the crazy advertising promoted by them, and they still send same advertising. It is a garbage created by apartment Millenials to screw our lives.
Extremely poor customer support
We have been working with this company for many years, but as from the last year the "digitalized" work processes and only support you can get is waiting for email from dedicated account manager who do not care if your campaign stop working for more than one month. No one calls or contact you to review monthly/yearly performance, to update regarding new functionalities, etc. Previously it was possible to contact via phone/skype to get support, however now I requested more that 5 time online call which wasn't even responded. Far from you account manager you can not contact to ANYONE - I mean customer care, region manager, etc. (except financial teams who requesting weekly invoices to be paid). In addition I wrote email more than 10 days ago to email provided by Criteo for previous review below. No one even dare to respond that they received anything. Anyway I wrote here with a hope that anyone else from Criteo's upper management team sees it and understand how they lose their long term clients. Never again to work with this company and would never suggest to any company to work with them if you care about you business.

Spend “monthly budget” within 3 days
They rarely hit performance targets and spend “monthly budget” within days.
Better options out there, only interested in making money not helping there business partners grow.

I ONE TIME went to a Puritan Vitamin ad…
I ONE TIME went to a Puritan Vitamin ad and ever since my computer has been INUNDATED with ads from Criteo despite the fact I have OPTED OUT and have repeatedly reported the ads as being repetitive, uninteresting and inappropriate. On one news website it is nothing for me to see the same ads 20 or more times in less than 10 minutes depending on what stories I view. Your company is nothing more than garbage, you ignore the opt outs and you have hijacked my computer.
I will be contacting Puritan Vitamins and letting them know, because of Criteo's INCESSANT bombarding of my computer with their ad's I would never, never make a purchase from them. Shame on Criteo for such shameful practices; ad placers take notice...it is unscrupulous ad companies like this that hurt YOUR business.
Support works very slowly
Support works very slowly
I can't edit my ads smoothly, disabled to adjust my campaign budget ( can't decrease or increase it without support intervention.)
If you would like to save your time - keep away
moved to another provider
Don't west your time with Criteo

Worst customer experience and complete…
Worst customer experience and complete rip-off. I manage two separate accounts for two separate companies and they kept getting my requests mixed up - even though I specified which account/company on every email and subject line. This created confusion over budgets, paused and un-paused campaigns, etc. Furthermore, when they were selling me on using Criteo, they promised over and over we would start to see conversions after 2 months. That never happened, just a ton of useless traffic to our site that brought our conversion rate down, even after 3 months. And now they refuse to acknowledge any requests for a refund, which we are definitely due. Do yourself a favor and don't believe the hype. Shame on you, Criteo.

Avoid! Non-responsive team, non-existent account management
Terrible customer experience, does not even deserve 1 star. First our "account manager" made a mistake and blew our budget in Nov despite us reiterating what our budget was for that month. Then their team admitted it was their mistake and when I requested a refund for their mistake, their team is non-responsive. I have tried over 10 times in the last 2 months to get a manager or someone (anyone!) on the phone to resolve this issue and to talk about account management. However, they continue to ignore my emails and requests for meetings. Avoid this company. They will take your $$ and run.

This company gave no value for ad…
This company gave no value for ad spend. No customer hand-holding here - I spoke with numerous people during the set up, and really the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. I feel a bit foolish for allowing myself to be "suckered in" and signed a six month contract. One month was just abysmal, and I have 15 year's experience with this online company and know Google Ads and Analytics pretty well. The pitch was that they could show my ads to SO many more users and they are targeted so with the built-in AI the learning would be valuable to my CTR. Not.
1) I got out of the contract (paid for the ads the first month) by stating in writing that there was no value in the spend and so a Material Breach of Contract was done. They didn't argue.
2) They place tracking pixels on your website so your customer's data feeds back to them - for use as they wish. I had to pay someone to remove the code from my website - Criteo is happy to place it - won't remove it. If YOU don't remove it, your website continues feeding them data forever. Think about that. And your customers data being tracked, because once they visit YOUR website, the tracking cookie is placed on THEIR computer and the big data starts.
It took months to get them to stop sending me reports on a non-existent campaign.
If you want to do online advertising, pick up the phone and talk to a Google person - they are helpful and will follow up and send good links so you can do it yourself -- or hire a person, not this company.
